7th March, 2018 Dear Parent/Carer GCSE Design & Technology visit to Jaguar Landrover at Wolverhampton on Thursday 15th March, 2018 As part of their GCSE Design & Technology curriculum, we have arranged for Year 10 students to have the opportunity to visit a manufacturing plant. This is a fantastic chance for pupils to visit Jaguar Landrover, see a working production line and find out more about careers in manufacturing engineering. In addition to a factory tour, pupils will take part in taught workshops and engineering challenges. The trip is designed to look specifically at the industrial use of robots in manufacturing, factory automation and production lines, the use of CADCAM in manufacture and lean manufacturing. We will travel by coach leaving school at 8.40 a.m. and returning for the regular buses home at 3.15 p.m. Pupils should wear full school uniform with a coat and bring a packed lunch and a drink. There is no cost to students for this visit. Please indicate on the slip below if you wish your son/daughter to take part in this visit and return it, together with your payment, by Monday 12th March, 2018. Yours sincerely
