A. Scope

The Beijer Cluster Gauge allows the wireline truck operator to have a backup depth that is encoder based. The Scancon is a 300-pulse-per-revolution encoder that runs from 5- to- 30VDC (voltes direct current). The Beiger Gauge drives this encoder at 24VDC. The software on the Beijer screen enables the operator to set surface depth and downhole depth easily.

B. The GeoLog Measuring Head.

Your model may vary from the Geolog 20-20 2-ft Measuring Head shown below.

C. Screen Functions

1) Main backup depth screen To operate the screen for surface or downhole depth control, begin with the main (default) Back-Up Depth screen (If your screen is not here, touch the Back-Up Depth icon located on the top right corner of the screen; however, your default screen may still look different).2) Depth Reset

When setting the depth at ground level, touch the Depth Reset depth icon at the top left corner of the screen.3) Depth Adjust

When setting the depth downhole, touch the Depth Adjust.

4) Ground Level setting When at ground level (GL), touch the Depth Reset button to set the Back-Up Depth counter to zero (0.0).

5) Downhole Depth To adjust downhole depth, touch the Depth Adjust icon on the main screen.6) Depth Increase

Touch the Depth Inc icon to increase the Back-Up Depth counter number.7) Depth Decrease

Touch the Depth Dec icon to decrease the Back-Up Depth counter.8) Reset Adjust

Touching the Reset Adjust icon will return the screen setting to its original downhole depth as long as the Enter button has not been touched. The Reset Adjust button will not reset to the original setting if the operator touches the “Enter” button.9) Back-up Depth

Touching the Depth Inc icon will increase the Back-Up Depth counter number and will speed up exponentially the longer the button is held (slower to faster). Conversely, touching the Depth Dec icon will decrease the Back-Up Depth counter number. This button also speeds exponentially. 10) Depth Adjustment

When the depth adjustment is correct, touch Enter to set the depth counter.

11) Cable Size The cable size is also selectable in this screen. The line sizes available are 7/32, 1/4, 9/32 and 5/16. Select the appropriate line size and touch Enter.

12) Drum Counter Touch the Back-Up Depth icon on the upper right corner to go to the main Back-up Depth screen. The Drum Counter icon will be displayed on the bottom left corner of the Back Up Depth screen.

13) Drum Rotation Counter If the Drum Rotation icon on the right of the screen is selected, the Drum Rotation Counter (DRC) screen will be displayed and the Back Up Depth icon will be located on the bottom right side of the screen.

14) Hydraulic Temperature Touch the Hyd icon to display the hydraulic system pressure, charge pressure, hydraulic temperature and air pressure. The Back Up Depth will be minimized in the bottom right corner.

15) Main Screen Touch the Back-Up Depth icon to return to the main depth screen.
