In this room we were restricted by the patterns in the wallpaper, the stripy chairs and the patterned timber panels. So we chose a figurative painting with deep alleys in order to create a nice contrast to the existing patterns in the room.

This abstract version of the city of Melbourne was the perfect match for this empty space above the fire place. The colours matched perfectly and the subject a great conversational point. It makes people stop and think...”I know this place”.

When you match the colours of the artwork to the colours in the room you get great consistency flowing around the room. The alleys in the streets make this dining room feel larger and they tell a great story.

This space gets a lot of people traffic. It was looking bare, cold and boring. Although the colours blend there safely, we’ve managed to “jazz it up” and turn it into a fun place to go through.

Large long corridors can often feel cold and lonely. It’s important to break up one wall and warm it up with something that would entertain you as you go through.

A little touch of nature in the corner of this dining room created a “window of retreat”. If you are quiet enough you can almost hear the sound of the water moving.
