GEOPHYSICAL REPORT ON
CLAIM 590724
HAYCOCK TOWNSHIP
KENORA MINING DIVISION
RECEIVED
MINING LANDS SECTION
December 1983
Location:
NTS 52E 16SW
Haycock Township between the Trans Canada Highway
and the CPR rail line. Access to claim group is
from the north along an all-weather road which
crosses the mainline of the Canadian Pacific Railway
at Island Lake.

Assessment work submitted by:
the above parties.
Claims covered by the survey:
590724
Date of survey:
October 10, 1983
Geology:
From Ontario Government Preliminary Map P2618
(King, H.L. 1983)
"A large stock composed of diorite and quartz diorite underlies Haycock Township and parts of Jaffray and Pettypiece Town ship, (the Island Lake Diorite/Quartz Diorite). Both phases are massive equi- granular and medium grained. A variety of felsic dikes including quartz porphyry, quartz monzonite, pegmatite, and porphy- ritic grano-diorite intrude the stock."
Reconnaissance field mapping has indicated areas of mafic flows and tuffs. Strong shearing in a North easterly direction appears throughout the property.
"Trans ConcdaHfghuJGu
Summary of exploration and development done on the property
to date:
No work previous to the current exploration program.
Instrument:
Geonics EM-16 VLF unit, Serial #128 Freq. NLK 24.8KHz
Seattle.
Sensitivity: In phase, 0.5% from -70% to +70%
1% from 7 0% to 150%
Ellipse Ratio 0.5%
Method of Survey
The standard VLF surveying technique was employed.
Picket lines cut 300 feet apart along a base line orientated
at N60 E. Readings were taken every 50 feet along the
picket lines.
-at each 50 foot station the readings were taken in
the Southeast direction, independant of the direction
of travel, at right angles to the station location.
In this case, the Seattle Washington station, broad
casting at 18.6 KHz, was used.
-a best null was then obtained by adjusting the
in-phase and/or quadrature settings. The reading
was taken when this null was achieved.
Total number of Stations
103 Stations
Number of lines
1 Base line
4 Picket lines
Number of miles of line cut
1.2 miles
Results
Results from the survey were plotted on a map
using a scale of 1 inch to 100 feet. From this plotting
of results, two zones were detected. They are located at;
Zone 1: Line 9+00 East 6+30 N
Line 6+00 East 6+50 N
Zone 2: Line 3+00 East 8+50 S
Line 0+00 6+50 S
These two zones give strong cross-overs, see map.
A weaker 1 line cross-over occurs at:
Line 3+00 East 3+90 S
Conclusions
The EM-16 survey did not indicate the presence of
the mineralization shear zone located along the base
line. Therefore a magnetometer survey is required to
further assess the potential of the anomalous zones
which were undercovered and hopefully to delineate the
shear zone.
