• SHOW RULES •ENTRY FEES: Once entry fees have been received, they are non-refundable.

BANK CHARGES: All bank charges incurred or incorrectly completed and on dishonoured cheques in respect of show entries will incur a surcharge of £10.00 to the exhibitor concerned payable PRIOR to the day of the show. Entries accompanied by cheques which are not in order for payment, for whatever reason, will be returned. Failure to cover the surcharge will result in the entry being returned. Any exhibitor failing to pay entry fees and/ or bank charges will be referred to the Kennel Club.

CANCELLATION OR ABANDONMENT OF SHOW: Entry fees will not be refunded in any circumstances where any act of God or any other unforeseen circumstances causes the cancellation of the show after entries have closed.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO RIGHTS: The organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming to the attention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors. It is a condition of those attending the event that no filming or other form of recording may be taken or made at the venue without express written permission of the organiser. The taking of photographs in the venue for sale or reward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the organisers. Press accredited photographers are provided with permission to take photography ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and Internet sites - this is for news purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs or video film of general views of the show, provided that theses are for private use only. Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor.

No photography is permitted while judging is actually taking place. However, judges may allow it to happen at the end of classes or after the BOB is awarded. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being affected, a committee member, a ring steward or judge is empowered to stop the person concerned. Cinematography or television equipment may only be used at the show if a permit has been issued by the Organisers.

VETERINARY FEES: All veterinary fees are to be paid by the Exhibitors.

DOGS IN VEHICLES: Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in your car in high temperatures and also on days when you would consider it not to be particularly warm and sunny.

Warning: Please take care of your dog. If any dog is found to be at risk in a vehicle then it may be considered that forcible entry is necessary without the club or its members being liable for any damage caused.

VENUE: Could all exhibitors please clear up after their own dogs including combings and litter.

Spectator dogs will be admitted please see Secretary on arrival - £5 per dog.

• RULES & REGULATIONS • 1. The Show will open at 8.30 am. 2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure that exhibits are

available for judging when required. 3. Judging will commence at Junior Handling 9.00 am; Breeds 10.00 am. 4. Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. The Show will close

half an hour after all judging has been completed. 5. Entry Fees: Members first entry £5.50 per dog; Non-Members first entry £6.50 per dog; each

subsequent entry with same dog £2.00. Handling Classes: £2.00 per class. Not for Competition: £2.00 per dog. Catalogues: Pre-paid with entries ONLY £3.50 (must be claimed by 12.00 noon). Adverts in Catalogue: Full Page £10.00 — Half Page £5.00. Membership: Family/Joint £5.00; Single £4.00. Trade Stands: £25.00.

6. Prize Money: BIS £20.00; Reserve BIS £10.00; BPIS £15.00; Reserve BPIS £10.00; BVIS £15.00. See individual Stakes Class classification for prize money on offer. All prize money to be claimed from the Secretary on the day of the Show.

7. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 8. Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition. 9. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 10. Best Puppy in Show: Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in

Show is a puppy which has competed and has been declared Best Puppy in Breed, Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified Puppy or Best Any Variety Imported Breed Register Puppy. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best in Group or Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Where the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed, Best in Group and Best in Show respectively.

Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from: a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed. b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group

or on each day. c) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes in each group

or on each day. Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners.11. Best in Show: The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and has been declared

Best of Breed, Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified or Best Any Variety Imported Breed Register. a. Shows Judged on the Group System (Definition; Shows judged on the Group System includes classes

for breeds within more than one group, as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and require a judge to declare a best of each group after which the exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show).

1) Best of Breed Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those

dogs which have received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared.

2) Best of Group Best of group and subsequent placings must be selected from:-

a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs. b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in

each group or on each day. c) The Best dog from Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes in each Group or on each

day.

3) Best in Show Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners. Reserve Best in Show must be

selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection for Best in Show. 12. Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has

elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

14. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

15. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry.

Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• Whentravellingtoashowpleasetakeamomenttoconsiderwhethertheroutetotheshowis

on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• Ifyourvehicleisnotair-conditionedseriouslyconsiderwhethertravellingtotheshowisagoodideaatall.• Thevehicleshouldbeasfullyventilatedaspossible,andplentyofstopsshouldbetaken,withlots

of water available to drink.• Ensureyourdogisnotsittinginfullsunlight.Thereshouldbeplentyoffreeflowingairaroundthe

dog.• Whenattheshow,neverleaveyourdoginthevehicle.• Keepthedogintheshade-takeyourownshadeforexamplealargeumbrellaandalwayshave

plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoidyourdog takingpart inunnecessaryexertion,or fromstanding inexposedsunlight for

extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead

to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

18. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

19. PASSES WILL NOT BE SENT. Those exhibitors requiring acknowledgment of their entries must forward a stamped addressed envelope or postcard with same.

20. Should any question arise not provided for in these regulations the decision of the Committee shall be final subject only to appeal to the Kennel Club.

21. Should any judge be prevented from fulfilling his or her engagement, the Committee reserve the right to appoint another judge or judges in their place. Exhibitors may withdraw from competition but no entry fees can be returned.

22. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as

possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches.

23. The Committee will be empowered to exclude or remove any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition either from illness, disease, vice, natural or other causes, and if such exclusion takes place either before or after judging the entry fee will be forfeited.

24. The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of all dogs entered for exhibition and for any property entrusted to it, but it must be clearly understood by exhibitors and any other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss, or detention of, or damage to any dog or person for any cause whatsoever, nor for act or omission of themselves, their officers, agents and others, and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.

25. No animal other than an exhibit duly entered at the Show will be allowed within the precincts of the Show during its continuance.

26. The Committee of the Show can accept no responsibilty for products advertised or sold by standholders at the Show and remind exhibitors that grooming products on sale may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition (KCSR(F)).

27. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

28. A dog may be disqualified by the General Committee from any award, whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved amongst other things to have been: a) registered or recorded as having been bred by the scheduled Judge, this shall not apply to a Judge appointed in an emergency; b) exhibited without payment of appropriate entry fees.

29. Every exhibitor shall ensure that whilst the dog is being exhibited, its handler shall display the correct ring number.

• DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES •In the following definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any Show award that counts towards the title of Champion under the Rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club. Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members' classes or competing for Members' Specials each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of postal entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. Monday, 26th March 2018. Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and Variety classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.

If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose one of the following options:- (1) Withdrawal The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulation 20. (2) Transfer a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height the

Show Secretary shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

b) For an exhibit entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy class, Puppy class or Junior class, which is over age but under twelve calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or twenty four calendar months of age respectively, the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy class, Junior class or Yearling class respectively for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling class to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be transferred to any other class.

MINOR PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.NOVICE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or three or more First Prizes at Open and

Championship Shows (Minor Puppy, Special Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).

GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or four or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Graduate, Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.

POST GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or 5 or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open Classes whether restricted or not where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.

OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.IMPORTED BREED REGISTER For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when

an Interim Breed Standard has been published by the Kennel Club. Such breeds may be exhibited in this class only, with the winning dog being eligible for Best in Group / Best Puppy in Group or Best in Show / Best Puppy in Show as relevant.

VETERAN For dogs of seven years and over on the first day of the Show.CHAMPION For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion, show Champion or Field Trial Champion.ANY VARIETY NOT SEPARATELY CLASSIFIED For breeds of dog for which no separate breed

classes are scheduled.

ADVISORY NOTICENOT FOR COMPETITION Societies may at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries.

Societies may accept such entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed.
