The partition system that opens up a world of possibilities

Features and benefits

– Easy pushbutton-controlledopening and closing action

– Fast opening and closingcycles

– Panel weights up to 250 kg– Configurations tailored to

the layout and architecturalrequirements of the application

– High reliability and functional dependabilitythanks to individual sliding panel drive units

– Minimal drive unit andtrack rail heights

– Space-saving stacking ofthe sliding panels whenthe partition is opened, with a choice of stackingarrangements

– Sliding panels of variousstyles and models, withindividually designedpanels also available

– Panel position monitoring– Automatic stoppage on

contact with an obstruction– Automatic locking of the

closed sliding panels– Sliding panels can also be

manually moved– Infinitely variable partial

opening– Personnel partial opening

when the partition is closed– Personnel access possible

with partition closed

When rooms need to be subdivided dependent uponvarying requirements or atcertain times of the day, ifexterior frontages need to be wide open during fineweather yet otherwise closedtight, and where intermediatewalls are required from time to time – the DORMAHSW-EM Automatic SlidingPartition System is the perfect answer.

Unmatched flexibilityMade up of individual movingpanels, the DORMA HSW-EMsystem can be adapted to almost any conceivable layout and architecturaldesign. The sliding panelsare available in various versions and can be suppliedin virtually any requiredfinish. The parking/stackingareas for accommodatingthe sliding panels when thesystem is open can be arranged in accordance withlocal requirements anddesign considerations toensure that they take up theminimum amount of space. Moreover, pre-installedmanual systems can beretro-fitted for automaticoperation at any time.

Wide range of functionsApart from the automaticopening and closing of the sliding panels, the programmable processorcontrol system also allowsthe DORMA HSW-EM automatic sliding partitionto perform a variable partialopening, or allow personnelaccess when the partition isclosed. Needless to say, thesliding panels can also bemoved easily and safely byhand, e.g. when cleaningthe floor. Once the drivesystem has been switchedon, they are automaticallypositioned in the rightsequence. Panel weightsrange up to 250 kg, andthere is no minimum panelweight.

Room dividers

Exterior frontages with enhanced thermal insulation

Partitions with sound-proofing properties

When used as room dividers, the DORMA HSW-EM systemcan be equipped with thefollowing:

– Toughened glass slidingpanels, each provided withtwo top and two bottomMANET single-pointfixings

– Toughened glass slidingpanels with full-width glazing rails top and bottom

– Straight glass slidingpanels with SECURTECfine frame system

– Curved glass slidingpanels with SECURTECfine frame system

The HSW-EM/IsoComfort version ensures a high levelof insulation and associatedcomfort when the slidingfrontage is closed. This glass sliding panel systemcomprises:

– Frames of thermal breakexternal and internal profiles with fully automatic double seal topand bottom

– Panels of double glazingor specialised glazing.

In addition, a telescopic sideelement ensures that theIsoComfort sliding panelscan be tightly pushedtogether once closed, withthe lateral seals interlockingfor total gap – and thusdraught – exclusion. (Under preparation).

The HSW-EM/IsoComfortwith its thermal break aluminium profiles and fullyautomatic double seal topand bottom, plus telescopicside element is also ideal asa sound-insulating partition.

Fitted in the frames is adouble-skin chipboard infillor similar and, on bothfaces, an individual claddingof glass, metal or wood.(Under preparation).

Essentially, the DORMAHSW-EM automatic slidingpartition system designed forapplications as a room dividercomprises the following:

Track for attaching to theceiling or wall with bi-polarbusbar system and cover

2 HSW-EM 180: Track railof anodised aluminium;plastic rollers

2 HSW-EM 250: Track railof chromium nickel steeland hardened steel rollers

Guide rails recessed inthe floor

Rollers with carriers and drive motor for each sliding panel

Sliding panels of toughenedglass, with MANET single-point fixings orSECURTEC fine framing

Stacking track of tailoreddesign and project-specific arrangement.

DORMA HSW-EM Stacking tracks

Stacking can be performedat virtually any point in the layout, e.g. in a corner, behind a projection or in the visible area of a niche. The size of the stacking areais governed by the systemdesign as well as the widthand number of slidingpanels. It also depends onwhether the sliding panelsare to be stacked in parallel,at right angles or diagonal to the direction of travel.

DORMA HSW-EM/IsoComfortautomatic sliding partitionssatisfy the very highest heatand noise insulation require-ments when closed. Refinedtechnology unmatched interms of both scope andperformance, ensures thatthe sealed system offersmaximum integrity – betweeneach individual slidingpanel, at the ceiling andfloor and, not least, betweenthe outer sliding panels andthe adjacent walls or façadeelements.

In addition, the slidingpanel frames comprise fullythermally isolated externaland internal profiles. In con-junction with correspondingglazing systems, DORMAHSW-EM/IsoComfort auto-matic sliding partitions usedas external frontages offerhigh thermal insulationvalues as well as ensuring acomfortable temperature inclose proximity to the glazedsurface.(Under preparation)

Functional principle of the DORMA HSW-EM 250 IsoComfortOptimum sealingWith the aid of an all-roundtelescopic system, effectivethermal sealing is obtainedby means of two mutuallycompatible arrangements:

Side sealsThe telescopic side elementensures that the slidingpanels can be firmly pushedtogether, enabling the sideseals to interlock. This eliminates all gaps ensuringeffective inter-panel draughtexclusion. The outer sealson the last sliding panels inline are likewise pressedagainst the adjacent wall orfaçade elements.

Sealing top and bottomActuated by the telescopicelement extends verticallyon closure of the partition, asystem of rods and leverscauses double seals top andbottom to push out of thesliding panel frame andpress against the ceiling andfloor. The sealing elementsare provided with springs tocompensate for unevennessin the mating surface.
