ResultsA total a t 9 weak anomalies were detected with the EH 17.

In ciany areas of the grid, the out of phase (OP) readings, were abonrnally high. This high background level decreased as islands or the mainland was approached leading me to suspect that in many areas water and or overburden was to deep for our instrument.

Anomally A is a l iine conductor located on an island on line 16 North. 33+5O West. It has a moderate to weak conduct ivity and a -15O gamma bullseye magnetic anomally centred over it.

Anomally t is a weak out of phase tOF) anema lly which was detected on 3 lines. It is approximately SOO ft in length and strikes from Line 2* North. 37+50 West to Line 32+OO. North 36+50 West. A weak, -75 gamma low is associated with this a r. o ma l l y.

Anomally C is a wide weak in phase i IP) anomally which was detected on Z l ines and remains open to the north. It strikes fron Lineie+OO Mor th. 44+GOU'est to Line 20+QO North. 4.4+00 Uest. A weak -SG gamma magnetic low is associated with this amomally on Line 2O+OO Uest.

Anomally O is a very weak in phase i IP) anomally which traverses the grid from Line 3+GC South. 43+5O West to Line 24-i-GO North. 52+00 Uest. This anomally is open in both directions. It is strongest on Lines 6+OO South and 2G+OO North. There is no discernable magnetic anomally associated sith this conductor.

Anomally E is a weak in phase i IP) conductor which traverses the grid from Line 6+OO South, 54+OOUest to Line 4+OG North.Se+OO Uest. Although this is a weak anomally it is important as it lies directly on strike to the known Cu showing on the lake shore. The copper showing is located 15O ft south of the conductor intercept on line 4+OO South. This ancrnally lies in a -50 gamma magnetic low.

Anomally F is a very weak in phase (IPi conductor. Its significance is unkown other than the fact that it Iles between anomalies D and E and runs parralel with t&em. It traverses the grid from Line 4+OO South. 51+5O Uest to Line 8+GG North, 52+OO Uest. No magnetics is associated with this anootal ly.

Anomally G is a very weak in phase l IP) anomally. It traverses the grid from Line 3+OO South, 43+5C Uest to Line 8+00 North. 45+OO Uest. This anomally lies in a wide -SO gamma low.

Ancmally H, like anomally H is very weak. Anomally H lies 15O ft. east of anomally G on Lines 4+OO and 8+00 North.

Anomally I is a l line in phase anomally. It is located on Line 16+OO North, 39+5O Uest. It lies within a weak magnetic low.

020THOMPSON PROPERTY ..,_____._ ____.

The Thonpson property consists of 3 claim blocks, nuabers K1161363, 64 and 65, for a total of 45 claims. These blocks were staked to cover a large airborne magnetic anomally which is believed to be an anorthosite which may carry mineralization sim!l tar to the Gray Turtle Property. A previous owner had discovered a zone of magnetite mesuring up to 1OO ft in width and 3OOO ft in length. It is believed that the magnetite may be an oxidized cap similiar to that found on the Gray Turtle Property.

The property lies on the Heron Lake claim map (G2676) and stradles the south end of Tesup Lake. Access is via-the Manion Lake Road, north for 25 kms. from -Highway 11, then west along a logging road for 1/2 a mile to the Turtle River. The Turtle River must be crossed by boat, a distance of approximately 2OO ft, then by bush road for a distance of 5 miles to within a 1/2 mile of the south end of Tesup Lake. This bush road is suitable for ATV vehicles. One creek must be crossed midway between the Turtle River arid Tesup Lake. Duiing the winter months access Is possible via the Heron Lake Road a distance of 13 kms from the Turtle River Road then overland a distance of 3 kms on foot or with a skidoo. A large swamp makes this route Impassable in the summer months.

Two (2) days were spent prospecting the eastern claim block (1161493). Three days were spent fixing the road for tge ATV. The claim block is underlain by a complicated sequence of felsic to mafic gniesses and migmatites. Metamorphic grade is upper amphibolite facies. The units on the sketch map are generalized rock claslfications based mainly on the percentage of mafic minerals. The entire claim block has been cut over approximately 8 to 1O years ago which was then followed by a fire. The vegatation consists of jackpine, birch and willow. The topography is flat, rarely more than SO feet, and is sand and gravel covered. Outcrop density is generally poor, approximately 5 to 10*. Two * anorthositic bodies were.found. There relationship to each other and the magnetite zone on the west side of Tesup Lake is unknown. A large swamp on the south end of Tesup stopped us from gaining access to the west side of Tesup Lake.

Line cutting and a horizontal EM survey is planed for this winter. Any mapping on the grid will require access to be via float plane and a camp established.

Seine River Property. In November or 1992 an agreement was reached with Ansil

Resources of Toronto, where by Ansil has the right to review our date and carry on exploration as they see fit on the Seine River and Bad Vermilion Properties. On or before February 28 th. 1993. Ansil may make a cash payment to us to make the agreement binding past Feb. 26th. 1993. The work performed by HcCormick and Bolen was done at our own expense in an attempt to enhance the property. Ansil has done an IP survey on the lines recut by us on the Seine River Property and drilled B holes tor approxinately 26oo ft. Ue believe that Ansil has spent about *6O,OOO since November. The results of there work is unknown to us at this time as are there plans over the next month. It is hoped that the Geophyics completed by us on Island Bay of Bad Vermilion wiI encourage Ansil to drill off the ice sometime in the next month.

GRAY TURTLE CuNi GCCURRAIJCE

Location/AccessThe property is located in the Sandbeach Lake area

approximately SO kilometers east Moitheast of Hine Centre, Ontario. The property can be accessed by road from Highway 11 north 12 kilometers on the Manion Lake Road then east 21 kilometers on the Gray Trout road to the Turtle River.

PropertyPresently twenty two claim blocks consisting of 312

claims have been stake. The property is located within the Western Wabigoon Greenstone belt in the Irene-Eltrut Lakes Batholithic Complex. Locally the rocks are hornblende biotite gneiss containing meianosomes of hornblendite and rafts of pelitic metasediments (chlorite biotite schist). Both pelitic metasedimentary and hornblende gneiss units are cut by pegmatite and aplite dykes. The occurrence is hosted by a previously unrecorded anorthosite bod/ of unknown extent.

The showing was discovered when a rock cut uas blasted for a bridge to cross the Little Turtle River. When the rock was bulldozed, a sulphide occur rance measuring approximately 15-by-2O feet was exposed. The sulphides did not come to surface. Sulphides in order of abundance are chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pyrite with some magnetite in the oxidized areas. Two samples of the po. p> rich material assayed 1.46 and 1.76 Cu with .17 and .33k Hi and .i* Co.Mineralization is variable from massive, coarse-grained chalco to disseminated and fracture fillings.

Nine grab samples across the showing, caine back January, 10, 1992 from assay at Swastika Lab. They averaged 2 . la* copper, .361*. nickel and .116* cobalt.

In the immediate vicinity of the showing, the rocks are a

leuco gneiss-plagloclase rich less than lufc dark minerals (hornblende/biotlteJ with a pervasive bleached colour to the rock throughout the outcrop. In areas proximal to mineralization the rock takes on a pervasive gray-green colour with an extremely tine grained matrix. The protolith to this gneissic rock was probably an anorthoclte. Plagioclase crystals showing schiller reflection in a cut sample from the showing again suggests an anorthositic protolith.

In the vicinity of the occurrance gneissosity strikes north 60 to 7O degrees east, and dips 6O degrees to the northwest. An elongate airborne magnetic anomally trends northeasterly indicating a discordance between locally measured trends and inferred trends from the airborne magnetic maps. The airborne magnetic anomally is approximately one mile long and intrudes into a linear zone or low magnetics IB miles long. This linear low is interpreted to be intermediate to felsic volcanics or sediments. The grade of metamorphism has destroyed all remanate structure and makes identification of the protolith speculative.

Work to DateThe area has no recorded history of exploration; no

other mineral occurrances are known and the mapping is of the two mile to one inch reconnaissance type (.Sage eta l 1974). At least one other outcrop of anorthosite is known north of the Quetico Fault along the i^lenorchy-tlanlon Lake hoad.

The HEMconductors lay in a zone approximately l,BOO feet wide and extend off the grid to the NE and SU. The conductors lay on the south flank to the airborne magnetic anomally and extend south from the magnetic high for a distance of l,BOO feet. A zone of magnetics is located immediately south of the conductors bracketing a magnetic low containing the conductors. Magnetics up to 1,OOG gammas are locally associated with the conductors. The magnetic survey was conducted with a Scintrix MP2 magnetometer.

The area around the discovery and HEM conductors on the property have been prospected by my partner and mysel*. No mineralization was found and no samples were taken. In light of the fact that the discovery did not outcrop and that the geophysics seem to indicate the conductive zones may be at the limit of the Instruments penal f at ion. trenching was not considered as an option.

The Immediate area or the showing was trenched in an along-strike direction. As the ioad bed now covers most of the showing, trenching was confined to the ditch along the rood bed. The samples collected were taken from the road bed when the backhoe used in construction uas clearing the rock cut and before the road was layed down. Trenching failed to extend the showing as space was very limited in which to work. A trench was blasted at the western boundary of the property near Moosetrack Lake. A zone of shearing in quartz-biotite gneiss Lsiltstone-sandstone] contained

Page 10: BAD VERMILION PROP - Ontario · BAD VERMILION PROPERTY The Bad Vermilion Property is located on claim map Bad Vermilion (G2S65). The property consists of a group of 25 claims which

numerous i to 1O cm wide quartz veins containing up to 2O K arsenopyrite. Three samples were taken and assayed for gold. Samples 1253O9, 31O and 311 returned nil values.

1992 OPAP ReportIn the spring ot 1992. Athlone Resources moved a drill on

to the property. A total of 5 short holes were drilled. Three (3) in the area or the showing on anomally X, minor diseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite over norrow widths was intersected which was not economic. One (U hole was drilled on anomally Y, a wet brecciated granite was intersected, no sulphide mineralization was found. One i lj hole was attempted on anomally Z. beep overburden was intersected and the hole was abandon at 1O7 feet. Athlone Resources then stopped drilling and returned the property to us in mid July.

After the propei t/ was returned we at. t em ted to find an new showing to try and get another company interested. A beep mat was rented and a beep mat survey was carried out over the property. All areas east of Line 20 West which contained outcrop or possibalv shallow overburden was extensively covered. Two (2) areas were found Lo have weal; conductivity? Line 12 East at 12 South and l- East at tt South. A post hole auger was used to profile the conductive rone. It was found that the conductivity was due to a la/er ot red clay approximately 2 feet thick which was covered by a l foot thick layer of sand. Numerous spots.with high magnetics were discovered with the beep mat. These magnetics were without exception due to hornblende clasts and sills which contained locally up to 15* magnetite. The magnetics were wide spred and were found where ever outcrop was encountered.

In an attempt to find larger and stronger conductors, the grid was expanded to the west and north. Some inrill lines were cut to better define some of the conductors. Presently a minimum of 26 conductors have been found on the present grid. The conductors seem to increase in strength and width to the west. Presently at least 5 strong conductors go off the grid to the west. The grid will be expanded in the future.

A trench was blasted on line 28 west. J: south in an attempt to uncouver conductors I an J. An area of outcrop 1OO feet long was tienuhed between the conductors. Deep overburden stopped us from uncovering the conductors. A narrow zone, 1C feet, or disseminated p^ite was round but no chalcopyrite was seem. No samples were sent for assay.

Ue were very disapointed wth the work that Atha l one Resources had done, in an effort to find out about the conductors we tryed to drill them with our own winkle drill. The drill was set up on Line 4 west at 4 South. The hole was collared at SO degrees to the south. Ue encountered nO f t of fine sand and boulders. During this attemt the casing and core barrel was lost In a boulder. AS we did not ha/e another core barrel drilling was abandon.

It is our belief that we presently have enough geophysical data to interest a major. Our' hope Is to have a company commit to all our property and fly an airborne input
