Mark Flister –

You’re a Police man who is very harsh when it comes to miners without licences, you prepare the ultimate consequence. In training to be a police, you learnt to be harsh but you took that the wrong way so that’s why you are really harsh. You have black hair and doesn’t know his real family.

You are really nice to a miner who doesn’t have a

licence and you let him off the hook

You chain all the miners without licences to a log

or a tree if they don’t show their licences in 10

seconds.

Paul McSolan –

You are a Gold Miner who became a Eureka Rebel. You are 30 years old and have dark brown hair. You are a very nice person but very easily angered.

You can’t find your licence in your bag and

go and mine anyway but get chained to a tree

You search for 30 seconds more and find it. When you leave your

hut you accidently swing your bag into a

policeman and get taken to court

You definitely would not lower that miners fee without being persuaded or forced to. Knowing what he would do you should try again.

Page 8: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct! The licence checks, the mining fees, what’s next? Sir Charles Hotham seems like he finds happiness by making everyone else’s like miserable, Or does he?

You place worse punishments if a miner doesn’t show his licence

immediately

You send in troops at dawn to fight against

the Eureka Rebels inside their stockade.

Page 9: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

He didn’t turn him self, nobody at that time would do that . I mean would you? Of-course you might turn yourself in if you get a reward but in this time your reward was………JAIL!

Correct!

James Bently was let off the hook by the magistrate and continued his daily crimes. Will his next move assure him the path to jail or will he be continuously let off the hook?

He continued his daily crimes and did not get

caught

He was taken to court and proven innocent until the victim had

solid proof that he was guilty and he was

sentenced to 10 years jail.

Page 11: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

He did not let that miner off the hook, he never let any miner off the hook. Have you ever heard of a police man who let a criminal off the hook? I think you should try again.

Go back and try again

Page 12: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct!

Mark Flister did chain all those miners to a log or tree by Sir Charles Hotham's orders. This frustrated the miners even more. What will he change his ways or will he be even more brutal?

He was told by Sir Charles Hotham that he was to harsh and lost his

job.

His harshness was getting worse but Sir

Charles Hotham thinks it’s great and he

promotes him to ‘Head Policeman’.

Page 13: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

At that time all the miners were to lazy to look anymore after they are already frustrated.

You did get chained to a tree and nobody who cared about you could find you so you starved to death.

Incorrect!

You didn’t place worse punishments if the miners didn’t show there licences immediately, though that does sound like something he would do it’s not actually what he did.

Go back and try again.

Page 16: Bankruptcy or Fortune

He jails 3 miners and the other miners demand

their freedom, you refuse so they break them out. He realises that they will do anything to get what they want so he gives them what they want.

He keeps giving them all these obstacles to overcome and they

always find a way around them. He had that ‘I’ll will never stop until you die’

kind of attitude.

Correct!

He did send in his best troops and his best armies and won the battle but that didn’t stop the miners from continuing their war. What his next move to stop the miners?

Page 17: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Go Back and try again.

Incorrect!

Though it does sound like he deserved 10 years jail but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

Page 18: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct!

He was a very lucky man and didn’t get caught so he could steal food and everything else without because he was skilled with stealth.

He started attempting harder and harder acts of

crime until, plan gone bad and he got given 7

years of hard labour working as a slave for the

Government.

He overwhelmed himself with his achievements

and claimed that he could steal all the gold that a bushrangers house of 5,

owned.

Page 19: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

Sir Charles Hotham will do any thing to stop the miners fighting for there rights. You might tell him to stop being so harsh but never in a 1000 years will Sir Charles Hotham.

Go back and try again

Page 20: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct!

Sir Charles Hotham is a very cruel man so he told all of the other policeman to be that harsh as well. So, it was easier for all of the policemen to follow Mark Flister’s ways if he was the ‘Head Policemen.

He’s out one night and he see’s a robbery of Gold

being done by one of the most Wanted Bushranger

yet.

The best troops are worked way to hard and

are thoroughly exhausted from all the training for being harsh. The next

day they don’t come to work. They want Mark

Flister, FIRED!

Page 21: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

Sir Charles Hotham didn’t put all those obstacles out for them until they die. Though what he’s done in the past does make him seem like he would he didn’t.

Go back and try again

Page 22: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct!

Sir Charles Hotham did jail those three miners. And boy, those diggers didn’t like it at all. Since they knew they couldn’t just break them out the started a mob and demanded the miners freedom. Of course that didn’t work so, the miners gathered their best criminals and broke them out.

You gave up. Even though you had all that power,

they always beat you. You gave them every thing

they wanted, lowered the mining fee and gave

them the right to vote.

You make the mining fee higher and make sure they can’t find all the

Gold only your personal diggers can.

Page 23: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Even if he did overwhelm himself with his achievements he would have to be crazy to think he could pull that off.

Plan, Gone, BAD! “Oh Oh. 7 years of hard work. The worst 7 years of my life and it only just begun. This is just like breaking a mirror.” Is what you were saying.

You spend 2 years plotting a way to claim yourself innocent and finally you think it’s

perfect. You get to court and find out The victim

has SOLID EVIDENCE! You get 7 more years jail!

You go through all those 7 long years and when your free you decide that You

will never commit a crime again. That commitment was broken the next day.

Page 25: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

He’s not that good of a policeman he’s just really harsh. But that did happen to the previous head policeman and he was put back on the force.

Page 26: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Correct!

All those troops, GONE! None of them to stop the crimes going on for 5 days it was a world of criminals. Sir Charles Hotham (The Lieutenant-Governor of the Victorian Gold Fields) couldn’t have it so he fired you.

You stole some bread and some other food to feed your family luckily you weren’t caught.

You have a really, really long conversation with

yourself and decide what’s going to happen

and say “I promise everyone and myself that

I will never commit a crime again.”

Your taking a stroll in your new disguise and

find yourself surrounded by fool’s gold and you start piling it in to your

pockets without thinking, and you get trapped because you weren’t

thinking.

Page 31: Bankruptcy or Fortune

Incorrect!

Your not that dumb you invented that kind of trap. Any way you didn’t have enough money to buy a disguise so you just stayed at home.
