Position Overview
Vendor Management, as part of Procurement within ANZ, looks to ensure that the relationship between ANZ are its key vendors jointly delivers value greater than the one contracted for. We have two programs of work that the successful intern would be involved in.
ANZ has a contracts management system to ensure the bank gets value out of contract and supplier performance management. This system has recently been improved improve the update of its use within ANZ.
Review and assess the current solution against the agreed success factors for the tool,
Make the contract manager’s role easier,
Simplify the user experience & ease of use,
Create central reporting & repository of contract information,
Determine what steps can be taken to improve the tool, then start off a tool improvement program.
Vendor Managers produce a quarterly strategic report for their discussions with the business Domain (function) General managers. These reports articulate the current vendor landscape, key issues (that effect Procurement), and provide guidance on future strategic decisions. Currently these strategy documents are manually created by each Vendor Manager from scratch. We are looking for a review to create a template which can generate a “smart document” from our standard data sources, enabling Vendor Managers to focus on providing insights.
During this process the intern will gain substantial exposure to Business, Procurement, and Vendor strategies as well as be involved in executive engagement and what good looks like when communicating with the “c-suite”.
In addition to these two main programs as Vendor Management is a close team there will be a number of opportunities to be involved in day to day relationship management activities.
Skills Required
Basic understanding of commercial contracts and contract structure i.e. what clauses would be expected and what they mean (at a high level).
Exposure to human centred design (HCD)/ user experience (UX)/ design
Strong communication and self-management skills.Task and Responsibilities
Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, your main responsibilities will include:
Analysing and synthesising information, understanding the organisational context and impacts, and documenting high level requirements as input into investment case delivery and opportunity/problem evaluation to help drive new and existing initiatives.
Documenting and managing the requirements throughout the project or program end to end, and liaising with subject matter experts in the products, processes and systems in their area of expertise.
Dealing with senior stakeholders to present findings and manage expectations. Activities include problem solving, process mapping, change management and stakeholder engagement.
Contributing to support for key business systems as a result of BAU and project change.
