Call to Order
Board President, Mr. Beau Blaser, called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Blaser noted that an Executive Session was held this evening at 7:00 PM to discuss personnel, litigation, and real estate matters. Visitors’ Comments Ms. Hadley Holcomb presented her senior project idea which is to permit seniors to paint their parking spaces using a water-based exterior latex paint. In addition to the parking permit fee, students would pay a fee to paint their space at the beginning of the school year and paint over it in black at the end of the school year or pay a fee to have someone else paint over it. The Board and Dr. Ralston discussed possible donations from local stores and from PPG. Further details, including the number of spaces to be painted, need to be worked out before Board approval would be given.
Report of Administration – Dr. Thomas Ralston, Superintendent
Dr. Ralston recapped the recent Administrative workshop held in Gettysburg and the
conference he attended at Harvard. He also outlined details of Studio A which begins
tomorrow and runs through Thursday.

Report of the Assistant Superintendent – Dr. Jeff Hadley Dr. Hadley reported the Wit & Wisdom materials have been given to teachers so they may
begin to prepare if they wish to do so. Dr. Heather Moschetta from the AIU Reading
Achievement Center will provide training for administration on July 24. Dr. Hadley and Ms.
Dwulit are continuing discussions about P.E. and also the potential of having Honors Band
credit. More information will be shared in August.
Report of the Solicitor – Mr. William Andrews, Esq.
Mr. Andrews discussed his July Status Report on Real Estate Tax Assessment appeals.
There are 156 residential appeals in 2019 which is up 50 from last year. All but three have
been heard. $17,388 in new taxes will come in this year. We filed four commercial appeals
whose value is higher than what the board put it in at. He reported there were 21 appeals
from 2018 totaling $101,800 with 17 outstanding. Delinquent tax collection is significantly
up: $541,000 compared to $341,000 last year.

Mrs. Monti said that AWBCC staff also attended workshops in Gettysburg. AWBCC will host local career centers in August for a safety meeting. discounted rate for use of the high school auditorium at a cost of $100 for one Band discount
Fall concert and one Spring concert, retroactive to May 19, 2019. All other
related fees will apply, i.e., custodial.

2. To accept the resignation of Mr. Jim Pappas as Middle School Girls’ Soccer Coach Resignation
Coach retroactive to June 11, 2019.
3. To approve Ms. Cate Potter as Middle School Girls’ Soccer Coach for the MS Girls’ Soccer Coach
2019-2020 School Year, with a stipend according to the current AEA contract,
pending requirements of the District.
4. To approve Ms. Morgan Waddell as Assistant Middle School Girls’ Soccer Asst. Girls’ Soccer Coach

5. To approve the Ross-West View Emergency Medical Systems (EMS) Agreement EMS Agreement
for the 2019- 2020 School Year at a cost of $750.00. (Note: This amount has
remained the same for the past five years.)

Old Business
Mr. Waters reported that due to inclement weather, the elementary campus asphalt project
will be completed next week.
New Business
Mr. Brandt asked about the new ESS substitute service. Mr. Waters explained Adjournment Motion: P. Stewart; Second: J. Brandt; Motion Carried: Unanimous Voice Vote to adjourn the Regular Meeting at 8:25 P.M. to an Executive Session to discuss student matters.

AVONWORTH SCHOOL DISTRICT
FACILITY USAGE FEES
All facility users who have been approved to use the district’s facilities shall abide by the following fee
schedule:
Gymnasiums $80 per hour (2 hour minimum)
Locker Rooms $55/room
Auditorium* $200 per hour (2 hour minimum)
Use of sound board and lighting $200/event in addition to hourly fee
Sound technician $45/ hr. in addition to hourly fee
Classrooms $55 per classroom
Baseball Field behind high school** $110.00/game
Seasonal permits for youth and adult baseball groups
o Using the High School field
One night per week beginning May 1 and ending July 15 $450.00
Lenzner Athletic Complex *** $185 per hour (2 hour minimum)
Lenzner Athletic Complex with lights on $300 in addition to hourly fee
Lenzner Athletic Complex with concession stand $80 in addition to hourly fee
Lenzner Athletic Complex scoreboard and or sound system $125 in addition to hourly fee
*Sound Board and lights in the Auditorium - Use of the auditorium sound board and stage lighting
requires an approved technician to be onsite to oversee and operate the sound board and
lighting. A separate fee of $200/event will be charged along with an hourly rate to pay the
technician of $45 per hour.
**Field may not be altered (i.e. no installation of shorter bases and pitching mound, either
permanent or temporary) without prior approval of the Avonworth School District.
***Approved Youth Organizations- Youth groups approved to use Lenzner Field for regular season
games will be assessed a fixed $250 fee for use. (Which will include use of the field, press box and
concession stand).

Custodial Service - Avonworth does not employ a custodial staff 24/7. Therefore, for all events
outside the normal custodial working hours you will need custodial service to open the facility, be
on call in case of facility malfunction and to clean up and close the facility when the event is
completed. The fee for a group who needs one custodian is $45 per hour. The fee for a group who
needs two or more custodians is $45 per hour for each additional custodian. (2 hour minimum)
The number of custodians needed is at the discretion of the Avonworth School District.
Payment - All rentals may be requested to pay some or all of the associated costs in advance.
Payment should be made payable to Avonworth School District.
Kitchen usage -The use of the kitchens in either high school or the middle school will only be
granted and agreed to by the Food Service Manager and may require the use of Food Service
Personnel at his/her discretion. It is understood that the extra fees associated with this will be
borne by the applicant and an $85 rental fee will be imposed per kitchen.
Insurance- Per Use of School Facilities Policy #707 All facility users who have been approved to
use the district’s facilities must hold the necessary Liability insurance and show proof of such
insurance so that the district is not held responsible for any and all injuries or claims while under
the direction of the person or persons running the program.
Lenzner Field Facility Guidelines for Functions

Custodial Services – Per Use of School Facilities Policy #707 – Fee Schedule
When a non-district event is held at Lenzner Athletic Complex it is required that a custodial
employee be on site to oversee the function being hosted. A fee of $45 per hour is charged
to the user for this custodial coverage.
Press Box – Per Use of School Facilities Policy #707
When a non-district event requires usage of the press box the user is required to pay a fee of
$45 per hour to have a district employee present in the press box to oversee use of the sound
system and the scoreboard. This employee will also be responsible for monitoring the number
of persons in the box. Note: the Press Box will not be available for any purpose other than use
of the sound system and/or scoreboard.

Field House - The visitor’s locker room will be accessible to the group using the facility, if requested,
at a cost of $100.00 for the event. The remaining areas of the field house will be “off limits.”
These areas include: home locker room, weight room, athletic trainer’s room, equipment
room, coaches room and the inside rest rooms. Outside restrooms will be available for all
events.
Concession Stand – Use of the concession stand is permitted and an applicable fee will be assessed.
User will be required to clean the concession stand so that it is left in the same condition it was
found prior to its use. In addition, user will be responsible for safeguarding all concession
stand equipment. To assist in assuring compliance user will be required to provide a check
payable to the Avonworth School District in the amount of $500.00. This check will be
returned, un-cashed, to the user within five days providing an inspection of the concession
stand by district personnel does not uncover any violation of the above (stand not cleaned or
equipment damaged or missing).
Lights - The use of field lights for any event is available for a cost of $300.00 per event
****Security - If the attendance at the event is expected to exceed 250 people then the user will be
required to pay for security to be provided by the Ohio Township Police Department. Note: a
minimum of one officer will be required to be engaged for the event at the current rate charged
by the Ohio Township Police Department. A second officer may be needed for larger events at
the discretion of Ohio Township Police Department and the Avonworth School District.
Groups using any of the district fields are responsible for making the field game ready. The district is
not responsible for lining or dragging fields when normal school athletic seasons are not in
season.
****This requirement applies to all events held at the High School, Middle School, Primary and/or
Elementary School gymnasiums and Lenzner Field complex. The Avonworth School Districts
reserves the right to use their discretion in all situations where applicable.
Mayernik Fieldhouse weight room and the Williams Gymnasium Cardio/weight room
The use of the Mayernik Fieldhouse weight room and the Williams Gymnasium Cardio/weight room by
outside Personnel Trainers to work with Avonworth students is subject to availability and is not to
interfere with any school based program.

Persons using these facilities to train Avonworth students outside of the weightlifting program offered
by the district must be:
1. Approved by the district.
2. Properly certified by an accredited program.
3. Hold the necessary Liability insurance so that the district is not held responsible for any and all
injuries or claims while under the direction of the person or persons running the program.
The following is a sliding scale to be used when using these facilities.
For an hour long session
Single student $10.00/ session
2- 5 students $20.00/session
6 students $23.80/ session
7 students $27.60/session
8 students $31.40/session
9 students $35.20/session
An additional $5.00 per student per session will be charged if 10 or more students are present.
For a 90 minute long session
Single student $15.00/ session
2- 5 students $30.00/session
6 students $35.70/ session
7 students $41.40/session
8 students $47.10/session
9 students $52.80/session
An additional $7.00 per student per session will be charged if 10 or more students are present.
All other requirements are detailed in the USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIES Policy #707.
