Awkward SilenceKelly Wilson

Spaghaper Design Project Each team was asked to design a
“spaghaper bridge” with a maximum allowable width and height of 5-inches by 5-inches respectively. Did I mention we had to build it only with the items provided, which were paper, scissors, paper glue, and spaghetti.
(It sounds awkward! Right?)
Design 1 Our design sounded really simple.
Basically we were going build a truss tyle bridge using triangles for reinforcement and we were going to put rods on the top and bottom.

Design 1
Problems
Unfortunately we started running out of glue.
We had no idea about how we were going to make our triangles sit up.
Most of all we got really confused and frustrated .
Design 2 Our second design was working out
really great , but once we started building, it became a disaster. The mistake we made was throwing things together before thinking. (Can you believe we forgot to measure?) We were nearly finished with it before someone brought to our attention that our bridge was way to wide. So we just started completely over. (That was a major set back ).
Design 3 We basically used parts from our
previous disasters and put them in one. We got the triangles we made for design one and broke them in half .Once we finish breaking them in half we criss-crossed the sticks for extra reinforcements and place them on top of two really big rods (not logs as others would say)
Girder Bridge
“A girder bridge is perhaps the most common and most basic bridge. A log across a creek is an example of a girder bridge in its simplest form. In modern steel girder bridges, the two most common girders are I-beam girders and box-girders.”
