The new AVK range of Water Meter Boundary Boxes, comprises of a class leading, composite Grade B surface box able to withstand an 8 tonne loading and allowing, if required, Automated Meter Reading Technology (AMR).

With patented push-fit connections in d20, 25and 32mm, ½" HG and also ¾" BSP Female threaded.

• The unique surface box element has a 8 tonne rating, suitable for footpaths and driveways with regular traffic.

• Available as a fully sealed Class 1 or unsealed Class 2.

• Telescopic with a height adjustment from 555-850mm.

• The base unit manifold is a one piece design with a minimum number of components, reducing potential leak paths.

• Patented push-fit connections - no need to twist and also demountable by unscrewing nut.

The AVK range is manufactured by AVK Plastics in the Netherlands. The standard d25mm sealed version is available ex-stock at our National Distribution Centre in Corby, Northamptonshire.

The AVK has been designed to offer the installer advantages during installation and also the local utility once it is in operation, with or without a water meter. The AVK push-fit joints allow an easy connection but also if required can be de-constructed with ease.

The O-ring seal will ensure a reliable connection when the pipe is inserted. Height adjustment can be easily achieved for re-instating by adjusting the telescopic sliding guard. The surface box also has a 7° degree angle of adjustment and once installed the Grade B composite surface box can withstand a class leading 8 tonne load.

Surface box • Surface Box is Grade B – 8 tonne rated as

standard. Grade C – 3 tonne rating can be offered.

• Grade B means that it can be installed in a driveway and footpath with regular traffic.

• Composite materials do not hinder the radio signal if AMR is being used.

• 70 angle of adjustment if on slope.

1. Mark the pipe 54mm from the end.2. Prepare hole with level base.3. Remove stickers from push fit connections and take plastic sleeves out of push fit.4. Place sleeves into pipes and insert pipes into push fit connections (no need to twist). Push pipe as far as marked in step 1.

9. Use a straight edge to make sure the top of the boundary box is perfectly aligned with the ground level.10. Continue filling the hole with ±100mm layers of gravel and compact thoroughly at each step.

5. Remove cover and insulation pad. To remove the insulation pad, push one side down to be able to take it out. Store cover and pad in a clean area.6. Adjust height of telescopic boundary box.

11. For high load bearing requirements it is necessary to lay sufficient support, from 30mm under the cover frame up to the top of the cover frame.

7. Fill hole with gravel in steps of ±100mm layers and compact each layer.8. When the gravel is ±50mm over the outer sleeve, the top of the boundary box needs to be adjusted with the ground level.

12. Clean the seal area in the cover frame so it is clear of debris.13. Reinsert the insulation pad and place the cover onto the boundary box.
