Highlights 2013-14• AVID students are attending the following
colleges in this fall: UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCSB, Sacramento State, San Jose State, San Francisco State, and Cal State Channel Islands.
• Other AVID students currently attend UC Riverside, UCLA, Cal-Poly, Cal State Northridge, University of San Francisco, Westmont College, Mount St. Mary’s College, LaVerne University, and the University of Oregon.
• 5 AVID students were chosen as Distinguished Dons
• 7 AVID students received SBHS Almuni Scholarships
AVID 2014-15
• The AVID program at Santa Barbara High School expanded this year from 8 sections to 10 sections.
• AVID has strong tutorial support this year from Cal-SOAP, UCSB Pathways, and the Academic Mentors Program.
• 2 AVID Family Nights are planned in November and February.
• Many AVID students are involved in extra-curricular activities including: sports, ASB, Link Crew, Future Leaders of America, and their own AVID Clubs.
