Dear reader, It has become a tradition that, at the end of the academic year, we inform you about the research endeavours in which we engaged. From this perspective, it is my pleasure to send you the latest edition of ‘Research@FEB’. As usual, the harvest of publications and awards was impressive. But on top of all this the past academic year was particularly special due to the successful research visitation that took place in the Fall of 2012. Whilst having prepared for it over many months and having great confidence in the research environment at FEB, it was still a great joy to read and hear the many compliments that we received. Some research units have been classified as “world class research departments”, and all of the units scored ’very good’ on most key performance indicators, such as articles published. Coming from a team of professors who themselves are leading scholars in their field, working at universities such as the University of California at Berkeley and the London School of Economics, this is truly a great achievement. For those of you who are interested in finding out more, this presentation provides further information. Customarily, this newsletter also includes a number of other links, each providing more detailed information on a host of different topics. You are kindly invited to explore this information. So, please enjoy reading this newsletter while having a pleasant holiday. Prof. Dr. P.
