Fred Gipson is an author. He is best known for

writing his 1956 novel Old Yeller. Gipson was born in Mason on the Texas hill country. The son of Beck Gipson and former Emma Dieshler. After working a variety of farming and ranching jobs he enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin.

SummaryThis story is about a boy that finds a

dog and don’t want it. Through manhood he discovers that he likes the dog. A roan bull gets hydrophobia and the dog gets in a fight with a loafer wolf and catches hydrophobia.
