Dear Paula,

I hope this letter finds all of you in the best of health and spirits. It has been a very long t ime since we met or wrote to each other. So I thought of penning down a few lines to check things with you.

W e just got back from our vacation to Thai land and had a great t ime. You must see the amazing places there. If you happen to ever plan a hol iday to that side of the world do let me know and I shall give you tips on s ight seeing, shopping, etc.

I want to share something that is disturbing me these days. Mom has not been keeping good health and I am really worr ied for her. Somet imes I see bad dreams about mom and they wake me up in the middle of the night. I am sure you know what bad dreams I am talking about. A Picnic by the Sea

Teluk Kemang is about 12 ki lometres from Port Dickson town in Neger i Sembi lan. It is a popular beach where many people go to and relax on.

It was on one of the days of the Chinese New Year holidays that we had a picnic at Teluk Kemang. I went there with my uncle and his family. There were five of us, my uncie, his wife, their two young children and me. My uncle drove us there in his car.

We arrived there at about ten in the morning. The beach was already r o w d e d with ether hol iday-makers. Anyhow we managed to get a place in the shade of a large tree and we put our things there. My aunt laid out a mat for us to sit on .

In double-quick t ime we were enjoying ourselves in the sea, except my a u n t She jus t sat on the mat watching us.

The water was cool and refreshing and I loved splashing it on my cous ins. However the hot sun above can be quite uncomfortable. So after about a _ hour o r so, my unde told us to sit in the shade for a whi le. The sun was :e:Sng increasingly h o t So we reluctantly came out of the sea. In the shade of s ome trees w e b u i t some sandcastles.

T ime passed so quickly. Soon we heard my aunt calling us to have lunch, e ran to her and helped ourselves to the delicious curry she had brought. Then e had several glasses of ice-cold drink f rom the Thermos flask.

After lunch we played a while more in the sea. The sun was just too hot. S: we walked over to one of the hotels nearby and washed ourselves with clean freshwater.

When we returned, my aunt had already packed everything in the car. So all of us got into the car and my uncle drove us back home to Seremban.

Turkeys are large birds that are related to other game birds such as pheasants, chickens and quails. Despite their large size, turkeys are adept fl iers and can be seen flying beneath the forest canopy looking for somewhere to perch.

Turkeys do nest in the trees. They are most commonly found in open forests,, woodlands and grasslands.

KOTA GEDE

Kota Gede, which is often called Sargede is situated about f ive ki lometers southeast of Yogyakarta. Kotagede is a neat little town, which was once the seat of the mighty Mataram Empire. Since 1930s, Kotagede has become famous for being the center of the Yogya si lverwork industry. There are a number of workshops where visitors are welcome to watch si lver being transformed into beautiful works of art known as "Yogya Silver". Kotagede is easily reached by "andong", the four-wheeled horse-drawn cart, by taxi , bus, or car.

In Kota Gede there is also cemetery complex. One of them is the cemetery of the Mataram kings like Sutowijoyo or Ngabei Loring Pasar, the founder of Mataram Kingdom, who was then called Panembahan Senopat i . There is also the unique tomb of Ki Ageng Mangir. He was Panembahan Senopati son in law and also Panembahan Senopati enemy. His dead body was buried half inside of the special area for kings and Panembahan Senopat i families, and a half of his body was buried outside of the complex. There is a stone called "Watu Gi lang", a stone on which Panembahan Senopati smashed the Ki Ageng Mangir head to dead.

The Penny Wise Monkey

There was a King who was fond of travel ing, but he didn't like to visit his own country. Instead, he went to other countries. One day, he left his k ingdom with his soldiers for hunting. After walk ing for the whole morning in the forest, they took some rest. Then the soldiers fed the horses with peas.

One of the monkeys was keeping a track of the things done by the king's men from a distance. When he saw peas offered to the horses, he jumped down at once to get some of them. He soon filled his mouth and hands with the peas and then went up the tree and sat down to eat them. Suddenly, one pea fell f rom his hand to the ground. The monkey dropped all the peas he had in his hands and ran down to iook for the lost pea at once. Unluckiiy, he could not f ind that pea. He c l imbed up the tree again and sat at rest. He looked very sad . He said to himself, "To get one pea, I threw away what I had".
