    LatentView Training Statistics Questions

    Basic Questions:

What inferences can you make about the distribution of a random variable by

    comparing its mean and median?

What are the ways in which you can compare the dispersion of two different

random variables? Explain which measure you would prefer under what

    circumstances.

What are the assumptions that underlie the correlation coefficient? How would

you verify the same? How would you handle scenarios where the assumptionsare not met?

What are the basic checks you would do when you are trying to fit each of the

following distributions to a data stream: normal, exponential and poisson?

What is the meaning of sampling bias? How do you identify the bias? What are

the ways in which the bias can be corrected?

What are the assumptions that underlie a t-test for comparison of means?

How would you verify the same?

What are the assumptions/limitations of the ANOVA technique? How would

    you overcome the same?

    Exercise Problem:

How would you go about verifying the hypothesis that males have a higher

incidence of heart disease compared to females? Highlight upon the following

aspects: hypothesis specification, experiment design, sampling strategy,

alternative hypothesis testing frameworks and interpretation of results.
