    Computer can not understand programming language. Hence,to make the computer understand the instructions given bythe user, language processor s are used.

    Operating system is the software that communicate with thecomputer hardware.Hence,Operating system is an interface

    between computer and the user. Without operating system, nosoftware program can run.

    Utilities are those programs that performs a veryspecific tasks. Usually related to managing systemresources. Hardware and software need a way tocommunicate with each other, and they do so by usingsystem resources. Operating system contains number ofutilities for managing disk drives, printer and other

    devices. Ex: WinZip, backup, restore, disk clean upetc.,

    A program is a set of instructions given to the computerto perform a particular task.

    What is an Operating system. The1960s definition ofan operating system is the software that controls thehardware. In brief, an operating system is the set ofprograms that controls a computer. Some examples ofoperating system are Unix,Mach,Ms-DOS, MS-Windows,

    Windows/NT.

    When arranging books, it is better to keep books ondifferent subjects in different shelves as this makes it easier
