    ASOCIACIÓN JUVENIL AURYN

    INFO ABOUT AURYN YOUTH ASOCIATION

     Auryn youth Association will be the association in which you’ll be developing your EVS;

    additionally, there will be 3 people who will develop the volunteering tasks inside our 

     Association at the same time.

     Auryn started in ovember !""# with the aim o$ creating educative leisure time

    spaces, possibilities and alternatives $or children, youngsters and elderly people in the

    city o$ %eon. &he association 'orks in the $ield o$ prevention, education $or leisuretime, education $or human rights, theatre promotion, intercultural education,

    environmental education, youth entertainment and sociocultural development with a

    personal identity and pedagogical approach.

    'e count on a team o$ steady entertainers and volunteers, who are properly trained

    and with at least one certi$ication on areas related to (ree and %eisure &ime with

    children and )outh or to the area o$ social action. Such team prepares and develops

    youth entertainment activities or carries out administrative tasks so as to promote the

    growth o$ the association as a re$erential point $or all the groups o$ the neighbourhood

    or the city.

    MISSION

    * &o develop an intervention o$ communitarian development and socio+educational

    intervention with children, teenagers and youth $ocusing on boys and girls at risk o$ 

    social eclusion. 'e o$$er a -uali$ied system based on preventing, leisure time

    education and sociocultural entertainment with a personal pedagogical approach that

    supports interculturality, e-ual opportunities and networking not only with local entities

    but also at an international level, particularly at a European level.

    analysis o$ reality

    * &o keep a balanced development that allows incorporating new associates and

    volunteers, as well as more workers and participants; what’s more to achieve a greater 

    support $rom the public administration and the social environment.

    &he programmers that the association develops nowadays and in which the EVS

    would take place include

    + PROGRAMA “CREANDO FUTURO” (Building your u!ur"#$ it consists on an

    comprehensive educational program $or children and teenagers aged 3 to #8

    that o$$ers a -uali$ied service o$ prevention, education, participation andpromotion covering personal development, academic and social areas.

    9oreover, it o$$ers a support $or parents with in$ormation and training about a

    variety o$ topics that promote the optimal development o$ their children, as well

    as the implication in the activities their sons and daughters participate. &his

    + PROGRAM “%A& LO 'UE 'UIERAS”( Do )*! you *n!#$ this is a program

    adressed to youngsters aged #= that pretends to establish the means and

    channels needed to promote their active participation. &his program comprises

    the $ollowing pro7ects

    0ro7ect (antas>a activities related to artistic epression

    0ro7ect Voluntariado training and accompaniement o$ volunteers

    $rom the association.

    + PROGRAM OF +OB PLACEMENT AND EMPLO,ABILIT,$  'e promote

    vocational integration, 7ob placement and youth entrepreneurship. &his programincludes the $ollowing pro7ects

    Educational support $or those aged #8 and above.

    Service o$ career guidance and vocational orientation support.

    + PROGRAM BARRIO (N"ig)-our)ood#$  sociocultural activities addressed to

    the neighbourhood ?9agosto, 1hristmas, 1arnival, 1ulutral 'eek@.

     

    + PROGRAM AUR,N EUROPE$ &his program includes all the actions we

    develop at a European level with organiations $rom other countries, principally

    $rom the European Bnion. n this program we implement the $ollowing activities

    6evelopment o$ activities to promote European citienship respect

    and tolerance towards other cultures and 4uman 5ights..

    0ro7ects’ 6evelopment and participation in actions inside the 0rogram

    ErasmusC.

    6esign o$ educational materials on 4uman 5ights and international

    education at a European %evel. 0romotion o$ the EVS and European mobility.

    EVS VOLUNTEERS !ROFILE IN THE ASSOCIATION AURYN

    )oungsters aged between !" and 3".

    )oungsters interested in volunteering in a non+pro$it Association o$ local sphere

    which develops pro7ects o$ educational intervention with youngsters and

    children at social eclusion.

    )oungsters who pre$erably own some training or eperience with children and

    young people.

    )oungsters with certain knowledge o$ Spanish ?children only speak Spanish, so

    there is a need to communicate with them@.

     Availability and compromise to participate along the whole 0ro7ect.

    "ATES AN" TI#IN$ OF THE EVS !RO%ECT

    )our volunteering will start on the #st Dctober and will $inish on the #st August !"#8.

    t will last $or #" months.

    TRI!

    &he ErasmusC will sponsor your trip and will give you up to !FG $or your travel costs

    ?return@ so that you can cover your trip epenses $or the round trip $rom your 

    hometown. &hat is, your ticket to Spain on the #st o$ Dctober and your return ticket $or 

     August. &he procedure $or the reimboursement would be the $ollowing

    + &he volunteer will be in charge o$ searching and buying the necessary tickets

    ?plane, train, bus, H@ with the help o$ the sending or receiving organiation i$ it

    is necessary.

    + Dnce the volunteer has arrived in %eIn, the original tickets will be veri$ied and

    the reimboursement will be done ?up to a m:imum o$ !FG@.

    + t will be indispensable that the tickets will be original and that the prie appears

    in them. n the case o$ the plane tickets, i$ the prie does not appear, it is

    important to keet the e+mail $rom the company in which the prie and the name

    and surname o$ the passenger appear; i$ it is not posible the last resource

    should be asking the company $or a receipt. (or the reimboursement we need

    all the original Joarding 0asses.

    &he tickets should be the most economical as posible and in tourist class. At the same

    time, we recommend that you buy both your tickets, at least the plane one, as it will

    probably be cheapest than buying them separately.

    &he trips the volunteer wants to do in vacational periods will not be sponsored by the

    ErasmusC 0rogram.

    ACCO#O"ATION& FOO" ALO'ANCE AN" !OC(ET #ONEY

    'e will provide an apartment appropriate $or the basic needs o$ the 3 people that carry

    out their volunteering at the association. &he three volunteers will have to share the

    apartment and home tasks ?cooking, cleaningH@. t is important that the three

    volunteers are willing to cohabitate with each other $or the whole year, being respect$ul

    and respecting each other at home.

     Additionally, we’ll provide a weekly allowance o$ 3"+3FG a week $or $ood $or each

    volunteer. Apart $rom covering the appartment and the allowance the ErasmusC 0ro7ect

    provides a -uantity as pocket money $or the volunteers to use $or their own epenses.

    &his -uantity is o$ #"FG a month in Spain.

    VOLUNTEERIN$ ACTIONS

     Auryn )outh Association has as one o$ its main ob7ectives to approach the European

    reality to the youngsters o$ the city o$ L".n, to promote values such as solidarity,

    commitment, interculturality understood as richness and value in a society in which

    citiens $rom di$$erent backgrounds cohabitate. 'e also promote the entrepreneurial

    initiative and capacity o$ young people, and to help them understand that it is inside the

    local community where these values are developed and bene$it the population inside it.

    (rom this point o$ view, the EVS is $ramed in our organiation, and it is in this

    ob7ectives where our general interest $or hosting volunteers settles. Dur speci$ic

    interest is based on o$$ering our European volunteers the possibility to be in contact

    with pro7ects $or children and youngsters that will provide them training and learning

    moments, and that at the same time will help them develop their own capacities, due to

    the implement and development o$ their own pro7ects.

     

    'e also want that the EVS in our association will be based on promoting that both

    volunteers and youngsters o$ the association’s environement and the city o$ %eIn could

    have a direct relation that will bene$it both parts, and that will suppose an intense

    intercultural eperience and $ull o$ possibilities. 0romoting the knowledge o$ other 

    European realities through personal contact, is other o$ the positive aspects that will

    $avor the lack o$ pre7udices and racist and eno$obous attitudes, as well as the

    acceptance o$ the other and the rise o$ values such as solidarity.

    MAIN TAS/S IN 0%IC% T%E VOLUNTEER 0ILL PARTICIPATE

    &he volunteers will participate in the activities that the Association carries out inside the

    di$$erent pro7ects it develops. 'e’ll guarantee an active role $or the volunteer in the

    implementation o$ the activities. &he main tasks they will develop will be the $ollowing

    n$orming about the di$$erent topics and themes o$ interest $or the youth.

    5esearch and distribution o$ interesting in$ormation $or the collectives $rom the

    association.

    0articipation in the pro7ect management related to the Echange o$ people

    and eperiences with other countries $rom the European Bnion in which the

    youngsters are protagonists.

    0romoting and supporting the development and activities o$ the di$$erent

    groups o$ the association, mainly in tasks o$ educational support, $ree+timeactivities, artistic, environment, etc.

    0romoting the training activities o$ the youngsters in the area o$ associativism,

    European programs, etc.

    0articipating in the creation o$ educational materials related to intercultural

    education and education in 4uman 5ights.

    Evaluating o$ the activities carried out and their own learning process

    0rograming, eecution and monitoring o$ the activities developed by the

    association related to the training o$ capacities to the youngsters ?computer

    Supporting the coordination o$ the available resources.

    5elated to the volunteer’s role, it is important to point out that the volunteer will work

    coordinated by the coordinator o$ the association, and in coordination with the group o$ 

    workers, volunteers and animators o$ the association. &he volunteer will be able to

    contribute his2her eperience to the daily work o$ the association; and, at the same

    time his2her involvement in the 0ro7ect will determine to a large etent the success o$ 

    the 0ro7ect.

    05A1&1A% D5KALA&D

    &he schedule distribution and $ree days will be speci$ied and agreed when the

    volunteer arrives. Bsually, there will be F days o$ volunteering, hours a day

    approimately, two $ree days a week. Additionally, the volunteer will have ! days o$ 

    holiday each month during the pro7ect. n any case, we’ll also take into account the

    $ollowing aspects

    • n the moments o$ peak activties, or punctual activities ?such as weekend

    special activities@, we’ll may ask the volunteer to participate in such activities,o$ 

    course taking into account the volunteers’ opinion, and we’ll compensate such

    days ?$or instance with some etra $ree days@.

    • $ the volunteer knows in advance that at a particular date he2she must be

    absent $or some days, he2she will have to communicate it as soon as possible

    to the association so that the activity can be organied taking into account

    his2her absence.

    • 6ue to the characteristics o$ the activities, it is probable that we cannot provide

    $leibility in the holiday dates, as normally the association stops during school

    holidays, which will $orce the volunteer to organie his2her $ree time according

    to the calendar o$ activities o$ the association and the volunteer’s personal

    calendar. (urthermore, to avoid $uture con$licts or problems we’ll try to make

    the volunteer aware o$ the di$$erent dates proposed by the association ?it will be

    also important that the volunteer sees the positive side here he2she will know

    in advance his2her $ree days and can organie himsel$ or hersel$ better@.

    TUTOR AN" LEARNIN$ !ROCESS )Yout/pa,,1

    &he volunteers count on the personal support o$ a tutor, who will be the person in

    charge o$ doing so and helping them through the learning process. Dnce a month, the

    volunteer and the tutor will meet to evaluate their learning process. &he tutor will help

    the volunteer in administrative tasks i$ it is necessary; and the volunteer will accept the

    tutor as the person responsible o$ his2her well+being and will have to attend the

    meetings the tutor organies.

    Dn the other hand, Auryn )outh Association, will $acilitate the eistence o$ a supervisor 

    o$ the tasks o$ the volunteer, as well as providing other people who will supporthim2her. Such people will o$$er their supervision and orientation to the volunteers, and

    they will help him2her to $it in and integrate himsel$2hersel$ in the association, the

    pro7ect and the local community.

    n addition, $rom Auryn )outh Association we’ll provide opportunities $or the volunteers

    to integrate into the local community, get to know youngsters, socialie, participate in

    $ree+time activties, etc; and we’ll $acilitate the contact between the EVS volunteers

    whenever possible.

    )outhpass is a European recognition tool $or non+$ormal and in$ormal learning in youth

    work.  )outhpass is $or pro7ects $unded by ErasmusC 0rogram. 'ith )outhpass the

    participants o$ these pro7ects can describe what they have done and show what they

    have learnt. &he youthpass is a certi$icate you’ll develop and receive at the end o$ the

    pro7ect.

    INSURANCE

    Each volunteer o$ the EVS will be enrolled in the Kroup nsurance 0lan o$ the

    ErasmusC 0rogram that will complement the coverage o$ the systems o$ social

    security. &he Sending organiation in collaboration with Auryn Association will be the

    responsable $or inscribing the volunteers. &he inscription must be done be$ore the

    volunteer’s depart to Spain so that he2she is covered $or the integrate length o$ the

    Service.
