The Cosmetology c u r r i c u l u m i s designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/art ist ic principles, a n d h a n d s - o n

fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multi-cultural pract ices, business/computer principles, product knowledge and other selected topics.

Graduates should qua l i fy to s i t fo r t he S ta te Boa rd o f Cosmet ic Ar ts examination. Upon successfully passing t he S ta te Boa rd Exam, graduates will

be issued a North Carolina license. Employment is available in beauty salons and related businesses.
