Configuration
AWLU configuration is contained in an Airline Modifiable Information (AMI) configuration LSAP
AMI is created using common Ground Based Software Tool (GBST)
AMI is loaded into ONS which, in turn, distributes to AWLU
Only one profile is provided to AWLU at a time
A default profile is supported, so additional profiles are created by exception
TCU configuration is also contained in AMI configuration LSAP
AMI is created using common Ground Based Software Tool (GBST)
AMI is loaded into CoreNet Terminal Cellular Manager (TCM), which distributes to TCU the set of profiles defines for the current airport
No default profile is supported, so a profile must be created for every airport at which an airplane might need to communicate
Use shall be in accordance with the Title page of this presentation.

Security
All the communication links established by the AWLU or TCU are considered to be insecure
So, a VPN is utilized by CoreNet/ONS to provide end to end data security
The TCU, as a 787 network system, underwent a rigorous security analysis
Use shall be in accordance with the Title page of this presentation.

SIM Management
The AWLU and TCU are both delivered without SIMs
TCU provides two (2) SIMs slots.
SIMs are installed by the customer after aircraft delivery
SIMs may require geographical-licensed
Boeing provides a maintenance procedure to remove the unit, change the SIMs, and reinstall and test the unit
Use shall be in accordance with the Title page of this presentation.
