Over 2 and a half thousand years ago, The Great Wall Of China was built. Reaching over 5,000 Km long it is an extremely popular landmark to visit in China. It was built by emperor Qin Shi huangdi. He was the first emperor of china. He built the wall for protection from the evil enemies lurking about in china.

The forbidden city is located in the centre of Beijing. It is rectangular shaped and covers 74 hectares. The forbidden city is surrounded by a 6 metre deep moat and a 10 metre high wall. Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family the roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles.

In Beijing on the 22.08.08 the Olympics finished for another four years. The Olympics were amazing and the closing ceremony was great with all its beautiful fireworks!!! It was being watched by thousands in the audients and by millions more on the TV. The torch was put out by an extinguisher and was carried away to London for the next Olympic games.

The symbol of the Olympic Games is composed of five interlocking rings, coloured blue, yellow, black, green, and red on a white background. The five Olympic rings represent the five continents and were designed in 1913. They were designed by Baron Pierre De Coubertin. The reason that the rings are linked is because the five continents are being brought together to the Olympics!

The Olympics were created in Greece to help the soldiers stay strong and in shape while not at war with events such as shot-put. People were trained as human cannons .Pole-vault and high jump helped people get over large walls

The Summer Palace is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The Palace was built the 12 century. It was built as an imperial palace It covers the area of 304 hectares. The water and hill sceneries look awesome next to the palace.

The Temple of heaven is located in the southern part of china. It is Beijing's largest existing complex of sacrificial buildings. Covering the area of 273 hectares, this lovely tourist attraction is great for wedding anniversaries or honeymoons. Highly recommended to visit for a nice peaceful holiday.

The high jump technique has changed more than any other track or field event since the 1896 Athens games. Jumpers have jumped over feet first and head first belly down. Competers now enjoy jumping head first belly up.

High jumpers must remain calm as later rounds put on pressure.

Netball is a non-contact sport similar to basketball. Netball was created when a gym teacher at a high school misunderstood the rules of basketball. There are seven players in a netball team and seven different positions such as, centre, goal shoot, goal keep, wing attack, wing defence, goal attack, and goal defence.

He is the Olympic champion and the 2008 World champion.Ashley placed 2nd two years previous at the 2006 World Championships. During the event the top-10 sailors were selected to sail the final race, called the medal race. Before the start of the medal race Ashley was in first position, only one point in front of Casper Bouman from the Netherlands. Bouman finished second in the medal race, one position in front of Ashley. Both sailors then had the same points (23), but Bouman was crowned as the World champion thanks to his better position during the medal race. Tom went to Kings Prep in Auckland.

Alexander Mahe Owens Drysdale (born November 19, 1978) is a New Zealand rower and three-time World Champion single sculler.Born in Melbourne, Australia, Drysdale began rowing at university at the age of 18. He gave up rowing to concentrate on his studies, but began rowing again after watching fellow New Zealander Rob Waddell win gold at the 2000 Olympic Games.
