Vancouver, BC Axé Capoeira Vancouver will be hosting their sixth annual Afro-Brazilian Carnaval on Saturday, July 30, 2016, along Granville Street between Georgia and Smithe. Thousands of people are expected for a full day of performances including a Samba parade with a live percussion band, a traditional Afro-Brazilian royal procession dance (Maracatu), blood-pumping Brazilian music, and of course gravity-defying capoeira presentations! This is an all-ages event guaranteed to entertain and brighten up your day in true west-coast style. Featuring world-class capoeiristas, musicians, and dancers from around the world, Axé Capoeira will put on an unforgettable event showcasing local and international artists, musicians, athletes, and more.
