Issue 8 Summer Term 19th June 2020“Believe & Achieve”
We have been so impressed with how quickly each class hasadapted to their new surroundings and routines. The staffhave been working so hard to make it work for the childrenand as I toured the school each day it made me so proud ofall the children and staff – it is amazing what can be achievedin such a short space of time when we all work together asone!
We have another 4 weeks and 2 days until the summerholidays and I know things can only get easier.
Thank you for your continued support!
Mr Campbell
Dear parents and children,
This week we welcomed back theremaining year groups, so we arefinally whole again!
It was fantastic to see all the childrenand families again and although weare operating under a ‘new normal’we are just happy that we canprovide great learning opportunitiesonce again.

groups now!
FS1 Lion King Class
FS2
FS2 Willy Wonka Class
Nicola Golding came to visit the
school this week!
“The routines you have put in place are fantastic and it was wonderful to see the children just getting on with their learning as they would on any other day. They were all smiling and clearly happy to be back with their friends.”
Nicola Goulding, Assistant Chief Education Officer, Cyprus DCYP/MOD Schools
In FS2 we understand that children aren’t able to socially distance themselves. We have helped them by reducing the sizes of groups and giving them more space to work and play in and of course washing, washing, washing our hands!
The children have worked so hard and have settled so quickly!!!
This week Y1 have
Y1 Pinocchio Class
We work in a horse-shoe to help space out
in class.
This week Y2 returned to a pirate themed week!
Y2 Sherlock Gnomes Class
Well done on a brilliant return to
school!
Nicola Goulding (ACEO) also said…
“Your one way system in classes, hand washing and social distancing were a credit to you all, as were your cleaning staff who have also made all this happen.”
Children in Y1 to Y6 should now be independent
enough to walk in by themselves from the school
gate but let us know if there are any problems.
Thank you for waiting in the designated collection
points and for observing the social distancing
measures. Your support and co-operation is really
appreciated!
Reminder
We introduced ‘windows of time’ to reduce the number of children and parents arriving/departing at the same time and this is working really well. Our apologies if it causes any difficulties and if it does please speak to us to see how we can help. I have added a summary below for reference.

Welcome back Year 3!!

This week Year 5 and Year 6 havecontinued to work hard and haveproduced some fantastic work!!
Y5 & 6 The Incredibles Class
Keep up the hard work!
This week we have had numerous concerned parents report to us the unsafe behaviour of KS2 children arriving/leaving school on scooters and bicycles.
We have had a ‘serious discussion’ with all KS2 children today warning them about the dangers of scooting or cycling the wrong way down one-way roads or racing each other along the roads. Each KS2 class has also been taken out and walked the route to and from school and staff have double checked that they understand which are the safe routes to school and the importance of wearing a helmet.
We have explained that if we see children continuing to take risks in this way that we will need to contact parents so that appropriate action can be taken. A big thank you to all those children and parents who do follow the rules and ride safely to school!
