Remember those days of youth when you might have had an innocent crush on a teacher or a beautiful neighbour? There was always something innocent about these crushes, and despite having left the years of youth and innocence behind, remembering them will probably bring a smile to your face. The Italian movie “Malena,” starring Monica Bellucci and Giuseppe Sulfaro, explores the feelings of a 12-year-old boy for an older woman, who leaves an everlasting impression upon him.WWII is at its peak, and Malena’s husband, Nino Scordia, is presumed to be dead after joining the military. Malena moves into a new town, which she has a deep impact on. The townsmen are smitten by her beauty, while the women despise it. The tension reaches sky high when a woman accuses Malena of having an affair with her husband and takes her to court, where Malena is acquitted but publically disrobed by the women. Amidst all these events, 12-year-old Renato develops his first crush on Malena, but soon his fantasies turn

into an obsession as he secretly stalks her. The movie deals with the theme of beauty as a curse. The presumption that her husband is dead unleashes a series of both physical and psychological attacks against Malena. The story perfectly portrays how society’s gaze is always upon women. Men seduce her, while women taunt her, and she is the centre of attraction and threats. The movie’s director, Giuseppe Tornatore, must be applauded for brilliantly displaying the innocence of Renato’s love for Malena, depicted in the scene where Renato assumes that he is Tarzan and Malena is his Jane. He also does an excellent job illustrating the narrow-mindedness of society, such as in the scene when Malena returns to the city from which she was banished after her husband returns, and the same women who dishonoured her now acknowledge her with respect. Despite WWII raging in full swing and the city being bombed, unreciprocated

love blossoms in a 12-year-old boy, who is proof that love can blossom anywhere.

malena“I pedalled as fast as I could, as if I were escaping from longing , from innocence, from her. Time has passed, and I have loved many women. And as they’ve held me close, and asked if I will remember them, I’ve said: ‘Yes, I will remember you.’ But the only one I’ve never forgotten is the one who never asked: Malena” By Tausif Sanzum

Catch “Damages” on AXN, a show composed with technical brilliance, twisting plots and non-linear narration. The story deals with the brilliant but ruthless lawyer Patty Hewes played by the five times Oscar nominee Glenn Close. While most mystery series unfold over a one hour episode, “Damages” deals with season long cases from the point of view of not only the law firms, but also the target. A brilliant Emmy winning courtroom mystery drama awaits you in “Damages.”

One of the better fairy tale adaptations that Hollywood has recently churned out, “Jack the Giant Slayer” is the story of Jack, played by Nicholas Hoult. since childhood Jack was fascinated with the legend of King Erik, the man who defeated the giants and sent them back to realms of the sky they came from. After a series of events, the giants return to earth angrier and stronger than ever. The best parts of this movie are Ewan McGregor, the graphics and the action sequences. The downers are that the screenplay could have been tighter, and the love angle could have been sketched out better.

Regardless of the Lancer’s age, its “shark-nose” front accent, pointed headlights and crunchy lines give it attractive attributes compared to other small sedans. Though the cabin is not as unique as the exterior, it features a pleasing and simple design, and the controls are logically arranged. Where the Lancer stands out from of her competition is in the realm of choice: the sedan offers two different motors, and the model line-up includes the legendary Lancer Evolution, which features a 291-horsepower engine and better handling than many sports cars costing three times more. You can keep your hand on the hood and feel the echoes of its rally pedigree. The entry-level Lancer sedan motor

is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder with 109 horsepower. Even though it’s equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a CVT is also available for those who choose it. Fuel economy is rated at 12km/l (city) and 14km/l (highway). The Lancer Sedan is offered in GLX, GLS, GT and Evolution trim levels. The entry-level GLX comes standard with the manual gearbox/1.5-litre motor combo in addition to power windows and locks, a six-speaker, 140-watt AM/FM/CD sound system, auto-off headlights, a multi-information display and 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps. The GLS adds air-conditioning, keyless entry, as well as colour-keyed door handles, mirrors and chrome grille

surround. Unlike the GLX, the GLS can be selected with the CVT and 16-inch alloy wheels. The GT brings the all-wheel drive and the 1.5-litre engine joined with the CVT. Other additional options include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats and side mirrors, a roof rack, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Finally, the four-wheel-drive Evolution X features a sport-tuned suspension, Mitsubishi’s Rockford Fosgate infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, voice command functionality, a USB port, a rear spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Beating the dehydration blues

Iftar: Often, we mistake thirst for hunger, and end up eating way more than our bodies need. Try making fresh fruit juice such as pineapple or orange juice, and sip on it throughout iftar. The moment you break your fast, try and drink two glasses of water. One 500ml water bottle consists of two glasses. This will significantly reduce your hunger pangs and help you eat less. Once you are done with iftar, carry another 500ml water bottle with you, and sip on it until dinner.

DInner: Again, begin dinner with one glass of water, if not two. To ease up on your diet, try having soup, such as lentil or chicken soup for dinner. This

will also help ward off dehydration during the day. Vegetables such as unripened papaya and cucumber will also do wonders to keep you hydrated. Try having at least another four glasses of water by midnight.

SehrI: Cut down on rice and have a lighter meal for sehri, such as brown bread. To add some fun to sehri, experiment with different yoghurt dips. Not only will yoghurt keep your stomach cool, it’s also a refreshing alternative to all the fried leftovers we usually have for sehri. Finish your meal with another two glasses of water.

With fasting and feasting in full swing this Ramadan, we often forget the most vital part of our meals: water. Once we begin huffing and puffing in the heat, we remember with regret how we gobbled down the piaju and jilapi for our last iftar, forgetting all about water in our food fervour. With summer doing its best to beat our spirits, dehydration slowly makes its presence felt in our dry throats and parched mouths. Follow Avenue T’s guide to making sure you can breeze your way through Ramadan, and enjoy a healthy, comfortable diet while fulfilling your daily requirement of 10-12 glasses of water By N Anita Amreen

Survival

Tips & Tricks

Undeniably, the most exasperating person to deal with during Ramadan is your tailor. A misplaced button, a different coloured lace or an oversized fit – during the rush hours before Ramadan, tailors end up doing it all. Sometimes they say they forgot, sometimes they blame you for never mentioning a little detail, and other times they deny taking an order at all By N Anita Amreen

Say goodbye to tailoring dilemmas

here are a few effective tips to really get what you want, and get it on time:

Make hIM take noteS:Every time you place an order, don’t allow your tailor to make illegible scribbles. Tell him to take elaborate, detailed notes. If necessary, write down everything for him yourself so that he cannot miss a detail. Also, ask him to show you the note when he delivers the clothes, so that you can compare the results with the notes.

Bully hIM:Tailors are usually swamped with work in Ramadan. As a result, it’s easy for them to forget or misplace clothes. The ideal way to keep him in the loop is to bully him. In other words, call him every other day, pester him for your clothes, and keep asking him when he’ll be done. GIve hIM Monetary IncentIveS:When your tailor is done with one set of clothes, never pay him his complete dues, especially if you’re placing

a second order. Always make sure you owe him a substantial amount. Promise to pay that, including the current dues, once he’s done with the second batch of clothes. That way, he’ll be more inclined towards completing your second order, just so he can take his previous dues from you.

Style Session

Swap for moccasins

here are a few easy steps to help you prepare for the coming days and easily to help handle both work and iftar invitations (or any invite, really) with style.

1 the nIGht Before your InvIte IS crucIalGet work out of the way before it begins by avoiding the food coma and laying out the outfits you will be wearing the day after.

2 two lookS ShoulD Be too eaSyYou’ve got your work clothes and the sophisticated getup for the evening. The work clothes should be easy to get in and out of. The less time you take to change, the more time you can take to

look your best for the special evening.

3 tIMInG IS everythInGYou never want to rush when getting into your classy wear. This is why the former steps are important for a delightful evening. Give yourself an estimated time of when you’ll arrive home to change. Everything should be laid out on your bed and ready to go.Although these steps are so simple, men forget to take a step back and think things through. Being lethargic doesn’t help either. It takes time to look flawless, and while being stylish may come naturally, the entire process is premeditated.

Loafers come in all sorts of designs nowadays, and the moccasin loafers are a stand out. For the more important and dressed up occasions, leather moccasins are a perfect fit. For occasions that are a little laid back, the suede moccasin driver shoes would be the go-to footwear with panjabi and jeans. Originally used by Native Americans, these shoes have an ethnic

feel to them and mesh quite well with contemporary styles. Let’s not forget how comfortable they can be, making it a relaxing process to slip them on and off from house to house. If you decide to wear these with a more dressed up look, make sure to avoid any loud colours. Stick to basics and choose simple colours, which are the safest and best way to sport the entire

outfit. Also, note that you should not be wearing socks with these. Please don’t. What should be showing are the shoes, so whichever bottom you choose to wear, like jeans, make sure they are at or slightly above your ankles. Rolling them up won’t affect the look.

Panjabis, sherwanis, achkans and what have you, are staples for a traditional and classy outing. For men, there isn’t too much accessorising with these looks, so why not mix things up a little? This season is all about fusion, respecting culture and welcoming the new, so let’s try to lose the open-toed shoes and opt for something a bit modern and sophisticated

A SMOOTH TRAnSITIOnHis Style

Summer combined with Ramadan is enough to leave anyone exhausted, and it becomes difficult to plan out a hectic day during this time. While we all have work during the day, we still have family and friends to attend to later on. Many may wonder how they can go from work to an iftar party without delay, which obviously calls for a rushed job

Q: I’m a really built guy (some may say I’m a gym rat) and I like wearing fitted shirts. The only problem is that my nipples show when I wear T-shirts. Is there a way around this?

A: A bra perhaps? Jokes aside, try wearing an undershirt. In most cases, that helps a lot. If that fails, my friend, there is really one thing you should be doing: stop wearing such tight shirts. It’s one way or the other. If you like being fit, embrace it and enjoy being a spectacle, but if you get embarrassed easily, really think things through. You’ve decided to have this figure, so try and work your way around it. Simply stop wearing such tight clothing. It’s very unflattering for any man. You want the clothes you wear to hug you, not squeeze you.

Q: Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of so-called “stylish men” wearing trousers and jeans that expose the ankles. The hem cuts off or is folded right above the ankles. I think this looks ridiculous, why do they promote this trend?

A: It all comes down to individual style. Trend setters start off in such a manner that they influence even the most stylish of men. It’s personal taste, and having the hem of a trouser fall right above the shoe is still perfectly fine. In fact, that’s how it should be. But there isn’t any harm showing a little ankle either. When you see this on GQ or other fashion sources, it’s mainly to show off the socks. It’s a selling point. If you can’t see how the item looks with an outfit, it becomes hard to sell the product. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean it’s the ultimate trend, so don’t consider yourself forgotten if you don’t follow it.

Picking the right colour for your hair can be tricky. I always recommend colouring your hair at the salon by a professional. To determine your exact skin tone, the easiest thing to do is look at the veins in your wrists under a natural light. If you see green, you have a warm undertone. Blue would mean you have a cool undertone, and something in between would mean you have a neutral undertone. Taking a close look at the colours of clothes and make-up that suit you can also help, as choosing these colours follow the same theory.

chappeD hanDS: Dry, chapped hands are a real problem for anyone who enjoys the outdoors or does heavy housework. Try Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, available at Priyo Stores in Gulshan and Dhanmondi. Many perfectly polished beauties also swear that glycerine combats dry skin. A few drops of Meril Glycerine mixed with a little water can work wonders. It’s best to dilute the glycerine, which is very concentrated and can feel sticky otherwise.

SMuDGeS: Apply varnish remover to smudged polish to smoothen it out. Let it dry, and follow up with a thin coat of varnish.

lonG-laStInG varnISh: When you are looking for a superior nail enamel, look out for the type that contains ground herring scales. This strange ingredient is known in the industry as “natural pearl.” It gives varnish an extra shine and causes it to stay true longer.

yellow naIlS: To prevent the discolouration that occurs with nail polish stains, always use a base coat of superior quality. If going without varnish, soak your nails in vinegar to get rid of the yellow tint.

pale naIlS: Although pale nails can be hereditary, they are more often the result of poor circulation or anaemia. Take an iron supplement or add iron rich foods to your diet.

peelInG naIlS: Avoid quick-dry varnishes that contain acetone, which can dry out your nails. Always file nails lightly, just enough to shape and keep the layers even. Uneven nails have a tendency to peel.

The gentleman’s turn

Gentlemen, you didn’t think we forgot about you, did you? This Eid, let’s try to do things right. As men, you’d think we wouldn’t have too much to worry about when it comes to dressing up for the special occasion. Wrong. For men, a sharp look is always in the details. It may not be as complicated as a woman’s wardrobe, but the little things, from head to toe, make the biggest differences. Before we dive into the different body types, there’s one thing you may not know. Regardless the style of clothing , the fit is the most important step to any outfit. It is the constant in all body types. We’ve already covered the more stylish substitutions for a traditional panjabi in a past issue of Avenue T. The swap has been made, and now here’s how to dress according to your body type. One huge advantage for the fit and healthy men out there is that suiting up in fitted clothing won’t be an issue. Getting the right measurements will have the clothing hug your figure – that’s how it’s supposed to look. But let’s be honest, most of you are sporting a gut underneath those layers of threads, and not all of us are blessed with genes that let us show off a lean and toned figure. Another truth is that Eid will result in you packing on a few extra kilograms, but the invitations and food can wait, so let’s get down to business. Whether you are wearing an achkan, angrakha, or panjabi, nothing will look great if it’s ill-fitted By Mahmood Hossain

13Trends

The short man1 You have to be completely honest with yourself. Admit the fact that you are short, and buy or make short-length clothing. Don’t fight your height, embrace it. Make it work for you. Show confidence and comfortable stance.2 A pant leg with a very little break will make you look taller. Whether you decide to wear pyjamas, jeans, or casual trousers, make sure the break falls right above your ankles. You don’t want the pyjamas touching the floor, they have to drop far enough that your feet still show.3 The sleeves, like a suit jacket, should reach your wrist. Don’t go for anything shorter, and definitely not longer. 4 Sandals or shoes should be slender and light. Bulky and large heels are not attractive. The heavier the footwear, the more you look like you have a ball of chains hanging off your ankles.

what not to Do:• This should be an obvious, but don’t wear anything longer than you’re supposed to. If you thought it made you look tall, you’re deluding yourself.

• Always stay away from wide designs and detailing. Getting into something slim is your best bet. “Slim fit,” remember to say that every time you try on something new.

The tall man1 Illusions are the best part of styling. Light colours, believe it or not, add width to your narrow figure.2 Just because you’re tall, don’t automatically think you need everything to be extra-large. Remember, fitting is vital! 3 Similar rules apply for taller men, your cuffs should reach a little past the wrist. When you stretch or move about, the sleeves should expose more of your wrist and the rest of the arm. Anything shorter will be unflattering.4 The break for the pant leg should

fall a little past your ankles. Again, you don’t want to look taller than you already are.

what not to Do:• Never wear anything that is wider in the shoulders. If you are tall and slender, this will make you look frail and unfit.• Footwear needs to a little more rounded. Do not wear anything pointy. They will make your feet look longer than they are. Most Bangladeshi men aren’t as tall as you, so cut us some slack and stay away from heels. You’re tall as it is, so you stand out. Anything more and we’ll find you a sash that reads “Prom King.”

The large man1 A very cool trick for the round and large men is that you’ll find some pieces, like an achkan, that have a single front breast pocket. What’s that for? A pocket square. No lie, the pocket square will divert the attention away from your belly and towards your chest.2 If there are any buttons in your outfit, always button them up! Unless you’re sitting down, keeping the buttons open will only make you look wider.3 Wear solid colours instead of loud patterns and intricate designs. This won’t cut down on a sophisticated look, it’ll just keep you away from being an eyesore. You can still look smart without the flash.4 Do try on numbers that have wider cuts and designs. This can be a bit tricky. You don’t want anything slimming, which will only make you look fatter. You don’t want a size larger than you are either. Again, like anything else, fitting is key. Your clothes shouldn’t be tight or even hug you, they should feel as if they fall on your shoulders just right. Not loose, but enough room for breathing.

what not to Do:• If you have a belly, never try tight fitted clothing. Never. Wearing black or vertical stripes do not slim you down in this case. The rules aren’t the same as wearing a suit.• Don’t wear slender and light footwear. You’re a solid man, and you need solid shoes. There needs to be something that anchors all that weight. When’s the last time you saw a 1.5m, 113kg man in ballet flats? Neither have we.

No matter the shape, you should know that following the right procedures and putting in the extra effort will only benefit your image. More importantly, your confidence will lay the foundation for future looks you may want to take a shot at. Grooming regularly and properly will also make a huge difference in your overall look. The best way to get the right look is to get your clothes made by the tailors. Of course, it’s too late for that, but there are plenty of events to come. It’s not just the clothes, it’s how you wear them and project them to the rest of the world. The right attitude and the right wardrobe will make you look like a million bucks. Trust me gentlemen, you’re worth it

Letters to Venus

I’m a 27-year-old woman in a relationship with a man for the last three years. before my current relationship, I’ve had two other relationships that didn’t end well. I’m a very insecure person, and get completely attached to whomever I’m with. Even if I’m facing the worst difficulties, I can never let go of who I’m with because I’m helplessly afraid of life without that special someone. this fear of loss stops me from breaking up, even if it’s the right thing to do. Is there any way I can learn to love myself enough to not be this dependent?K

Parenting

I’m a 37-year-old married man. My wife and I dated for eight years before getting married. One year into our marriage, I brought up having a child, but she seemed the least bit interested. I know I’m pressuring her, but I’m ageing and don’t want to lose this opportunity. Her career has just kicked off, and she’s dedicating all her time to work. I know and understand her career is important, and have been understanding about her work commitments for as long as I can remember, but I can’t do this anymore.

She says she doesn’t want kids right now, but later. Later when? She’s 35-years-old, and time is stopping for no one. D

Dear D, Perhaps your wife does not want children and feels satisfied with your relationship and her work. I have known a number

of women who were happy with this decision. Where does that leave you?Talk to her in a quiet and loving way, and tell her about your concerns. Promise her you will take 50% of the responsibilities to look after the baby so that she is free to pursue her career as much you do. Do not forget to tell her you love her and feel very happy with her, and that a baby will be like a cherry on top of the cake. It would make you feel complete, and most importantly, you want “her” baby.

By Dina SobhanMy daughter just hit puberty. Although I have managed to discuss the changes a girl’s body goes through, I haven’t been able to bring myself to talk about sex. What is the right way to discuss this topic with her?TR

Dear TR,I’m not sure there is a “right” way to discuss such a sensitive topic with a teen-ager. It greatly depends on how close you are to her, and the level of comfort you have with the topic. I suggest reading a couple of books or searching on-line for ways to address the issue. Having said that, if you’re comfortable and casual about the topic, and discuss the facts without any moral biases, you should be fine. Just be careful not to make her feel as though it’s something bad or wrong. You want her to be well-informed and prepared when she is introduced to sex, so she can make a decision that is right for her.

Of course there is, dear K. Every indi-vidual wants to feel good about her-self. To begin with, know that you are entitled to a good relationship. How do you get to feel entitled?1) Observe your thoughts: if your thoughts are always about fear, you will encourage more fear into your mind.2) Reassure the part of you that is not strong and independent, and replace fearful, judgmental or nega-tive thoughts. Let’s assume you are Kavita, and you should say to yourself: “Kavita, you are okay, you are safe. Life likes you and wants the best for you. If this relationship does not make you happy, it is not for you. You live in a world of abundance, and when the time is right, the right person will

come to you with ease and joy.”3) At first, it will not be easy, as you do not believe what you’re telling your-self. But as Shakespeare said: “If a vir-tue you have it not, assume it,” or as today’s idiom says: “Fake it until you make it.” And, as Shakespeare remind-ed his readers in King Lear, “practice makes perfect.”4) We are creatures of habit: we get attached to our habits even if they are no good for us. Keep repeating the sentence above throughout the day, but especially when the doubts are stronger. You will be surprised how many of us are in situations like yours. Try the steps above, and let us know how it goes – you will give others courage to do the same.

Originally an Australian franchise, Cookie Man is a bakery that specialises in a wide assortment of freshly baked cookies and a variety of muffins, biscotto, brownies, etc. Be it crispy, crumbly, chewy or even lathered in chocolate sauce, they’ve got it all and more. Their baked goodies are divided into sections such as the “crispy crunchy cookies,” “indulgence cookies,” “choco dipped” and “handlines.” Going hand in hand with their cookies is their savoury menu, which consists of light snacks and both hot and cold beverages. If their savoury items don’t float your boat, their coffee from North End Coffee Roasters and their perfect lemonade concoction most certainly will.

At a glance, the simplicity of the decor and rather straightforward, cafe-like interior will have you believe that Cookie Man is just another ordinary cafe. However, once you take a good look at their baked items, you’ll notice the wide range of sweet goodies on display.

Crispy crunchy cookies have an assortment of interesting combinations, such as the coconut macaroon, chocolate cashew, almond tea, and regular favourites such as chocolate chip and shortbread.

Among these, the brandy snap lives up to its name of being “crispy” thanks to its crunchy texture and thin size. Despite having these meagre virtues, it is still borderline satisfactory. The only downside to their crispy, crunchy

cookies is that they aren’t always available for sale in small quantities; they are usually sold in bulk.

If you manage to get over that slight glitch in their sugary armour, it’s a safe bet to pick from the bakery’s indulgence section, consisting of caramel cashew, white choco raspberry, sticky date supreme and several more. The apricot supreme in particular is light, decadent and just sweet enough to give you that light apricot flavour. What the apricot supreme misses in terms of richness and taste, the milky choc chew makes up for. Composed of swirls of both white and milk chocolate, the milky choc’s chewy texture manages to nail the basics of any regular chocolate combo cookie: simple, chocolaty and perhaps pleasant enough to go for second helpings.

What really takes the cake is not any of the cookies, but the caramel fudge brownie: beautifully crafted sheets of chocolate and caramel align to create a devilishly delicious brownie that lures foodies with its inviting folds. Composed of rich, chocolaty flavours cushioned with the velvety mush of the caramel, this standout item will make your taste buds stand at attention, demanding a satisfactory sigh.

In comparison to the reigning flavour and texture of this brownie, the milk chip brownie seems rather lacklustre. But what seems lacklustre in times of heightened senses may very well seem absolutely delightful when senses aren’t so blurred with intoxicating pleasure. That being said, the chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies do fairly well, proving to be just what you would expect, which should not be much given previous tastings. For those of you who don’t enjoy mushy textures, make sure to stop your waiter from warming up your cookies, as that is a practice they seem to be accustomed to.

All in all, Cookie Man has managed to bring forward a unique experience in terms of diverse offerings and an oddly apt mix of a both savoury and sweet menu. Always open to suggestions, and constantly on the lookout for newer and better ways of doing things, the owners are shining examples of excellent customer service. With their store open before and during the festivities of Eid, don’t hesitate to give your palate an excuse to indulge in Cookie Man’s wide variety of sweets. Make sure, however, to go with an open mind and scanty expectations, without which a satisfactory exit cannot be guaranteed.

cookie man With a host of individualistic coffee shops catering to everyone from coffee-lovers to internet browsers to socialites, Dhaka offers foodies a multitude of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and coffee shops to choose from. What it once lacked, however, was an untapped niche, one little ripple in the current of eateries that was left untouched. Exploring that untapped niche, Razia Sultana and Rifatara Rashid decided to bring forth Cookie Man, the dream of every bon vivant with a sweet tooth and a pressing desire for indulgence By N Anita Amreen Photos: Cookie Man

What to do

Where to stay

Since a journey from Dhaka to the dock is a bit long, a stop in the Teota Palace to stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air outside the capital is highly recommended. Constructed by the 18th century ruler Panchan Chaudhari as his own humble abode, this palace holds many stories and secrets of the ancient past and is worth a visit. Afterwards, the next stretch of drive should take you directly to the ferry crossing, where a return visit is a must to witness otter fishing: an unbelievable fishing technique performed with the aid of otters. For history lovers, the Zamindar Bari Ghaat, a house with its own private dock, is waiting to share its stories as you enter through its doors.

The Aurunima Country Resort is a countryside and golf resort. Situated near the remote village of Panipara and the confluence of the Modhumoti River, this resort is about 25 minutes away from places like the Zamindar Bari Ghaat. The hotel’s suites are designed with modern amenities to cater to its guests’ comfort, and numerous outdoor activities are available for entertainment in the village.

About 100km away from Dhaka and situated on the banks of the Modhumoti River, narail is home to one of the largest mass graves of freedom fighers who helped liberate our nation. In this city full of warmth, fishing is considered the most important source of income for those involved in agriculture. A trip to narail would mean experiencing rural Bangladesh at its best, while visiting numerous other historical and notable places along the way!By Farah K IqbalPhoto couresy Tiger Tours
