Please accept once again greetings from Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation.

The academic year 2019-20 started very well. Lots of improvement in the admissions of all three institutes’. Besides all the courses of previous year we introduced a new class for open school at Bhumika Private Industrial Training Institute, Palye. 20 students enrolled their names for this new course. The open school of Holy Cross Indo German Private Industrial Training Institute is also running with 45 students.

ISEAF introduced open school coaching three years back. The objective was to help the students who dropped out from schools before completing X th class. They can join the open school coaching and the experienced and trained teachers are appointed to coach them. The National Institute of Open Schooling, Delhi conducted examination and are having centres in different parts of the state. Once the students passed the X th board examination they are allowed to continue their education in university or in Industrial Institutes, where X th class is compulsory. We got very good response from the students and their parents.

This academic year onwards all the students admitted in our institutes would be appearing their examination under “Indo German Board of Technical Education” and all the students are registered under this board. Besides one year and two years course we conduct short term courses for “Home Nursing”, “Bakery and Confectionary” of three months duration.

From the scholarship section 109 students completed their education this year. As you all know we were not taking new students for last four years still we have 165 students availing scholarship.

Last year also some sponsors came to meet their students. As usual we arranged their meetings in our office.

We are grateful to all our sponsors for their contribution to our organisation even though their students completed their education. This would help us to build a better future for our children who need help.

Please find a few successful stories of students who completed their education availing ISEAF’s scholarship. We also enclosed stories of students who completed their education in our Industrial Training Institutes and presently working.

STORIES OF SUCCESSFUL SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTSANKITA ASHOK VERNEKAR:-

My name is Ankita. I live at Mayem, Bicholim. My father Ashok is a casual laborer and my mother is a housewife. We were three members in our family. The only source of income was what my father gets from his daily wages. Our financial situation was very bad. Besides, I was a student, and I was in need of money to pursue my education. I came to know about Indian Students Educational Aid foundation which was helping poor students like me. I applied for scholarship and I was selected. This was in the year 2010. I completed my education with Masters in Pharmacy, with scholarship provided by Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation.

My sponsors were Mrs. Dorothe & Mr. Heinz Jansen. Presently, I am working as a ‘Trainee Chemist’ at “Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd”, Karaswada Thivim Industrial Estate. I am

grateful to my sponsors and Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation for all the help and encouragements.

SHEFALI GAONKAR :

My name is Shefali. I live at Khandola, Ponda. My father Ulhas is a casual labourer and my mother is a housewife. We were four members in our family. The only source of income was what my father gets from his job. So, our financial situation was very bad. Besides, I and my younger brother were students and we were in need of money to pursue our education.

Fortunately, Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation which was helping poor students like me, had its office in Siolim. I applied for scholarship and I was selected. This was in the year 2011. I completed my diploma in education with scholarship provided by Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation. Presently, I am working as a

teacher in “Shree Saraswati High School”, Ponda, Goa.

I am grateful to my sponsors and Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation for helping and supporting me financially.

DARSHAD SIOLKAR:-

My name is Darshad. I live at Siolim. My father died when I was studying in VI th class. My mother is a house wife and she gets a small amount from my father’s firm as pension. Fortunately I was selected for Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation scholarship. It was a big relief for me. This was in the year 2011 and from then till I complete my education I was provided scholarship. My sponsor was Mrs. Grit Steinweller.

I completed my engineering course in Mechanical Engineering and presently I am working as a

“Apprentice Engineer” in Centaur Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd., Karaswada, Mapusa, Goa for last 9 months.

I am grateful to Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation and my sponsor for helping me to build my own future.

ROHITA TAMSE :

I am Rohita, I live at Dessaiwada, Quepem. My father is a pump operator in a petrol pump and earns a small amount as salary and my mother is a housewife. My younger brother Gouresh was a student of VIII th

class. I applied for Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation scholarship and fortunately I was selected. This was in the year 2013. I wanted to get job as early as possible.

I completed my graduation in commerce and presently I am working as ‘Account Assistant’ in

“Satyam Chemical Industry”, Nessai-Goa.

OMKAR PALKAR

Omkar is 20 years old. He lives at Tiroda Panchoowadi – Dist. Sindhudurg, Sawantwadi. After passing his X th

class he joined Bhumika Technical Institute, Palye and opted for electrician trade. He was a hardworking student. He passed the examination with very good marks. Presently he is working as a maintenance technician for “Padma Hotel” at Morjim, Pernem.

He is very thankful to his teacher for guiding him regularly in his practical work and also to the institute.

NAMDEV LAVU VENGURLEKAR

My name is Namdev. I live at Ramnagar Colvale – Bardez. I passed IX th class. My

parents could not afford to send me for higher education. I wanted to get a job as early as possible. My teacher suggested me to go for hotel management course.

I joined Bhumika Technical Institute, Palye. Once I joined the course I felt I was lucky to get admission in this institute. Our institute got all the facilities. The kitchen, bakery section, restaurant etc. the classes were conducted regularly and lot of practical work. I passed my examination with very good marks in the year 2015. Presently I am working as an “Assistant Chef” at Terra Paraise Hotel.SITARAM MAYEKAR

My name is Sitaram. I am from a very poor family. After passing X th class, my parents could not afford to

send me for higher education. I joined Bhumika Technical Institute, Palye and opted for turner trade/welder trade. With the help of my teacher, I learnt both turning and fabrication very fast. I passed the examination in the year 2017.

Presently I am working as a turner in “Crompton Greaves Company” at Colvale Industrial Estate – Goa. I am grateful to my teacher, Sir Harischandra Parab who took good care and was very patient during the course of study.

TECHNICAL INSTITUTE – SIOLIM

SAYLI NIGUDKAR

My name is Sayli. I live at Bastora, Mapusa. After passing X

th class my

parents could not afford to send me for higher studies. So I decided to take admission for beautician trade in Keerti Vidyalaya Technical Institute, Siolim. I took admission for the batch of 2017-18. This course was of one year duration. I passed the examination with good marks. After completing the course I was confident to work as a beautician. Soon I was appointed as a beautician at “Glitz Beauty Parlour” at Mapusa. I am very happy with my job. Once I gain sufficient experience I want to start my own parlour.

ABHIJIT MAYEKAR:-

Abhijit lives at Satose,

Sindhudurg. He is 20 years old. After passing XII th class board examination through Maharashtra board he decided to join mechanic diesel trade in Keerti Vidyalaya Private Industrial Training Institute, Siolim. He answered the examination conducted by State Council of

Vocational Training in the month of July 2019.

Presently he is working for Chowgule Showroom in Colvale as Trainee Mechanic. His dream is to become a good mechanic. After gaining sufficient training, he is thinking of starting his own garage.VAISHNAVI VOLVOIKAR:-

Vaishnavi is from Chapora, Bardez. She is 17 years old. She failed in IX th class. Some of her friends told her about Keerti Vidyalaya Private Industrial Training Institute in Siolim. As this institute is close by to her house, she decided to take admission for sewing technology course in Keerti Vidyalaya Private Industrial Training Institute.

She answered the exam conducted by State Council of Vocational Training in the month of July 2019. Presently she is working for “PERFECT TAILORS” in Mapusa.

AKSHAY GAWAS

Akshay is from Netarde,

Sawantwadi. He is 22 years old.

He passed XII th class Board examination through Maharashtra Board. After passing XII th class he thought of doing some job oriented course as his dream was to start up his own business.

One of his friends suggested him to do air conditioning and refrigeration course in Keerti Vidyalaya Private Industrial Training Institute, Siolim.

He took admission for refrigeration & air conditioning course. He answered the exam conducted by Human Resource Development Foundation in the month of July 2019.

Now he and his friend started their own workshop in Banda, Maharashtra on partnership basis. He is very happy as his dreams came true and he is very much thankful to his teachers for encouraging and guiding him during his training period.

KAVITA MANDREKAR:-

Kavita stays in Parra, Bardez. After completing XII th class vocational

course in Commercial Garment Designing and Making, she decided to join sewing technology course in Keerti Vidyalaya Private Industrial Training Institute, Siolim to gain more and better knowledge and experience. She answered the exam conducted by State Council of Vocational Training. Presently she is working for “SAVIO JON” in Siolim. She is happy about her job. Her dream is to start her own unit after getting sufficient experience.

She is very grateful to her teacher for guiding her in practical work and the institute.

SANDEEP GOVIND BEKANE:

My name is Sandeep Bekane and I live in Betim, Bardez – Goa. I completed X th class and one of my friends suggested

me to do hotel management course. I thought it’s always better to have a skill along with the education. So, I joined food production course at Holy Cross Indo German Techno Centre, Marna, Siolim – Goa. During my studies I was also doing a part time job in a restaurant. I could not clear all my papers at the first attempt. But, as I was already working I cleared my paper in the second attempt. My teachers helped me a lot for this. I will be very thankful to my teachers for their help and continuous support to clear my academics. I had worked in the restaurant for more than a year along with my studies and this made me more confident. I started my own restaurant with the name, “Friend’s Restaurant”, near Village Panchayat, Salvador Do Mundo, Betim, Bardez – Goa with the goal to provide employment opportunities for others, besides making a life for me.TEJASVI SURESH PATNEKAR:

My name is Tejasvi Patnekar. I live in Gubla Wada, Oxel, Siolim, Bardez – Goa

with my mother. I lost my father at a younger age. I was left with no hope of financial support to the family. I had completed my studies up to X th class. At that time one of my friends suggested me to do home nursing course and assured me that it will help me to cope up with all my problems. I joined Home Nursing Course in Holy Cross Indo German Techno Centre, Marna, Siolim – Goa. I am happy with home nursing course, as my life has changed after doing this course. The management has helped me in my finances and given me encouragement to be an overall performer not only academically but also in extracurricular activities which were held in the institute. I am grateful to my teacher, Madam Stella and Principal for encouraging me in every area to be excellent. I thank the bureau for giving me job and I am now financially independent. Thank you very much.

brother in the

family. My elder brother studied up to

XII th class and is unemployed. By

looking at him I was worried about my

future and earnings. Studying and

sitting at home idle is not a good deal at

all. I came across one of my relative who

did home nursing course and earns well.

So I directly joined home nursing course

in ISEAF’s Holy Cross Indo German

Techno Centre, Marna, Siolim - Goa. I am

happy for choosing home nursing

course and I thank my teacher for

encouraging me during my studies and

helping me to build my confidence level.

At present I am doing full time duties

and I am financially independent now

and can support my family. Thank you

ROBERT ANTHONY REBELLO:-

My name is Robert Rebello and I did my food & beverage service

course in Holy Cross Indo German

Techno Centre, Marna, Siolim – Goa, after completing my studies up to XII th class. I have father, mother and younger sister in the family. My father is a mason but he got work occasionally. So the financial condition of family was not stable. I did part time job in s resort along with my studies. I was working is Sonesta Inn’s resort, Candolim as a trainee steward and after six months of the service I was promoted as a Steward along with the best employee of the month award. My teachers encourage me to do job side by side along with the studies and made me capable to stand on my own to support my studies as well as my family. Now I can support my younger sister for her studies and this feeling makes me more proud and happy. Thank you very much for building up my confidence level and making me financially independent.
