The difference is our fabric, taught and breathable, and 2 ceiling vents. Wake up to dry gear and sleeping bags inside and out.

Out custom nylon/polyester fabric is pretreated so the tent is fire retardant, mildew resistant, and will deflect water.

Out custom fabric is mildew-proof. Drying time is short. Feel confident when storing over the winter.

Wet or dry. Hot or Cold. Our shrinkage is in-measurable.

Our frame holds 1000lbs of additional weight. The 28° roof angle and slick all weather cover naturally sluffs off even the stickiest wet snow.

Our walls and floor are tightly stretched and locked to the frame. Staking frame and tent to ground allows tent to handle storms up to 90mph.

6' wall height and 9' center height means you can spread out. It creates a nice drying area of 7' and minimizes condensation.

Outfitter tent with frame, poles, join, floor rain fly and tent skin is under 160 lbs, packs down to 3 bags. Doesn’t absorb water.

Eventually you’ll get use to the smell of chemicals and if you’re lucky, a hint of mildew.

Early morning forecast calls for rain again, better pull out your umbrella, as canvas tents are notorious for their lack of ventilation.

We recommend a gas mask to treat your canvas every year.

Canvas is thick and holds moisture. Drying it requires days and still no guarantee it won’t mildew.

Wet canvas will see up to 3' of major shrinkage.

Heat travels through the canvas, snow sticks to canvas and with 5' pole gaps it starts to sag and build up. This increases risk of the tent collapsing.

Wall height is typically 4' to 5', creating a smaller area and rug burns on your forehead that are difficult to explain.

The dry weight is comparable to our tent, and typically packs down to 2 bags. Wet canvas, during take down, can double its weight.

Non-smelling fabric plus 10 windows, 2 doors and 2 ceiling vents to mitigate the smelliest of camping partners.

My experience in life has taught me that whenever we try to do

something significant, there will always be opposition. The beginnings

of Barebones started by simply trying to do good. Our vision was to

help people out of poverty by teaching them how to build businesses.

We wanted to empower them to life themselves out of poverty.

We ran into so many obstacles that, one day, I turned my eyes

heavenward and said, “I give up. I can’t do this anymore.” Almost

immediately a thought came to me. “If not you, who? If not now,

when?” That was profound and it gave our team the courage to work

through our problems. Our vision remained true, but we found that

our methods had to adjust from what we thought would work to what

actually worked. We discovered that by creating basic tools that

everyone needed and wanted they could use those tools to create

income opportunities within their community.

At Barebones, our products are designed to lift the poorest of poor

while still being relevant to the richest of rich. Think about that for

a moment. If we have products that will really do that, then those

products are a great equalizer in lifting us all to a higher place. After all,

we are all here on this earth together sharing a human experience.

We can offer reliable power, provide sustainable living shelters, and

teach sustainable food growth to every human being on this earth

without overwhelming our resources. There is enough for all.
