Avon 75th Anniversary Sweepstakes-- Official Rules
SPONSOR: The Avon 75th Anniversary Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is sponsored by
HarperCollins Publishers ("HarperCollins" or “Sponsor”), 195 Broadway, New York, New York
10007.
ENTRY METHOD:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY to enter or receive a prize. A purchase does not improve
your chances of winning. During the Entry Period, submit your email address at the
Sweepstakes registration page, located at avonromance.hc.com/avon75sweeps to receive one (1)
entry into the Sweepstakes. By participating in the Sweepstakes, you will receive email special
offers for books and other goods and services from the Bookperk, From the Heart, Princess
Cruises, Woman’s Day, BookingBuddy and Oyster newsletters. You can unsubscribe from these
promotional emails at any time. Limit one (1) Sweepstakes entry per person/email address
during the Entry Period. Multiple or incomplete entries will automatically be disqualified; only
the first entry will be considered valid. Each entrant in the Sweepstakes must be the rightful
holder of the email account submitted at entry. In the event of a dispute concerning the identity
of the holder of the email account, the “Authorized Account Holder” will be deemed to be the
person who owns the email address. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person
who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or
other organization which is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses, or the domain associated
with the submitted e-mail address. The email account must be opened prior to the
commencement of the Sweepstakes. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email
address. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of submission or receipt by
the Sponsor for online entries. The Sponsor’s computer will be deemed the official time keeping
device for the Sweepstakes. Use of any robotic, automatic or macro devices is not valid for entry.
Any entry that is submitted with the use of a robotic, automated or macro device will be void.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected entries, entries that are
processed late or incorrectly, or those that are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or
other error or entries not received for any reason. All entries become Sponsor’s property and will
not be acknowledged or returned.
ELIGIBILITY
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and the District of
Columbia, excluding Rhode Island, Alaska, and Hawaii, and U.S. territories and possessions;
who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of October 1, 2016. Also excluded are employees
and immediate family members of HarperCollins, Princess Cruises®, Woman’s Day,
BookingBuddy, Oyster and each of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, assigns,
advertising, promotional and fulfillment agents, attorneys, and other representatives and the
persons with whom each of the above are domiciled. Void in AK, HI, RI, all U.S. territories and
possessions outside the 48 contiguous United States, and wherever prohibited or restricted by
law.

ENTRY PERIOD
The Sweepstakes will commence on October 11, 2016 at 12:00:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and
end on November 8, 2016 at 12:00:00 p.m. ET (the “Entry Period”). Entries must be received by
November 8, 2016 at 12:00:00 p.m. ET to be valid.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
One (1) potential prize winner will be selected by a random drawing from among all eligible
entries received. Potential prize winner will be chosen by HarperCollins no later than November
8, 2016. Potential prize winner will be notified by email and required to execute and return an
Affidavit of Eligibility and publicity/liability release (the “Affidavit & Release”) and IRS Form
W-9 and a publicity/liability release (the “Companion Release”) from their one (1) traveling
companion within seven (7) days of notification delivery. If the potential prize winner does not
return the Affidavit & Release and the Companion Release within seven (7) days of delivery, the
winner will be disqualified, the prize will be deemed forfeited, and an alternate prize winner will
be randomly selected using the same method above. If the potential prize winner or a traveling
companion has not reached the age of majority in their state of residence, the foregoing
documents must be executed by their respective parent or legal guardian. Prize winner will be
required to supply Sponsor with his/her social security number for tax purposes. Prize winner is
solely responsible for all federal, state and/or local taxes and for any other fees or costs
associated with the prizes they receive, regardless of whether it, in whole or in part, are used.
Prize winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 MISC for the ARV (defined below) of the Prize.
PRIZE AND ITS APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”)
One verified winner will receive one (1) cruise prize (“Prize”) consisting of: (i) $500 American
Express gift card that may be used to pay for airfare to the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area; (ii) one
(1) cruise for the winner and one (1) guest on the Seven (7) day Eastern Caribbean cruise,
embarking and disembarking from Fort Lauderdale, FL; (ii) cruise accommodations in one (1)
double occupancy balcony stateroom; and (iv) a library of Avon books, including My American
Duchess by Eloisa James, The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean, Runaway Vampire by
Lynsay Sands, Stone Cold Cowboy by Jennifer Ryan, Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis, The

Irresistible by Rachel Gibson .Total ARV of Prize: $3,502. PRIZE WINNER AND GUEST
ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL EXPENSES NOT INCLUDED IN
PRIZE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, MEALS AND ANY APPLICABLE
TRAVEL TO/FROM FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. All prize details not specified in the

Official Rules will be determined in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Any difference
between stated ARV and actual value of Prize will not be awarded. Prize is non-transferrable and
cannot be sold or redeemed for cash. In the event that the Prize, or any portion of the Prize, is
unavailable, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a cash payment of equal or greater value.
Cruise must be completed by December 29, 2017 or prize will be forfeited. All Cruises must be
taken during the time period specified; no alternative cruise dates are available or Grand Prize
will be forfeited. All prize details are subject to availability and restrictions such as blackout
dates, including holidays (e.g. November 22-26, 2016 and December 20-31, 2016, November 22-
26, 2017 and December 20-31, 2017).
Cruise includes all regular onboard meals and entertainment and applicable government taxes,
fees and port expenses for cruise only. Prize winner is solely responsible for any and all expenses
and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the prize description herein, including but not
limited to any and all ground and air transportation, gasoline, tolls, parking, shore excursions
fees, discretionary hotel and dining charges, meals and beverages in alternate dining venues,
alcoholic beverages, boutique purchases, gratuities, and any other personal incidental costs or
other expenses not specifically set forth herein. Prize winner will be required to provide a valid
major debit or credit card upon cruise check-in and all stateroom charges not specified as part of
the prize, including, but not limited to, mini-bar, room service, laundry services, telephone,
internet, and/or movies, will be charged to the prize winner’s valid major debit or credit card
provided. All reservations and cruise arrangements including, without limitation, the dates and
times are at the sole discretion of Princess Cruises Ltd. (“Princess Cruises”). If prize winner is
eligible, but a minor in his/her state of residence, the travel guest must be prize winner’s parent
or legal guardian. Cruise guest must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of booking, unless
the prize winner is the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Minors must be accompanied at all
times during trip (including, but not limited to, cruise travel, cruise activities, and all other prize-
related events) by minor’s parent or legal guardian. Prize winner and guest must cruise on same
itinerary. Cruise guest must (or a cruise guest’s parent or legal guardian if guest is an eligible
minor in his/her state/province of residence) sign and return a Cruise liability/publicity release
before any ticketing of cruise occurs. Prize winner and guest must have all necessary
identification and/or cruise documents (including but not limited to a valid U.S. driver’s license,
valid passport, visa (if applicable), and all other necessary travel documents) required for Cruise.
Once guest is selected, they may not be substituted, except in Sponsor’s sole and absolute
discretion. Cruise is subject to the terms and conditions of the Princess Cruises passage contract.
As set forth in more detail in the passage contract, Princess Cruises reserves the right to refuse to
embark prize winner or any guest, at any time if, in the sole opinion of Princess Cruises, prize
winner or guest, or any minor or other person in prize winner or guest’s care during the cruise,
are unfit for any reason for the Cruise. Sponsor and Princess Cruises shall not be responsible for
any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by
Cruise operators or any other persons providing any Prize-related services or accommodations.
Neither Sponsor nor Princess Cruises has made no warranty or guarantee in whole or in part,
express or implied, in fact or in law, in relation to the use of any prize, including, but not limited
to, its quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or suitability for use and, further,
accepts no responsibility for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of any
government or authority.

Prize winner and guest are also responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of
insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor and/or Princess Cruises have
not, and will not, obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Lost, stolen
or damaged Cruise tickets, travel vouchers or certificates will not be replaced or exchanged. In
the event the Prize is unclaimed, it will not be awarded. Additional prize award details and
travel information to be provided to the prize winner at the time of notification.
BY ACCEPTING PRIZE, PRIZE WINNER ACCEPTS (AND AGREES TO CONFIRM IN
WRITING) THE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS NATURE AND RISK IN SEA TRAVEL,
INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH, AND ACKNOWLEDGES THAT
HIS/HER PARTICIPATION IN THE PRIZE EVENT IS VOLUNTARY, ACKNOWLEDGES
THAT THERE ARE NATURAL FACTORS AND OCCURRENCES WHICH MAY HAVE AN
IMPACT ON OR AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE ACTIVITIES HE/SHE IS PARTICIPATING
IN AND HE/SHE ASSUMES THE RISK OF SUCH FACTORS AND OCCURRENCES AND
AGREES THAT PROMOTIONAL PARTIES (DEFINED HEREIN) SHALL NOT BE IN ANY
WAY HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RESULTING INJURY AND/OR DEATH. ALL
TRAVEL SUBJECT TO ANY AND ALL RESTRICTIONS INSTITUTED BY THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND/OR THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, AS REQUIRED.
CONDITIONS
By participating, entrants affirm that they have read these Official Rules, agree to be bound by
them and the selection of the prize winner, which shall be final, and waive any right to claim
ambiguity in the Sweepstakes and/or these Official Rules. Acceptance of prizes constitutes
permission for HarperCollins, Princess Cruises, Woman’s Day, BookingBuddy and Oyster to use
the prize winner's name, likeness, biography, and prize won for purposes of advertising,
promotion and publicity without additional compensation, except where prohibited or restricted
by law.
As a condition of entering, entrants (or their parent or legal guardian if an eligible minor) agree
(and agree to confirm in writing): (a) to release, discharge and hold harmless HarperCollins,
Princess Cruises Ltd., Woman’s Day, BookingBuddy, Oyster and their parent companies,
affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, sales representatives, distributors, and each of their officers,
directors, employees and agents (“Promotional Parties”), from any and all liability, loss or
damage incurred with respect to the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, the following: (i)
late, lost, incomplete, delayed, misdirected or unintelligible entries, (ii) any printing,
typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the
Sweepstakes, (iii) any damage to the entrant's computer, related equipment, data files, and
software resulting from entrant's downloading of information regarding the Sweepstakes or
participation in the Sweepstakes, and (iv) any personal or other injury resulting from the use or
enjoyment of the prize, and (v)the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any
prize, including any traveling related thereto; (b) under no circumstance will entrant be permitted
to obtain awards for, and entrant herebywaives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental,
consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) to resolve
all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or any prize awarded,

individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) that any and all claims,
judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding
attorneys’ fees and court costs. In the event the integrity and/or feasibility of the Sweepstakes is
undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake,
explosion, labor dispute, or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot
or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state,
provincial or local government law, order of regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or
other cause not reasonably within the Sponsor’s control (each a “Force Majeure” event) the
Sponsor shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or
terminate the Sweepstakes without notice or further obligation. If the Sponsor, in its discretion,
elects to abbreviate, cancel or terminate the Sweepstakes as a result of a Force Majeure event, the
Sponsor reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to award the prizes from among all valid
and eligible entries received up to the time of such Force Majeure event.
HarperCollins, Princess®, Woman’s Day, BookingBuddy and Oyster may use the personally
identifiable information obtained from the entrants in accordance with their respective privacy

HarperCollins reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this
Sweepstakes should a virus, bug, computer problem or other causes beyond HarperCollins's
control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Sweepstakes.
HarperCollins may prohibit you from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in
its sole discretion, it determines that you are attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of
the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking or employing other unfair practices or by abusing other
entrants or the representatives of HarperCollins.
ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR
UNDERMINE THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF
CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND, IN SUCH EVENT, HARPERCOLLINS RESERVES
THE RIGHT TO PURSUE ITS REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING COSTS AND
ATTORNEY'S FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.
Any dispute arising from the Sweepstakes will be determined according to the laws of the State
of New York, without reference to its conflict of laws principles, and the entrants consent to the
personal jurisdiction of the State and Federal Courts located in the State and County of New
York over them and agree that such courts have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes.
There shall be no right or authority for any disputes to be arbitrated on a class action basis or in a
purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public, or other persons similarly
situated.
