Dear Life members, Donor members and Readers,
The Annual General Meeting of our AVOPA Bengaluru is being held on 28th of this month as already announced in our August 2014 Newsletter, at Manandi Samskruta Sadana, Jayanagar 5th block, at 10.00 a.m. We invite the attendance of all the members to participate in the meeting and offer their suggestions for betterment of the Society. We would also be sharing the performance details and take suggestions for future performance.
The AVOPA Boys' free hostel is functioning well and the students are being taken care of. The environment is learner friendly. We need funds to maintain the hostel. We seek and appeal to every member to come forward and donate for this noble cause. Donations in the form of one time sponsorship or perennial sponsorship are also welcome. Please contact the office bearers for details.
Site allotments to AVOPA members is happening and we are pleased to announce that tie-ups' are entered into with LICHF and other financial institutions and banks. Those of the members, who are desirous of obtaining loan assistance, may approach the office bearers for information and support. We started out with this dream of helping our members to acquire sites in Bangalore and build their dream houses. We are happy that it is moving forward due to the response from many of you.
We need to build our membership base. Please invite people with membership potential to join AVOPA and strengthen our institution. It is our desire that members will motivate their children who have acquired the status of either official or professional to become members / donors.
Our members may be aware that NIJAPADA RATHA YAATHRA organised by our Arya Vysya organisations has received tremendous response from all over the Karnataka state. All the devotees are thrilled to touch the holy feet of Matha Kanyakaparameswari at their doorsteps. All are eager to see the installation of 102 feet PANCHALOHA IDOL of Vasavi in Penugonda. It is an historical event and the present generation is lucky to witness this great event. This activity has been successful in bringing our people together which strengthens the Unity.
We will be having Gandhi Jayanthi on 2nd of October, 2014. Let us strive to live a value based life based on Mahatma's teachings. In this context, I remember a quote by Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary Movement he said – 'He profits most, who serves best'. Let us excel in service to our community and to the nation.

AVOPA Bengaluru organized a program on “Holistic life vision clarity by GITA THROUGH DUALITY & MEDITATION for divine light” - A Simple Guide for modern day to day hectic living. Sri V K Gopal, Vice President, AVOPA welcomed the guest speaker, all members their families and others present. He introduced the guest speaker Sri D.S. Sridhar ME, FIE, AMP(IIM-B), Structural Engineer, Alumnus of Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, Formerly CEO & Presently Honorary Spiritual Coach, to the audience. Sri Sridhar at the outset, presented an overview of Bhagavad Gita and then made a PPT
presentation, with brief explanation for all slides. His speech covered various aspects namely holistic life vision, Duality, Meditation, etc. He explained salient features of all chapters in Gita. The hall was filled with audience. Many persons among the audience actively participated during the inter-active session. Their facial expression witnessed satisfaction. In fact, several persons suggested to repeat this program periodically to spread the divine message of Bhagavad Gita for the

Humorous Evening31st Aug.2014. Sunday evening. Avopa Charitable Trust organised a special programme at B.P. Wadia hall, Indian Institute of world culture.Dr. P.N.Srirama Setty, , chief of International Humour club, enthralled the audience with his humorous speech.. he also said that without humour in life, it is boredom. Humour can reduce several diseases and can cure at times. Humour has great scientific advantages both for body and mind.Sri. N.A.Shankarnarayan Setty who presided over the function, narrated about the various welefare measures taken up by the organisation, for the benefit of the Arya Vysya community particularly in the field of Education and Health.He invited like minded persons to join the
organisation and contribute their mite for the charity activities.Smt. Alamelu Prasad, Smt. Indumathi Prasanna Kumar , former Presidents of KAVM Mahasabha, remembered the qualities of Swayam Prabha Balaraj, in whose memory the programme is conducted.They admired the unflinching enthusiasm and sense of Humor she had.Dr. A.S. Venkatachalapathy , former President of Bharath vikas Parishad also spoke on the occasion with few anecdotes of wit and wisdom.Sri P.C.Balaraj , President of the Avopa Charitable Trust who , sponsored the whole program proposed a vote of thanks. She has done PhD in Psychology from Bangalore University and worked with Alliance University for 10 years before joining IBSB. Currently, she is an Associate Dean and heads the Corporate Interaction Group which takes care of corporate training and EMBA.
