The origin

The origins of the Aztec Empire began in the "Triple Alliance" formed by the Alcolhuas of Texcoco, the Tepanecs of Tlacopan and the Mexicas. They controlled the valley of Mexico.

Language

Nahuatl is the language of the Aztec culture appeared in the seventh century. At the end of the tenth century began its diffusion over other Mesoamerican languages to become the official language of most of Mesoamerica.

Traditions and Ceremonies

New Fire

One of its main ceremonies was the new fire, which consisted of setting fire to a temple and sacrifice an important person for the empire. They made this every cycle of 52 years to get the sun back out another cycle.

What do they eat?

Their main meal was the corn, with the it they prepared a food called Tlaxcalli and another type of food was Tamal. Aztecs also eat tomato and peanuts, they drunk chocolate that was made with cacao.

This is a typical costume of an Aztec warrior. It’s made of a feathers hull , a shield to fend off his rivals, a knife and a loincloth on his hip.
