Welcome!!!
The activities office welcome you back to the new school year. Once again we are pleased to present a broad and balanced range of offerings. This booklet is a summary of the first trimesters’ program. There are some terrific opportunities on offer and we encourage students to get involved.
Students should sign up on the schoolnet grade level portal page. Although the activities trimester runs through Aug 31st to Nov 6th some activities have irregular schedules. For more information on these please check the description or consult with the advisor.

Meeting Day: Mondays 3.40 - 4.30 pm- Grade 6, 4.35 - 5.10pm - Grade 7+8Venue: Multi Purpose RoomStart: August 31stStudents will explore more advanced movement patterns based on various styles of modern dance, including modern jazz, street dance, lyrical dance etc. The whole class will be structured to include warm-up, stretching, strength building, choreography building and free dance expression. Fun movement will be complemented by an introduction to correct posture, body awareness and care. Dance students will perform for ISP students and parents. Our mission is to foster respect and compassion for all living things, to promote understanding of all cultures and beliefs, and to inspire each individual to take action to make the world a better place for people, other animals, and the environment. Meeting Day: Tuesdays 3.40-4.30 (weekly alternate grade 6/7,8)Venue: Green RoomStart Date: September 1stTaking our soothing yoga class and slowing things down. Your practice starts with listening to the body as your internal teacher. A moderate flow moves through the postures progressively with an emphasis on uniting mindful movements with breath. Some Pranayama (breath work), meditation along with deeper stretching will be included. This class is energizing while building strength and flexibility, aiming to bring balance to your mind and body. Meeting Days: Wednesdays 3.40 – 4.40pmVenue: Room 59Dates: September 2nd until December 2nd Coach: Tommy Jarolímek The middle school robotics team is for students interested in both Scratch-based programming and building of robots. The team will participate in the First Lego League (FLL) competition in November. You do not need to have experience with Robotics but you must have a strong interest in building and programming. This year the FLL competition theme is ‘RePlay’. There are two parts to the competition: a Robot Game and a Innovation Project. For the Robot Game, you and your team will build a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3, and program the robot to solve the missions for ‘RePlay'. The project will solve a real world problem for the same theme and present it to a panel of judges.

*Minimum number of students needed to run the activity - First 5 weeks will be for Grade 6 and second 5 weeks for Grades 7+8. Learn to express yourself through writing and recording your own songs. You will learn how to write your own lyrics, create chord progressions with ukuleles, guitars and keyboards and how to record and create a song with GarageBand. Join with your fellow students in creating a safe community for LGBTQ+ students and families. Hang out in a safe space and plan activities to educate and empower our ISP community. No sign up needed, just come along when you can. All are welcome.
