The RN-BS Program is designed for registered nurses who wish to obtain their bachelor’s degree in nursing. Classes are offered through a combination of online and in-class participation. RN- BS students meet for classes every other Tuesday during the fall and spring semesters, and every Tuesday during the summer semester. The weeks that students do not attend class in person, they will complete work online using Blackboard. The program encourages student-student and faculty- student bonding through a specialized RN-BS orientation experience at the beginning of the program. Students are admitted to the program in both the fall and spring semesters. The RN-BS program is offered exclusively in Greenville, South Carolina at the University Center of Greenville.

The RN-BS Program is designed for registered nurses who wish to obtain their bachelor’s degree in nursing. Classes are offered through a combination of online

and in-class participation. RN-BS students meet for classes

The RN-BS program is offered exclusively in Greenville, South Carolina at the University Center of Greenville.

Admission Requirements:

• Current South Carolina Registered Nurse (must hold an active license without restrictions).

• Graduate of a nationally-accredited nursing program or accredited university.

• Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on all attempted college courses.

• To enroll in the RN-BS courses at the University Center of Greenville you must also have completed all of the BS in Nursing Prerequisite Requirements. For a list of these requirements, please visit our website at www.clemson.edu/hehd/departments/nursing/academics/degrees/bs_for_rns.

Steps for Admission:

• Set up an appointment with RN-BS Student Services Program Coordinator.

• At the time of the appointment, an informal review of transcripts will take place.

Application Deadline: May 15th for the Fall semester. October 15th for the Spring semester.

• Transcripts from all previous colleges/universities must be reviewed.

• If eligible, you will be notified of the steps to apply.

• Complete final prerequisite requirements at a local technical college. These classes must be completed prior to beginning the Clemson nursing courses.

Upon Entering the Program:

• You will receive 31 semester hours of credit upon completing Nursing 406, Issues in Professionalism, with a B or higher. This course validates your previous nursing knowledge from your associate degree program.

• Successfully complete 31-34 semester hours of Clemson University nursing and related courses at the University Center of Greenville.
