Important Notes about This MSU Major
The Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies requires you to have a minor. If you are interested in taking additional seated (classroom) courses, consider the minor in Technical Writing. There will be a variety of seated and online courses, that are needed to complete this minor, available at the Table Rock Campus. Please consult with your advisor regarding other online minor options.
To be officially admitted to this degree program, students must have:
•Completedatleast59credithours •CompletedtheGeneralEducationBasicRequired Courses (which are met through OTC’s AA degree) •Acombined(MSUandtransfer)GPAof2.50orhigher or have a GPA of 2.75 for the last 30 completed hours •CompletedCOM115(OTC’sSPE102),MED120(OTC’s COM 102) and COM 209 (through MSU) with a GPA of 2.50 or higher.
Students should consult with their COM advisor when selecting COM electives to fulfill degree requirements.

With the Associate of Arts you will have met MSU’s general education requirements. Your advisor will assist you in the selection of your courses. The following fully transferable courses will be included as they fulfill a vital part of your MSU major requirement.

Transfer to Missouri State!
To transfer to MSU, you must:
1. Apply for admission and submit a $35 application. Apply online at: www.MissouriState.edu/admissions/transfer .

3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Turn in your application before March 31st to take full advantage of financial assistance.
