Our Philosophy We believe every child can succeed and

every one of them learns differently. Therefore, it is our job to look at each child as an individual and teach them in a way that matches their learning style.

Our classroom should be a place where every child feels happy, safe, loved, and respected.

Behavior SystemIn our classroom we have a system set up called Classroom Dojo.

Students are able to acquire points based on their behavior in and out of the classroom.

If a student is on task or makes good choices, he or she receives a point. On the other hand, if the student is off task or making bad choices, he or she looses points.

Based on the point system their clips will go up or down on the behavior chart.

If a student receives four or more points he or she is considered off the chart. We will place a rhinestone on their clip. When the student fills their clip with rhinestones, they will receive a special prize. On the other hand if the student looses 3 or more points, you will be contacted.

Students also color their monthly behavior chart daily to make them accountable for their choices.

Homework It is handed out every Monday and returned on Fridays complete. This includes the

weekly reading log. If the homework is not turned in without a valid excuse, then your child will not receive a sticker. When students complete 5 consecutive weeks of homework, the student will receive a special prize.

It consists of learning targets taught throughout the week and continuous skill practices.

Some hands on activities may not be required to be turned in ; however, it is really important that they are done at home since they are activities that continue to build skills taught in class.

Please read to your child every night and answer the questions for each night on the reading log.

Don’t forget to sign the cover page each week, which indicates you went over the homework and it is complete.

Tools/pages inside the homework folder should stay inside the folder. These pages are to help the students when working on their homework.

To earn a 4, students must do more than the packet provided.
