Automated External Defibrillator Training This course will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge required to use an AED and administer effective CPR. Who needs this qualification? This course has been designed for who with to be trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator. Why is this training important? This course complies with the guidance given by the HSE; who strongly recommends that first aider undertake annual refresher training within any three year certification period of a First Aid at Work course. Learning Outcomes Successful candidates will be able to: Assess an incidents Recognise and treat an unconscious casualty Recognise and treat an unconscious casualty who is not breathing normally Perform effective CPR on a non-breathing casualty Understand the anatomy and physiology of the heart and what defibrillation means Understand appropriate AED maintenance and pre -use checks Understand the practical use of a AED Practical use of an AED in combination with CPR when alone and when in a pair Course Details Assessment Practical assessment Duration Half day programme Venue In-house courses available (12 max) Certification/Accreditation Certified by FAIB Prerequisite None Testimonial “This course was great fun and very interactive.
