Autobiographical Statement Ji Li

I am from China, and graduated with a major GPA of 3.90 and the Bachelor of Arts degree from Beijing University of Technology. I am very interested in the Visual Communications Course in the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program. I believe my good major GPA record of 3.90 and my practical experience in the field of art and design will stand me in good stead for the program. I learned about the details of MFA program from the university website. This particular program has caught my interest for the website tells me that the Graduates of the program have a bright future, and the program provides a comprehensive professional preparation, which help students achieve their goals in the future. In addition, the university has excellent facilities and studio to train me in traditional and new technologies of Visual Communications design. I will also have outstanding professors to teach me and be my mentors. It will be a privilege for me to study at your school which has been at the forefront of education revolution for a long time. I love art and design very much. I like to have the opportunity to inspire students to make a contribution to the field of Visual Communications education. I find many students in China are not open in their thinking, and the conditions in China do not permit the learning of fine arts perfectly. I wish to change the situation if I am a teacher myself. I have always dreamt of becoming a teacher since I was a secretary general of the students union in Art and Design department. I worked hard and was always ranked one of the top three students in my department in the annual college comprehensive assessment. I can be a good teaching assistant. Please consider me for a teaching assistantship at the Kent State University. I would like to begin the MFA program in the fall semester of 2011. I have a clear vision of my goals and believe attending the program at the Kent State University will turn my vision into reality.
