Artist Image Manipulation I used these two images for my artist imagery analysis which helped me decide what type of image I wanted to take for the front cover of my music magazine. I wanted to have an image like the Cher Lloyd one where the artist looks directly into the camera, so there is direct mode of address, but I also wanted the simplicity like the image of Ed Sheeran where the background doesn’t take away focus from the artist and keeps them as the main point of interest and I also wanted the image I took to be a medium shot, like the Ed Sheeran image. The image I first took needed editing to make it more to how I aimed it to be, it also would make the image look more professional. I zoomed in on the image to turn it from a medium long shot to a medium shot. This change also made the direct mode of address stronger. I changed the hue/saturation on the picture to get more definition on the artists face. I used a white wall as the background of the image so it was simple and wouldn’t take any focus away from the artist.

Artist Image Manipulation

I used these two images for my artist imagery analysis which helped me decide what type of image I

wanted to take for the front cover of my music magazine. I wanted to have an image like the Cher

Lloyd one where the artist looks directly into the camera, so there is direct mode of address, but I

also wanted the simplicity like the image of Ed Sheeran where the background doesn’t take away

focus from the artist and keeps them as the main point of interest and I also wanted the image I took

to be a medium shot, like the Ed Sheeran image.

The image I first took needed editing to make it more to how I aimed it to be, it also would make the

image look more professional. I zoomed in on the image to turn it from a medium long shot to a

medium shot. This change also made the direct mode of address stronger. I changed the

hue/saturation on the picture to get more definition on the artists face. I used a white wall as the

background of the image so it was simple and wouldn’t take any focus away from the artist.
