AZRYAIN BORHAN
Azryain is the Director of the Companies Commission of Malaysia
(SSM) Training Academy since May 2011. Previously, Azryain was the
Director of Corporate Development and Policy Division, Companies
Commission of Malaysia since joining SSM
in April 2007.
Between August 2010 and May 2011, Azryain was seconded to the
Prime Minister‟s Office Special Innovation Unit (Unit Inovasi Khas -
UNIK) where he was instrumental in conceiving the idea for the setting
up of a dedicated statutory body for innovation, structuring and thereafter drafting the Agensi
Inovasi Malaysia Act 2010. He also advised the Prime Minister‟s Office on the Perumahan
Rakyat 1 Malaysia (PR1MA) initiative.
Prior to joining SSM, Azryain was the Assistant Vice President, Legal and Secretarial in
Khazanah Nasional Bhd between May 2006 and April 2007. Between August 2000 and
December 2004, Azryain served the Securities Commission (SC) as a Senior Prosecuting
Officer in the Enforcement Division and later as a Senior Associate in the Securities Issues
Division. Azryain had also served as a legal advisor to a corporate figure between 2004 and
2006, serving as a Legal Manager in Borcos Shipping Sdn. Bhd. While there, he was also
seconded to Biotech Medical Corporation Sdn Bhd as a Deputy General Manager (Legal).
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1998.
Azryain was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in July 1999
upon completion of his pupilage with Messrs. Shearn Delamore & Co. He also briefly practiced
with Messrs. Khaw & Partners and Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners in the areas of corporate
advisory and general litigation respectively.

YM TENGKU TAN SRI (DR) MAHALEEL ARIFF
Tengku Tan Sri ( Dr) Mahaleel has more than 40 years of a very diverse
career background including Consumer Food marketing , Tobacco,
Downstream Oil, Leisure Marine, Aviation including Ground Handling,
Automotive, Printing & Property Development. He is also involved in the
Academia.
He commenced his career in Sales & Marketing Department of Nestle
before moving to Shell Malaysia for 20 years, his last position being
Marketing Director. He joined New Toyo to expand operations into
China & Australia before joining Mofaz and then Proton Holdings, his
last position being the C.E.O.
Currently he is the Chairman of Tien Wah Press Holdings & a Director of New Toyo Singapore.
He serves as the Distinguished Advisor to the Graduate School of Business Universiti Sains
Penang and is a Business Consultant with USM Serve –U unit. He is also on the University
Malaya Advisory Panel for Performance Excellence and had also served as a Regional Director
for London Business School for 7 years and is now in the office of Distinguished Friends.
He is also a Trustee of Perdana Global Peace Foundation and had represented Malaysia before
as one of 3 representatives on Asia Pacific Economic Council and Asean Business Advisory
Council.
During his course of work he received awards for his contributions. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by University Technology Malaysia Johore for his contributions to Malaysia‟s engineering capability. In 2001 he was named as Malaysia‟s CEO of the year by Business Times & American Express. In 2004 he was named Automotive Man of the Year at the New Straits Times & Mastercard awards. For his contributions to the nation he received the national award of PJN, P.S.M, & Kelantan‟s D.P.M.K.
Tengku graduated from University of Malaya in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts ( Honours) majoring
in History and Economics. He also attended additional Diploma Courses in Marketing & Contract
Law. In the course of his career he received various training in wide range of management
courses from Manchester Business School, London School of Economics and Harvard
Business School.
Apart from his corporate achievements he was also the Malaysian Motorsports Rally Champion, Junior Champion in Badminton Malacca and Radio Malaysia Music Talent National Runner Up.
He now does his own charity work for the Village poor in his home state of Kelantan.

YM TENGKU DATO’ ZAFRUL BIN TENGKU ABDUL AZIZ
Zafrul joined Maybank Investment Bank Berhad as its Chief Executive Officer
on 21 June 2010. Previously, he was the Group Director of Kenanga
Holdings Berhad and Director of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad.
Prior to joining Kenanga Group, he was the CEO and substantial shareholder
of Tune Money Sdn Bhd. He joined Tune Money Sdn Bhd after serving as
the Head of Investment Banking in Citigroup Malaysia.
Before that, he was Group Managing Director of Avenue Capital Resources
(now ECM Libra), a listed company specialising in financial services –
investment banking and fund management. He was also Chief Executive
Officer of Avenue Securities and the Chairman of Avenue Asset Management.
Zafrul, who graduated from University of Bristol, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Economics and
Accounting, did his masters in University of Exeter, UK. He started out as a corporate finance
executive in AM Investment Bank. He then joined Credit Agricole as an investment analyst,
moving up quickly to director position within a few years. Succeeding this, he became the Advisor
to the President of Tenaga Nasional. From here, he moved into investment banking at CIMB.
He is the Chairman of Leaders for Tomorrow and Deputy President of the Kuala Lumpur
Business Club. He was awarded the Malaysian Business Leadership Award 2009 for the
investment banking Sector, the APEA 2008 Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award by
Enterprise Asia and the Technology Business Review Asean CEO Award 2008. In November
2009, he received the Malaysian Business Leadership Awards (MBLA) in the investment banking
sector. He was conferred the "Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang" (DSAP) by DYMM Sultan of
Pahang in May 2010. He has also accepted an appointment as a member of the Advisory Board
to the Faculty of Business and Accounting, University Malaya. Most recently, he has been
appointed as the Chairman of SIFE Malaysia, a non-profit organisation aimed at grooming
university students into future leaders.
The avid sportsman also finds time in his tight schedule to participate in triathlons, play futsal,
squash and golf.

DR. N DANARAJ
Dr. Danaraj is currently a Corporate Advisor and Board Member of
Hartalega Berhad, a public listed company which is the world‟s largest
manufacturer of nitrile medical gloves. He is also engaged as an
executive director in-charge of Hartalega‟s global own-brand marketing
(OBM) strategy in US, China, India and other emerging markets.
From August 2010 to July 2011, Dr. Danaraj was the Technical Advisor in
the Special Innovation Unit, Office of the Prime Minister, which was
responsible for overall innovation in Malaysia. He was involved in
formulating the National Innovation Policy.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Technical Advisor to the National Economic Advisory
Council in the Prime Minister‟s Department which was involved in the formulation of Malaysia‟s
New Economic Model.
From 2007 to 2008 he was a Senior Fellow at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia‟s largest
sovereign investment fund. He undertook advisory work on its technology investment strategy.
Prior to this he was Professor of Business Strategy and the Director of the Executive MBA
programme at the International University of Monaco in Europe. He also was Visiting Fellow at
Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo and United Nations University, Tokyo.
Dr. Danaraj was a Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). His
research interests include economic development, international business strategy, technology
and innovation policy, on which he has several publications and numerous consultancy reports
and papers.
Early in his career he served in the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service; his last
posting was in the Ministry of Finance. Previous policy advisory work includes acting as a
Consultant to the Second Industrial Master Plan, Technology Master Plan, and the Kota Kinabalu
Industrial Park Master Plan.
He also has been an international entrepreneur for over fifteen years as the owner of toy
manufacturing facilities in China and Malaysia engaged in producing licensed toys.
He has lived and worked over 20 years as an academic and entrepreneur in China, Japan, and
Korea, England and Southern Europe, and the United States of America.

DAVID WILLIAM BERRY
David is currently the Executive Director at Boustead Heavy Industries
Corporation Berhad (BHIC). He had previously served BHIC as the Senior
Independent Director and as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has
over thirty years experience in financial services and ten years in the
commercial sector. He has worked in the United Kingdom, Malaysia,
Kenya and Indonesia.
Prior to his appointment as an Executive Director at BHIC, David headed
the Corporate Governance, Investor Relations and Financial
Communications practice at Columbus Circle Governance Sdn Bhd. He had previously served as
Executive Director/Chief Executive of Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS), where he was actively
involved in establishing various risk management and internal control processes for this
diversified group, and in the institution of crisis mitigation procedures.
David has held senior positions with Standard Chartered Merchant Bank in London, Kuala
Lumpur and Nairobi, Bankers Trust in London, International Marine Banking Corporation in
London, and American Express Bank in Edinburgh. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Managing
Director of Affin Fund Management Sdn Bhd. His previous commercial experience has been with
Metal Box, the UEM Group and CMS.
David has a unique combination of skills in merchant banking, investment management and
corporate affairs. He takes a practical approach to corporate governance and investor relations
issues and is an active contributor to corporate governance thinking across the region. He was
previously a founding contributor, faculty member and Programme Coordinator for Bank Negara‟s
Financial Institution Directors‟ Education Programme, and has also been a leader in the
development of the investor relations profession in Malaysia. He is a member of the Board of
Governors of the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance and a member of the Board of the
Malaysian Investor Relations Association.

SPEAKER’S PROFILE
DATO’ SARIPUDDIN KASIM
Dato‟ Saripuddin holds Master of Business Administration from the
University of Hartford, USA, as well as Bachelor in Economics (Hon.)
from University of Malaya.
He started his career as an Assistant Director in the Ministry of Trade
and Industry in 1982. In 1984 until 1991 he held the position as an
Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Public Enterprises. In 1993 he
served as an Assistant Registrar in INTAN while in 1994 he was
appointed as an Assistant Director in JPA. He then became the Principal
Assistant Director in JPA from 1997 to 1998. In 1998 until 2001 he held
the position as a Special Officer to the Director General of Public
Services.
Dato‟ Saripuddin then continued his career in Tokyo, Japan as the Counselor/Embassy Advisor to
the Malaysian Embassy from the year 2001 to 2004 and then was appointed as the Attaché of
Educationand Training in High Commission of Malaysia in London from June 2004 to 2006. He
then became the Under Secretary International Relations Division, Ministry of Women, Family
and Community Development from 2006 to 2007 before appointed as the Deputy Secretary
General of the same ministry from 8 February 2008 onwards.
From 10 September 2008, he was appointed as the Director General of Legal Affairs Division in
Prime Minister‟s Department. He served the department until 25 December 2011 before being
appointed as the Secretary General for Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and
Consumerism (MDTCC) until now. As the Secretary General for MDTCC, Dato‟ Saripuddin also
serve as the Chairman for Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) and Commission Member for
the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) and Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission
(SKM).

DATO’ AZIZAN BIN MOHAMAD SIDIN
Dato‟ Azizan is the Director General of Intellectual Property Corporation of
Malaysia (MyIPO) since July 2010.
Dato‟ has served the government since 1988 when he became the
Assistant Secretary to the Ministry Primary Industries. Four years after
that, Dato‟ has been appointed as the Assistant Director of Economic
Planning Unit at Prime Minister Department.
Formerly he was the Principal Assistant Director of Privatisation and
Economic Section at Selangor Economic Planning Unit for five years. He then joined Sepang
Municipal Council as the Council President before he holds his current position.
Dato‟ Azizan graduated with M.S. (Economics) from University of Arkansas, USA and obtained
his B.S (Agribusiness), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

SYED KAMARULZAMAN BIN DATO’ SYED ZAINOL KHODKI SHAHABUDIN
Syed Kamarulzaman earned his master in Science Corporate
Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Bachelor Degree in
Business Administration from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
and had a Diploma in Business Studies, Majoring in Marketing from
MARA Institute of Techlonogy Malaysia.
He is the Managing Director of Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) since
December 2007.
PNS has been mandated to lead the development of Malaysia‟s franchise
industry and aims to develop the franchise industry while increasing the number of franchise
entrepreneurs through its expertise in providing quality service and products.
From 28 Mac 2005 to 30 November 2007 he was the Managing Director of TEKUN Nasional
(formely known as Yayasan TEKUN Nasional) which provides simple and quick financing facilities
to Bumiputers in order to kick-start and further expand their businesses, also to provide micro-
financing and support services towards entrepreneurial development.
He was the Branch Manager of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Seremban Branch) from
January 2003 to Mac 2005 and Deputy Head Administration & Property Department of Bank
Muamalat Malaysia Berhad from October 1999 – July 2002.
He started his career in Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad from 1993 to 2002.

YUSOF ABDUL RAHMAN
Yusof is currently the Acting Managing Director and Senior General
Manager of Corporate Services of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia
Berhad, the leading Islamic Corporative Bank in South East Asia and
Malaysia.
Yusof started his banking and finance career in early 1980s with Bank
Pembangunan and then joined Bank Rakyat in September 2000. He has
held various positions and key responsibilities covering a vast spectrum
of banking operations.
With such an illustrative and solid background in banking and finance, Yusof has been
instrumental in ensuring that all operations of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad are
maintain at the highest level of performance and being competitive.

SHILA DORAI RAJ
Shila is currently the CEO of the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC)
having been appointed in June 2011. Before her current appointment she was
the Head of the Interim Competition Unit in the Ministry of Domestic Trade,
Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) and tasked with setting up the
Competition Commission as well as laying the foundation for the
implementation of the Competition Law 2010 which will come into effect on 1
January 2012.
She was formerly the Under Secretary of the Policy & Planning Division of MDTCC where she
was a key team member, which formulated the Competition Policy and then the drafting of the
Competition Law 2010. She has been involved with the subject matter of competition policy and
law for the last 8 years. Before her involvement in this area she was an officer at the Ministry of
Finance, having worked extensively in international economics and government finance.
She held the position of the Chair of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition from March 2009-
March 2010. During her tenure, she chaired various capacity building programmes and policy
dialogues related to competition issues which were held around the region as well as in Malaysia.
She has also presented several papers at various international and national seminars as well as
contributed to several articles in magazines and books including an UNCTAD publication on
Competition – 30th Anniversary UN Set.

TAN SRI DATUK YONG POH KON
Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon is Managing Director of Royal Selangor
International Sdn Bhd, manufacturer and exporter of pewter products,
Comyns sterling silver and Selberan gold and diamond jewellery.
He graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours in
Mechanical Engineering in 1968.
For over three decades, Tan Sri Yong has been associated closely with the
Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), and is currently its
President. He was elected Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Malaysia
chapter in 2009.
Tan Sri Yong has served as a Board member of Bank Negara Malaysia, a Member of the
National Economic Consultative Council and as a founding Commissioner of the Malaysian
Communications and Multimedia Commission.
In 2007, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to be the Co-Chair together with the Chief
Secretary of Malaysia, of PEMUDAH the Task Force to Facilitate Business. This Task Force
comprises 9 private sector members and 21 of the top civil servants of the country.
In February 2009 he was appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of the Malaysian Anti
Corruption Commission.
Tan Sri Yong is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences and the Malaysian Institute of Management.
He was also the founder of Malaysian Mensa and Young Presidents Organisation Malaysia
Chapter.

JOHN ZINKIN
John is the Managing Director of Corporate Governance at Iclif and has
more than 40 years working experience. He was previously the CEO of
the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) where he was
responsible for taking the company from its incorporation to financial
self-sufficiency.
John was also Chairman of the UMSC Audit Committee until the end of
2009. Before joining SIDC John was Associate Professor of Marketing
and Strategy at Nottingham University Business School, Malaysia
Campus and director of the MBA program with responsibility for external affairs.
He is one of the founders of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility Malaysia (ICRM), and was
its Deputy Chairman, until ICRM merged with the Business Council for Sustainable Development
Malaysia (BCSDM) in April 2011 where he is now an Exco member and the Vice President,
Sustainability and Governance.
He developed the Non-Executive Director Development Series with PwC and is a faculty member
for the program. He was a member of the Corporate Governance Working Group involved in the
revisions of the Malaysian Code and the development of the Corporate Governance Blueprint. He
has written extensively on Corporate Governance and has had “Challenges in Implementing
Corporate Governance: Whose business is it anyway?” and Corporate Governance” published by
John Wiley and “What CEOs must do to succeed” published by Prentice Hall.

PROFESSOR DR AISHAH BIDIN
Dr Aishah is a Professor of Corporate and Insolvency Law and Dean of
the Faculty of Law, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).She is also
the Legal Advisor of UKM Holdings, the Corporate Arm of University
Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Dr Aishah obtained her LLB (Hons) from University of Malaya, Masters in
Laws from the University of Kent and her Ph.D in Laws from University of
London. Through the fundamental research grant from UKM (FRGS) she
has completed three projects for the university, namely a project on
Insolvency, Governance and Reforms in Malaysia and Its Impact on Creditors in 2002, Corporate
Financing in Malaysia in 2004 and Rehabilitative framework for insolvent Companies in Malaysia
and Australia in 2007. Under the Research University Grant (GUP) she has completed a research
on the Impact of Advancement of Technology on Corporations in which the areas of study
includes electronic meetings, offering of securities and prospectus on line, banking and corporate
fraud.
Further in collaboration with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) she is also a
heading a research team researching on Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) of SMEs
companies in Malaysia. She was a member of the Malaysian Corporate Law Reform Committee
(CLRC) and a member of the Technical Sub-committee for the CLRC. She also sat in two other
sub working groups of the CLRC, namely working group on corporate governance and
shareholders‟ rights and deputy chairman for working group on insolvency and corporate
securities. In early 2007, she has been a Visiting Professor at the Department of Business Law
and Taxation Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia and
Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Malaysian Studies in Monash Asia Institute,
Australia.
Currently she is a Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Australia. She is also
a Board Member of Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) and former Chairman for
COMTRAC (Training Academy for Companies Commissions of Malaysia), A Member of Advisory
Board, Malaysian Legal and Tax Information Centre (MLTIC) and Board Member of the Legal
Aid National Foundation of Malaysia (YBGK).

PROFESSOR ABU BAKAR MUNIR
Abu Bakar Munir is an internationally renowned scholar, expert and
consultant on data protection law and ICT Law. He was the Dean of the
Faculty of Law, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Currently, he is a
Professor of Law and Associate Fellow at the University Of Malaya
Malaysian Centre Of Regulatory Studies (UMCoRS). He is also a
Visiting Professor at several universities in Asia, Australia, New
Zealand, the Middle East and Europe.
Abu Bakar Munir is the author of several books; Privatization (1992),
Cyberlaw: Policies and Challenges (1999), Privacy and Data Protection
(2002), Internet Banking: Law and Practice (2004), and Information and Communication
Technology Law: State, Internet and Information (2010). His most recent work; Personal Data
Protection in Malaysia: Law and Practice published in 2010 is a must-read book that provides a
guidance to comply with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). He has widely
published articles on several aspects of ICT law and data protection law. He speaks extensively
at seminars and conferences within Malaysia and around the globe. In September 2011, he was
invited to speak on Privacy and Data Protection in Asia at the 102nd
of the Society of Legal
Scholars Conference hosted by the Downing College, University of Cambridge.
Abu Bakar Munir has been far and wide consulted by the governments and private entities in
Malaysia and around the world. He was appointed the Adviser to the Government of Malaysia on
data protection law in 2007 and was instrumental in crafting and the passing of the PDPA 2010.
He was also responsible for developing the academic draft of the proposed data protection law
for the Republic of Indonesia.
In 1999 he was seconded as the IT Law Adviser and Principal Consultant to the Government of
Dubai, UEA where he led an international team of consultants in developing and drafting the Data
Protection Code, Electronic Commerce Facilitation Code, etc to facilitate the Dubai Internet City,
a multi-billion dollar IT project. A member of the United Nations ICT Policy and Internet
Governance Working Group he was also a Council Member of the Asia Pacific Privacy Charter
Council (APPCC). He is the recipient of the Malaysia Cyber Security Awards (Minister‟s Award)
2010 as well as the Malaysia Cyber Security, (Information Security Visionary of the Year) Award
2010.
He has been the Data Protection Consultant to Chartis Insurance Malaysia (formerly known as
AIG Insurance) and is currently advising Telekom Malaysia, PNB, PETRONAS and POS
Malaysia on compliance of the PDPA. He is working on another book on Data Protection Law in
Asia Pacific. His other areas of specialization include Air and Space Law, Nanotechnology Law
and Renewable Energy Law.

MOHD NAIM DARUWISH
Mohd Naim Daruwish is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the
Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) having been appointed in
December 2011.
Mohd Naim graduated with a LLB (Hons) degree from the University of
Malaya. He started off his career as a Legal Officer with the Legal
Department of Bank Pertanian Malaysia on April 1984 before being
appointed as Magistrate in 1985 and later as a Senior Magistrate.
He was then appointed as the Manager and later as the Senior Manager of the
Prosecution/Litigation Division, Legal Department of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Kuala
Lumpur.
Among the positions held by him in EPF were the General Manager of the Enforcement
Department, the Senior General Manager of Legal Department and the Senior General Manager
of the Contribution Department.

MOHAMED ZANYUIN ISMAIL
Zanyuin was appointed as the Director of Registration Services Division in
Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia since July 2008. This division is
responsible for the management of registration and incorporation
documents lodged, winding up of companies and administration of
interest schemes.
Prior to such appointment, he served as the Director of Registration
Services Division between April 2003 and July 2008.
Zanyuin holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Social Science from Universiti Sains
Malaysia. He began his public service career as a Registration Officer/Assistant Registrar of
Companies in August 1980 under the (then) Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Zanyuin was appointed as Deputy Registrar of the Registry of Business in February 1995. He

NOR AZIMAH ABDUL AZIZ
Azimah is the Director of Corporate Development and Policy Division,
Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) since 1 September 2010.
Formerly she was appointed as the Director of COMTRAC in April 2007.
She was responsible for the training of company directors, officers,
company secretaries as well as members of the public on the aspects of
corporate law and its regulation. As the Director of COMTRAC, she was
also responsible in enhancing SSM‟s employees capacity and capability
as well as administering the SSM resource centre.
She joined SSM in August 2003 as the General Manager of the Corporate Policy, Planning and
Development Department where she was responsible for regulatory research, statistics,
corporate planning as well as the SSM Training Centre. Throughout her stint with SSM, she
served as the Secretary to the Corporate Law Reform Committee as well as the National Integrity
Plan.
Upon obtaining her law degree from ITM Shah Alam in 1991, she began her career as an
Advocate and Solicitor in 1992. She then joined Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as a Law
Lecturer at Faculty of Business and Management and later acquired her postgraduate degree in
LLM (Business Law) from the University of Wales, UK in 1996. In 2000, she was seconded to the
Technical and Regulatory Department of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants prior to joining
SSM.

NORHAIZA JEMON
Norhaiza is the Head of Law Reform, Policy & International Affairs at the
Corporate Development & Policy Division, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia
(SSM) since September 2011. Previously, she held the position of Head of
International Programme Section, Companies Commission of Malaysia
Training Academy (COMTRAC) and she was a Senior Legal Researcher in
the Corporate Development and Policy Division of SSM.
She joined SSM as a researcher in July 2004 and served the Corporate Law
Reform Committee focusing on areas of research on private companies, alternative business
vehicles and sanctions.
Prior to that, she was the Deputy Manager, Technical and Research Department of the Malaysian
Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA). Her areas of research include
corporate laws, corporate governance and company secretarial practice issues. She graduated
with LL.B (Hons.) from Coventry University, United Kingdom.

MUHAMAD FARIS OTHMAN
Muhamad Faris is the Director of Marketing and Business
Development Division, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia.
He handles customer management, product and business
development, information services and document management.

AZNORASHIQ MOHAMED ZIN
Aznorashiq was appointed as the Director of the Investigation
Division, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) in April 2007 and
oversees the investigation functions of SSM.
Previously he was attached with the Investigation Department of
Securities Commission. Aznorashiq has a total of nine years
investigative experience in corporate and securities fraud with an
audit background of three years.
Aznorashiq graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia
with Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) in 1996. He later went on to complete his Master of Business
Administration specializing in Finance also at the same university in 2004.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA). He is
also qualified as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

MOHAMED SUFYAN MOHD MOKHTAR
Mohamed Sufyan is the Acting Director, Legal Services Division,
Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM). He oversees legal advisory, civil
litigation and prosecution functions of SSM. He is also a qualified Mutual
Evaluation Assessor under the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering.
Prior to joining SSM in October 2004, Mohamed Sufyan served in the
Legal Affairs and Risk Division, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad,
Malaysia‟s national asset management agency.
Mohamed Sufyan read Law at the London School of Economics & Political Science. He is a
Barrister-at-Law (Inner Temple) and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of
Malaya, in 1995.

MOHD RAZIN MUHAMMAD
Mohd Razin is the Head of Complaints Section on Suruhanjaya
Syarikat Malaysia (SSM). He oversees this unit in SSM that becomes
the centre for report or information regarding potential corporate laws
violations that come under the purview of SSM.
Prior to taking up his current appointment, Razin had served as an in-
house legal counsel in several public listed companies where he
gained vast experience in corporate legal matters.
Razin graduated from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) with
an LLB (Hons) degree and began his career as an advocate and solicitor before leaving private
practice to broaden his horizon and pursue different challenges in the corporate sector.

TOH KAY HONG
Toh Kay Hong is the Section Head of Corporate Intermediary
Section at Compliance Division of Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia
(SSM).
She joined SSM (formerly known as Registry of Companies
(ROC)) in 1997. Prior to joining SSM, she held the position as an
Assistant Director with the Accountant-General Department.
During her tenure with SSM, she has wide exposure in
enforcement and compliance of companies and auditors,
interviewing candidates who were applying as secretary, auditor and or liquidator licensing with
SSM and the Minister of Finance, corporate applications on Companies Limited By Guarantee,
trust companies, extension of time and relief from requirements as to form and contents of reports
under the Companies‟ Act 1965. Currently she sits on the panel of Licence Secretary Interview
as Chairman.
She has a Degree in Bachelor of Accounting from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
