A big brown bat has a wing span of 12-16 inches.It weighs about 14-21 grams.The diet of a brown bat consists of insects. It especially likes beetles. The big brown bat’s sharp teeth allow it to pierce through the hard exoskeleton of the beetles. The big brown bat also likes flying insects like wasps, flies, moths, and flying ants. They capture flying insects in flight. The big brown bat can reach speeds up to forty miles an hour while flying.
