AboutBadgeCertJustcompletedacontinuingeducationcourse?Achievecertificationinyourindustryarea?WelcometotheworldofBadgeCert.Ourcompanyworkswithyourverifiedissuingorganizationtorecognizeyourachievementsinasecure,portableformcalledadigitalbadge,orBadgeCert.Theycanbesharedviasocialnetworking,email,andonyourwebsite.HowtoreceiveyourBadgeCertUponcompletionoftheprogramissuingyourBadgeCert,youwillreceiveacongratulationsemail(Figure1)withaURL(websiteaddress)thatreferencesyourpersonalsharingportfoliowithyourBadgeCert(s).TheURLcanbeincluded/displayedinyouremailsignature,resume,oronsocialnetworkingtools.Figure1:Initialcongratulationsemail

SharingyourpersonalURLThereareanumberofwaystoshareyourcustomURLviaemailandsocialnetworkingtools.Examplesshownbelowinclude:

LinkedInprofileUsethismethodifyouhaveaURLlinkonlyanddonotlogintotheBCwebportal.Toaddacertification/BadgetoyourLinkedInprofilepage,followthesedirections:

1. LogintoLinkedInandclicktheMeiconatthetopofyourLinkedInhomepage.2. ClickViewprofile.

3. Ifyou'vepreviouslyaddedacertificate,scrolldowntotheAccomplishmentssectionandclickAddandselectCertifications.**Ifyou'veneveraddedacertification,you'llfirstwanttoaddaCertificationssection.OnyourprofilepageclickAddprofilesectionbutton,clicktheArrowiconnexttoAccomplishments.NexttoCertifications,clicktheAddicon.

4. TypeinyourcertificationinformationasshowninFigure2.YoucanobtainalloftheinformationthatyouneedtoinputifyouclickonAddtoLinkedInfromeitheryourportfolio,orfromtheinitial“Congratulations”emailyoureceivedwhenyouearnedthebadge.

5. AmenudisplayingcompanieswillappearasyoutypeintheCertificationauthorityfield.Besuretoselectthecorrectauthorityfromthemenusotheirlogoappearsnexttothecertificationonyourprofile.Note:Thelogooftheorganizationwillappearonyourprofile,notthebadgeimage.

6. ProvideyourBadge/CertificationNameintheCertificationnamefieldandaddtheURLlinkforyourBCportfoliointheCertificationURLfield

CreatinganemailsignatureOutlooksignatureYoucancreatepersonalizedsignaturesforyouremailmessagesthatincludeaniconforviewerstoseeandconnecttoyourBadgeCertportfolio/badges.Yourorganizationmayalreadyprovideyouthissignatureicon,youcanusethebadgeimageitself,oryoumayuse“myBadgeCertportfolio(Figure3).”Whenthemessagerecipientclickstheiconinthesignature,anewbrowserwindowopensandyourBadgeCertportfolioappears.1. ToincludeyourBadgeCertimageandlinkinyouremailsignature,right-clickonthebadgeimageyou

wishtoshare.YoucanfindtheimagebyfollowingtheurllinkinyourinitialissuanceemailFigure1.Onceyoufindtheimageandright-click,selectSavepicture(orimage)asandsave/storetheicontoyourcomputer.

4. InversionssuchasOutlook2010,ontheMessagetab,intheIncludegroup,clickSignature,andthen

clickSignatures.InmorerecentversionssuchasOutlook2013,gotoOptions→Mail→SignatureasshowninFigure3.OntheMessagetab,intheIncludegroup,clickSignature,andthenclickSignatures.

5. UnderChoosedefaultsignature,intheE-mailaccountlist,clickane-mailaccountwithwhichyouwanttoassociatethesignature.

6. Ifyouwantasignaturetobeincludedwhenyoureplytoorforwardmessages,intheReplies/forwardslist,selectthesignature.

7. AsshownintheredboxinFigure4,clickthepictureandbrowsefortheiconyousavedtoyourcomputer.Thenclickreference,toincludeyourBadgeCertURLfromFigure1.
