Change Tyres with Portable New-Age Equipments
Tyres can run of their treads very quickly if not drove on smooth surfaces. The worst case scenario is a punctured tyre. The tyre changer machine is a mounting tool apparatus that
allows the mechanic to remove and install the tyres back after repairing is done. There are
different sets and sizes of Tyre Changer machine available in the market. Each of them is designed specifically to replace the tyres of bikes, cars, jeeps, trucks, buses and
construction equipment.
The tyre changer machine is an important part of the wheel alignment and tyre installation
assembly. It is laced with all the essential components and tools required to remove and
reaffix the tyre from the wheel without spoiling the surface. Some manufacturers of the tyre
changer machine even offer miniature apparatus to replace flat tyres on the roads. They
can be kept in the boot for emergency situations.
What are the other common names used to describe the Tyre Changer Machine?
The conventional tyre changer machine is also called as Tyre mounting machine. It is
available for passenger cars and heavy duty trucks. The tyre changer machine consists of following components:
- Foot Pedals
- Mounting system - Table Top
- Clamps and Rims
- Bead Releasing/ Loosening System - Tyre installation system
Foot pedal: The conventional tyre machine changer has two
pedals. The pedal on the left hand side is called the Clamp Control Pedal while the pedal on the right hand side is the Table
top Pedal. The table top spins in particular direction when the
pedal is pressed or raised.
Tyre mounting system: The major parts of the Tyre mounting system are the Vertical
slide and the Duckhead. The vertical slide has a spring and lock handle to control the way
the tyre fits into the rim without scuffing the surface.
How a tyre installing operator uses the Tyre changer machine:
- The operator first finds the centre of the wheel and then secures it over the
table top using the rim clamp. The wheel is fastened using the narrow bead
ledge.
- The bottom bead is then pushed into the well of the wheel. The top bead
follows into the centre of the wheel directly under the duckhead.
- The operator then rotates the table top by pressing the table top pedal.
- The valve core in installed followed by tyre inflation process.
- The inflated tyres pop out the bead ledge from the wheels.
The rim clamps are then released and tyre pressure is brought to the recommended volume
as directed by the manufacturer.
Are Tyre changer Machines cross platform?
No, the tyre changer machines meant for one type of vehicle category can’t be used on
other tyres. For instance, the tyre changer machine for a motorcycle can accommodate
small wheel diameters of less than 10 inches. These certainly limit its usage for replacing
tyres of heavy duty trucks. For more visit here http://www.interequip.com.au/
