There really is no bad time to visit Australia. When it’s cold down south, it’s beautiful weather in the north and all year round there’s a wealth of seasonal experiences to indulge in. You’ll find the hottest months are between November and March, and this is the perfect time to head to southern Australia for sunshine and barbeques (Christmas on the beach is most definitely one for the bucket list). April through to September tend to be cooler, offering the perfect climate to venture north to Uluru and the vast desert plains of the Northern Territory that Australia is famous for. Finally, whether it’s beautiful landscapes, delicious food, vibrant history or just a good party you’re after, trust us, no matter what time of year you go, these things are all guaranteed.

Plane - Due to Australia’s size, air travel around the country is advised for the most part if you’re tight on time or have an itinerary covering vast distances. Several airlines such as Qantas offer great connections between cities and provincial airports.

Car - Many people choose to self-drive to get around Australia, and we agree that it’s a great way to see the country (particularly if you’re travelling down the East Coast). However, the distances can be huge, so it’s worth bearing this in mind when deciding on how best to get around.

The koala is not a bear, it’s a marsupial.

The Tasmanian devil does exist, and it has the jaw strength of a crocodile.

Flights - Flights to Australia from London are available with a variety of carriers and there’s usually a stop in Asia on the way. Depending on the route and where you stop over, flight times vary between 21 to 26 hours. From NYC it’s the same flight times, usually with a stop in LA or Dubai.

Visa and Entry Requirements - If you’re a British or US citizen, you’re required to apply for a three month visa. It’s all electronic and can be applied for easily online.
