Introduction

HID Global and Foundation LogicSystems have partnered to deliver the most robust asset management program available to hotels, resorts, casinos, theme parks, industrial laundries and other uniform and linen industries. Foundation LogicSystems’ asset management solutions seamlessly integrate with HID Global transponders to help businesses accurately track linens, uniforms, and other assets to increase inventory visibility, and deliver on time and on budget results without adding steps to the process.

Automated Linen and Uniform Management

Industries that use cloth and fabric items in their operations know that these are costly to purchase and replace, and they have a predictable life cycle. Hotels, casinos, hospitals, laundries, ski resorts, theme parks, stadiums and arenas are businesses that require heavy usage of uniforms, various linens, and laundry services daily. Tracking and handling these assets can be a time consuming and an expensive task. A comprehensive asset management software program is essential to handle this operation and control costs.

An automated system keeps track of each item from distribution to laundry and restocking through its entire life cycle. Inventory tracking is made easier and loss due to theft or employee error can be limited or eliminated. The solution is also capable of automating the inventory restocking process by determining when an asset has reached rag out time; therefore, ordering new stock is seamless.

Foundation LogicSystems Asset Management Software

Foundation LogicSystems asset management software systems enable organizations to gain better visibility into inventory levels and asset status while reducing operational costs due to theft, shrinkage, lost or misplaced items. Your organization needs to be able to account for every asset in your operation.

Since the inception of RFID tag testing and inventory tracking, Foundation LogicSystems software has been helping companies stay on budget. Our asset management systems allow organizations to track resources of any material - cloth, metal, plastic or wood.

Increased accuracy is one of the primary benefits of RFID powered software management systems. Before RFID, when soiled items were sent out to a commercial laundry, it was weighed to get an estimated count for billing. This was the big problem; hotels had no way of knowing what items were sent out or returned. Now through the use of RFID tags, readers, and antennas, hundreds of pieces can be counted in seconds with virtually no error and greatly reduced staff hours. What goes out comes back in, and you only pay for services rendered.

RFID readers and antennas can count up to a thousand tags per pass.

Hand-held RFID scanners can count hundreds of tags in real-time using WiFi connectivity.

Software for All Applications

Foundation LogicSystems’ programs are robust, highly flexible and customizable to an operation’s specific needs. Specific category base systems include Uniform Manager, Linen Manager, Towel Manager, and Laundry Manager. The Asset Manager is a complete program that does the same tasks as the individual category management programs, but for a variety of asset types and materials. Each system can run multiple locations and features detailed reporting, including depreciation calculation, maintenance history, status, real time inventory count and availability, par requirement, exit tracking and employee user information.

These asset management systems seamlessly integrate with other business applications that are in use within a facility. Each system interfaces with the accounting, human resources, purchasing, payroll and other task-specific programs that are native to an operation, and add value to these operations. For example, the Uniform Manager software can “notify” the payroll program that a former employee has not returned all of the company’s garments to initiate the appropriate payroll deduction. Loss is reduced and responsibility is increased, ensuring applications are working together.

Uniform distribution conveyors and carousel systems also work in tandem with these management and tracking systems. Both manual distribution and ID card scanning distribution platforms are capable of software-run automation, limiting or eliminating employee hours spent at this task.

With WiFi enabled, the Foundation LogicSystems’ programs incorporate real time reporting for inventory, purchasing requirements, and employee asset tracking. There is no need to wait for an end-of-month report to make your operations aware of any issues that exist with uniforms, linen or laundry. Foundation LogicSystems’ software programs are advanced and innovative technology solutions that, when combined with the latest HID Global RFID technology empowers businesses to accurately and affordably manage assets.

Flexible fixation process for HID Global LinTag™ HID Global LinTag™ UHF transponders are tiny textile tags that endure up to 300 commercial laundry cycles and are efficient to apply.

LinTag transponders apply securely and discreetly to textiles, enabling RFID tracking of high-volume, commercially laundered bed linens, towels and garments. These robust transponders withstand the rigors of repeated washings, including exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, sterilizing heat and pressure. The patented design guarantees consistent performance over the life of the tag.

LinTag is available in 3 versions: To be 1) embedded into a pocket or hem, 2) to be heat-sealed or 3) to be sewn directly onto linen.

General Tag Placement

Typically textile transponders like LinTag should be placed near the edge of the textile, e.g. into the hem or a washing label. Never place the tag on fold lines.
