Bangalore Ladies Circle 19
Celebrating another year of
Friendship and Service
Hi Everyone,
It is with immense satisfaction that I am penning down these few words of
the year gone by. When I started off as the Chairperson of BLC19, I was
clueless. As a floor circler my experience was limited to bouts of activeness
and back benching for most part. Now that the mantle was upon me, it
suddenly dawned on me what a huge task I had! And not just for a single
project or an activity but for a whole year – 12 months … 365 days …phew!!
It reminded me of a conversation in one of my favorite books-
“Why was I chosen? „Such questions cannot be answered,' said Gandalf. 'You may be sure that it was not for any merit that others do not possess. But
you have been chosen, and you must therefore use such strength and heart and wits as you have.”― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
And so I did, with the heart and strength of the wonderful circle that I am part of the way forward was pretty easy. Circling is amazing. It‟s an
opportunity and an experience presented to you and you can make whatever you want of it. We have friends and we party and we do so many donations
on our own. What makes circling different? There is a certain magic in it. To have friends and to work together and accomplish things, to experience the
complexities and to solve it and strategize it, to sometimes work for things that don‟t eventually pan out and come back from it and to eventually
celebrate the success of it – TOGETHER. It‟s all magical only and only if it‟s done together.
I am glad and grateful for this wonderful opportunity of being the chairperson of my circle, of working with an amazing group of people and to
experience the satisfaction of seeing things happen. I thank each and every 19er for making this year memorable for me and I will cherish each moment of
it forever.
Cheers!
Maansi
Chairperson BLC 19 2012-13
Vibrant team spirit!
It is evident in our day-to-day activities, our meetings, fellowships and the wide range of projects, fundraisers , publicity events, fellowship events that
our nineteeners bring to life with their passion and commitment.
It is the enthusiasm and dedication of the active circlers and tablers, and also the guidance of forever 19ers and 41ers… that has shaped our circle
success this year. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the friends who have once again worked so hard and have contributed
in yet another amazing year of circling.
I will begin first by expressing my deepest appreciation for the one person who has been the biggest support and guide throughout the year- one of the most
dependable and committed person I have had the pleasure to have worked with and who feels deeply for circling and its principles. That‟s my Secretary
Cr. Neha who has the attitude and substance of a genius. When I started this year I did not know her so well and I feel the luckiest person to have worked
with her so closely.. and to have gained a very good friend in the process.
Fundraising as we all know is one of the toughest nuts to crack, and this year I have a lot of people to thank for two successful fundraisers. To begin
with Cr. Shalini who was the heart and soul for the Valentines fundraiser from conceptualization, coordination and execution. She is a force to reckon
with once she has made up her mind. A support not just in fundraising but also in getting donations for Limb donation, dialysis and for getting
sponsors for Tarla Dalal fundraiser she has been a great help.
It‟s a special satisfaction when young circlers perform… and this year we have had amazing contributions from many. Starting with Cr. Tulsi, who
coordinated and organized the Tarla Dalal Fundraiser and was also the convener for Dialysis. With excellent execution and reporting skills, she was the
most important part of the fundraiser‟s success. Our newest inductee Cr. Princy – thanks to her for all the excitement and preciseness with which she
spearheaded 2 projects this year, helped with the fundraisers, participated in area Agms and in inter circle fellowships and for being the spark at all our
socials. Cr. Shrutha for organizing the wonderful fellowship – Make up workshop which has helped me and am sure others as well a lot!
19 has a very big responsibility, to manage and maintain our Community Development Centre ( CDC). Many thanks to Cr. Simi, for having fulfilled
this task perfectly and continually throughout the year.
Service and fellowship, one of the 2 most important aspects of circling. Here I would like to thank Cr. Prerna for being a great project convener. And very
special thanks to Cr. Swati who took up the Limb Donation and Dialysis Project this year and brought it to new heights. A silent and quite worker with
a generous heart. For Fellowship thanks to Cr. Sweta – an excellent convener with some innovative ideas and games. She hates to be in the limelight and
stays behind the scenes but she has worked wonders at organizing fellowships right from the Goa AGM till the final sleepover night.
And now for a very special acknowledgement, to a circler who I have plagued with calls, sms‟s and whatsapps throughout the year. Someone who never says
no, always there to help and guide.. with maximum projects attended this year, helped with all aspects of circling, thanks a lot Cr. Smita Chopra
without whose guidance and support the sail through the year would have been a lot more choppier.
I would like to thank my IPC Kavitha for all her guidance and experience throughout the year, to Vice chairperson Cr. Swapna who was always there to
call and let me know of new ideas and suggestions and helped throughout the year in all activities and Cr. Nidhi for the immaculate accounting that
resulted in a smooth account closure meeting this year.
A special thanks to all conveners- Cr. Roopa for excellently executing the Knights in Khaki, Cr. Jyoti for all the creativity and hard work she has put in
this year and Cr. Goldy for the many twinkler activities this year and Cr. Soniya for her creative help.. Thanks also to all the circlers for their
participation and support –Circlers Neelima, Shilpa, Smitha, Sushma, Tina and HC Selvi.
BRT 7 tablers have been a great support this year as in every year. My special thanks to Tr. Himanshu for help in publicity, Tr. Parshu for being
indispensable in our fundraisers, Tr. Rohit for his help with accounts and applications, Tr Anjanil for the fellowship at Horsely Hills and Tr. Sandeep
who was always proactive in his support for raising sponsorship and Tr Siddhu for this help wth the projects.
A very special thank you to forever 19ers Past LCI president Ashwini, Ranju, Usha, Sirini, Rachna and Kavitha Khemka for always supporting in all our
activities. A thank you to 41ers Sridhar for help in getting us sponsorships and Gopal for being a guide and friend and a great support in raising
donations for our projects.
And finally a special thanks to BRT 7 chairman Tr. Aditya for being a great counterpart, with an attitude of adventure and fun, with great ideas and a
genuine heart. Table and circle collaboration was great this year under him.
I would also like to mention all my fellow chairpersons and conveners of Area 6 and national board. Thanks ladies for all your help.
Thank you all for taking out time from your busy schedules, for putting in your contributions and making this year memorable
Most Sincerely,
Maansi

This Centre is the pride and joy of our table and circle. What started off as a library with books collected from our home, it now has becomes a self-sustainable centre which has a separate fund for itself. The various classes and activities which are held at the centre at a very subsidized rate for the the local community include: Learning Tree Library
Various Classes
Art of Living Pilates TAHATTO REIKI Computer Classes ABACUS Dance Kannada Tuition Maths Tuition Sangeetha YOGA Chitra Dance
It took 7 chairman and 12 chairpersons to get CDC to where it is today through raising funds and helping the centre grow. BLC19 has now taken over the handling and managing of the community centre. A lot of 19ers have worked to get this community centre to where it is especially a special mention for Cr. Usha

The biggest Strength of Bangalore Ladies Circle 19 is the ever sparkling team spirit and the
togetherness and ownership with which we work. A group of women very diverse- some who are
creative, extroverts, introverts, fashionistas, tomboys, competitive. We are each very different and
yet come together brilliantly to achieve the ultimate collaboration. We interact informally to put in our
viewpoint, have great and healthy discussions and think beyond to bring new perspectives. We also
challenge each other’s opinions and play devil’s advocate, but all done in a very constructive manner.
One challenge we face as a circle is the distance, with members living 1.5 hours away from each other.
I would say in spite of that we have an average attendance 60% and look forward to improve it
further in coming years.

Cirling this year was very interesting, lots of fun,
meaningful and very productive year, great bonding, and
fabulous fellowship. Cheers!
Cr. Swapna
Well it has just been a fun filled year with lots of
bonding and friendship. We did everything like a big fat
Indian family “all for one and one for all” Had an
awesome time
Cr. Soniya
With bonding being the core mantra this year, I really got to
bond well with fellow circlers and truly felt at home. A big
kudos to the entire team for a fantastic circling year
Cr. Tulsi
Our circle isn‟t just a community project. We have fun all
nighters, days working in the hot sun, trips that bond us,
stories that leak, more fashion than a red carpet. We are a
circle of sisters
Cr. Goldy
A year of fun friendship and bonding! We played like a
team and did things together. Another super innings of
lc19. Congratulations and cheers girls
Cr. Smita
An electrifying kick-off at Goa and thru the year some
passionate fundraisers, heart warming projects, amazing
fellowships, the year has been truly full of merry making
and cheer
Hon Cr Selvi
A Chilled out year with fantastic laid back super
coordination between fellowships-projects-fundraising!!
Really well organized
Cr Shalini
Bang, Bang, Bang… from start till the end! This is
exactly how the circling year was
Cr. Nidhi
Its been an eventful circling year with a personal touch!
Cr. Neelima
The fulfilled year with lots of projects
Cr Swati
Very fond memories of the year gone by started with a bang,
enjoyed loads of bonding and fun… the highlight was the
discovery of awesome hidden talents amongst old and new
circlers.
Cr. Simi
The year gone by has been complete. Projects, meetings,
events & fellowship have all been slotted, completed &
enjoyed by one & all. Here‟sto a most fulfilling year
Cr. Roopa
Circling was a super hit Bollywood film for me this year
with a little of everything. I enjoyed every bit of it, the
splashing kick start from Goa, the warm house hostings, the
projects, the glamour, gossip, cooking. Arguments,
frustration, fun, bonding, celebrations, disappointments it
was a splendid roller coaster ride that I look forward to
riding again
Cr Prerna
What can I say! It‟s been a year full of all things
beautiful. A balance between parties, fundraisers,
meetings and camping! I have learnt a lot and have a
great deal more to learn. I am so glad that Ankit and
me have become part of this big family.
Cr. Princy
Circling.... for me this year was a lot more interestingly
interactive.... being on Area board as an Area Publicity
Convener, got an opportunity to keep in touch with all the
Chairpersons and many Circlers of other Circles as well and
my dear home Circle was not too far off. The tremendous
support received from all 19ers for my tenure in the Area
board will always stay close to my heart. Loved the fresh zeal
and enthusiasm of all the 19ers headed by the coolest
Chairperson for another awesome cool year
Cr Kavitha
Another fun year has passed by with added feathers
on the ever growing cap of BLC19.. hats off to the
team for ensuring that the whole year was a big
party!
Cr. Shilpa
The year commenced in Goa with fellowship & bonding
being at its level best! The momentum continued with
projects and fellowship going hand in hand. All in
all, it was a very fruitful, fun-filled & eventful
circling year
Cr. Smita Sachin
All the best to incoming Secy Prerna, am sure you shall do a rocking job,
and incoming CP Swapna am looking forward to another path breaking
year.
Dear Friends
It’s been an amazing year, and I am awed to see how much I have
learned over the last 12 months. It’s truly been a pleasure being a
Secretary in Maansi’s year, that lady is a storehouse of surprises , sitting
with her is like opening Pandora’s box, you just don’t know what to expect
next. And she gives new meaning to the word ‘multi-tasking’, I could
barely keep up with her but I really learnt a lot from her.
But that is the beauty of circling, in our circle alone, we have such
diverse personalities and there is so much that we end up learning and
taking from one another. One may be a fashion diva, another a
marketing guru., one may be someone extremely creative and the other
an exemplary homemaker and we all complement each other so well. Most
importantly we end up making some amazing friends.
I have always enjoyed being a circler, but it definitely is something
different when you are on the head board, you just become so much more
aware of different aspects of circling. You realize the intricacies with
which this organization has been formed and how much of an impact we
can make.
One of the most beautiful aspects that I have learned about circling is
that you should never be afraid to ask especially when you are asking for
something for the community and not for yourself. Through Phone calls
and whatsapp we are able to raise funds for emergency heart operations,
cleft operations or to help out in a disaster hit area just within a time
span of a few hours.
I also want to say Hats off to the NEX especially to NP Ramya, NS Namrata
and IT convener Prajakta, you all have truly taken LC India to the next
level, MOMci is a revolutionary step for circling and a big boon to those
who shall take up the post of secretaries in the years to come.
All the best to incoming Secy Prerna, am sure you shall do a rocking job,
and incoming CP Swapna am looking forward to another path breaking
year.
Love Always – Neha
Secretary BLC 19 2012 -2013
…. And another year begins…
