The Barbers Hill ISD Education Foundation is a non-profi t organization designed to help educators implement creative learning projects for students preK-12. At the heart of the Foundation are the corporate and individual friends of Barbers Hill who believe in the value of education and are willing to invest in the leaders of tomorrow. Through the tax-deductible donations of these individuals and businesses, the Education Foundation can provide grants directly to educators who have fresh, new ideas for programs that help students not only learn, but remember.

The mission of the Barbers Hill ISD Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to assist the Barbers Hill Independent School District in enhancing its educational programs and processes.

Mission

“Th e grant awarded to us by the Education Foundation allowed us to purchase a large monitor so that we can view the layouts, colors, stories, and photographs with great detail and clarity, as we create the yearbook. We hope this added benefi t will help us with the expertise required to produce a nationally recognized yearbook*.”

Over $400,000 has been distributed for educational grants in Barbers Hill since the inception of the Education Founda-tion in 2010.

In 2016 alone, 62 grants totaling nearly $100,000 were awarded to educators benefi ting students at every campus and grade level.

Foundation grants are used for many diff erent projects, including technol-ogy, books, software, equipment, and tutoring aids.

What does a grant accomplish?“We use the Mimio Pad funded by the Education Foundation every day. We are excited in learning and are blessed to be in a district that allows for these types of learning opportunities.” Ashley Gilmore, BH Primary grant recipient

books to a new level. For both advanced

and struggling readers, many features on electronic readers

make it possible to reach new heights in critical thinking, vo-

cabulary development and fl uency.”

Local businesses Sonic and I.T. Works make a regular donation to the Education Foundation as they sponsor the Barbers Hill Scholar and Athlete of the Week programs.
