Event: Afro-Brazilian Carnaval 2016 Date: July 30, 2016 Time: 11am to 5pm Location: Granville Street between Robson & Smithe
Capoeira is a one of a kind martial art that combines aspects of self-defense, acrobatics, music and dance. Uniquely Afro-Brazilian in its origins, it combines these various art forms into one synergistic martial art training experience.
Originating in Recife, Brazil, Axé Capoeira Vancouver is Canada’s first academy of Capoeira, and is celebrating its 26th
year in Vancouver. Backed by worldwide releases of eleven albums of capoeira music on CD, a catalogue of performance videos, and a four-volume capoeira instructional DVD compilation, Axé Capoeira continues to grow and promote its art with over 10,000 students across the globe in over 32 nations.
