BUG-O ALL TIME GIRTH WELDER
Bug-o Systems offers the Automatic Girth Welderfor tank fabrication applications. Unlike currentgirth welders on the market, the BGW Seriescomes standard with a Dual Drive System. Thisself-propelled submerged arc welding system canreduce field storage tank welding time up to 40%.Weld defects are greatly reduced saving tankerection costs. The Girth Welder is applicable forbottom-up or jack-up constructed single or doublewall storage tanks inside and outside welding.There are four standard units, however our designallows us to offer custom built units for non-standard applications.
Dual DriveBug-o All Time exclusive dual AC motor design,allows for constant travel across the entire tankcircumference. When fit up is not quite perfect orthere is an uneven surface for the machine to travel,the dual motors will power the machine across theimperfection. This design can reduce the amount oftime required to repair weld defects, and candecrease the overall tank erection costs. The dualmotors are controlled by one easily programmablefrequency inverter.
Heavy Duty Flux Recovery System with FluxLifting WinchThe BGW-Series offers a flux recovery system that can hold130lbs (60 kg) of flux for use on long plate. The BGW also offersthe convenience of a Flux Lifting Winch for easy refilling of themain flux hopper. The winch can lift 350lb (159 kg) of flux up to 100feet (30.5 m) off the ground.

BuggyThe BUG-GY Fillet Welder isdesigned for making continuousor intermittent stitch welds onfillet, lap or butt joints. It is alightweight portable carriage thatuses powerful magnets andguide wheels to clamp and trackon the work piece.

Bug-gy-vertThe BUG-GY-VERT is a portable battery powered4-wheel drive welding carriage with or withouttorch oscillation. Strong permanent magnets holdthe machine on the workpiece allowing it to travelon vertical or oblique work surfaces.

The Base welds on a tank can easily be madewith either the Buggy or Buggy-vert. The Buggyand Buggy-vert fillet welders will self guide off ofthe bottom course of the tank, providing a uniformweld for the entire circumference. If there is notenough space to run the Buggy on the baseplate, the Buggy-vert can be mounted to the tankitself as long as the tank is over 25' (8 m) diameter.An optional submerged arc gun and auxiliarymagnets are available if necessary.

Rotating Flux Dam and Welding HeadThe adjustable rotating flux dam holds the flux in theweld joint and conveyors the flux to the heavy dutyflux recovery vacuum. The flux dam can be adjustedboth vertically and horizontally for easy positioningof the flux belt. The welding head has a fineadjustment vertical and horizontal cross slides thatgives 4'' x 6'' (102 x 152 mm) of adjustment. A laserpointer mounted on the welding head permits forsimple positioning of the welding wire.
Lincoln Welding Equipment and Power Source StorageThe BGW series comes complete with SAW equipment by Lincoln Electric. The DC-600 with NA-3controls and NA-3 feeders come standard on all models. Optional power sources and feeder combination
are available. The power source is stored in aweather proof container for protection. A singlepower input supplies electrical power to all thecomponents of the system. The complete BGWseries comes complete with 200' (61 m) of controlcable and welding leads with a guide on the machineitself to keep the cable away from the plate.
Environmental FeaturesA series of fireproof and weather tight canvas coversprovide protection for the operator. All models alsoinclude interior lighting and a spot light for the FluxBelt. Under the seat is the convenience of a storagearea for wire spools, tools, or whatever the operatormay need.
