    13 BASIC SAFETY RULES FOR DRIVERS

    1.- Verify your vehicle before using it, check tires pressure, engine oil level,

    cooling-water level, steering hydraulic oil level and very important, check your

    gasoline tank level.

    2.- Always use your Safety Belt and be sure the passengers use it as well; kids

    must go in the back seats using safety-seats.

    3.-Leave your vehicle at home if you are attending social meetings where you

    are going to drink alcoholic beverages; make use of taxis or a designated driver.

    4.-Always keep your distance with the front vehicle; apply The 2 seconds Rule.

    5.- Slow your speed at intersections and railroad crossings, crossings; watch out

    for pedestrians, bikers or motorcyclists.

    6.- Be foresighted, advice or make signals of what you are about to do and keep

    the vehicle lights even if you are driving in daylight.

    7.- Young people under eighteen are allowed to drive only if accompanied by anadult; dont let them drive at night or alone.

    8.- Avoid driving if you feel tired and between 02:00-05:00 AM.

    9.- Never drive with a baby or pets in your lap; if you have to answer a call in your

    cell phone its better to stop by the road side.

    10.- Dont drive if you are emotionally altered, cool down, be kind and prudent.

    11.- Speed in front of schools is 13mph (20kph), residence home areas 20mph

    (30kph), streets 26mph (40kph) and avenues 40mph (60kph).

    12.- Slow your speed when there is danger ahead, control hazards one at a time,

    be cautiou.

    13. Ambulance and emergencia Vehicles have pass preference over normal
