Currency The national currency of Estonia is called the Kroon. The Kroon is abbreviated as EEK. The smaller unit is called the Sent, 1 kroon = 100 sents. The kroon is pegged to the EURO at 1 EUR = app. 15.65 EEK. Foreign currencies can be easily exchanged in banks and exchange offices. There are exchange offices in several hotels, in the port of Tallinn, at the airport, the railway station and many other places. Credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard/Eurocard, Diner’s Club, American Express etc. are accepted in most of the major hotels, restaurants and shops, but ask first. Most banks will give cash advances on credit cards supported by a valid passport.

Since December 21st, 2007, there is no longer a passport control for • individuals and transportation vehicles at ferry terminals, airports and border crossings within the boundaries of the European Union including Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The speed limit in Baltic Countries for motor transport in built-up areas is • 50 km/h, outside built-up areas - 90 km/h; some sections 100 km/h.

Short-distance lights have to be used all the year round including daylight • hours in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

It is prohibited to use cellular phones while driving apart from cases when • Hands Free system is used.

The blood alcohol while driving has to be 0• ‰
