Respect Life I went to Planned Parenthood for a pregnancy test. They didn't do ANY counseling about fetal development or alternatives. An abortion was "the answer" just because I didn't want to be pregnant yet, even though I was happily married and had no financial problems. There was no explanation by the abortionist regarding anything that could have helped me think twice about this decision to have an abortion. My husband didn't want me to abort, but all the professionals said "they knew better what was best for me." I still cannot tell anyone else about it, even though it's been over 20 years now. It's made me very pro-life, because I've come to know the deceit that goes on in so-called "counseling." Not one day goes by that I don't think about it with regret and sorrow. I also have accepted the Lord as my Savior, and that has helped.

From the Associate Pastors Desk... Dear Parishioners of St. Francis Borgia, Last November around Veterans Day I made an announcement that I applied to become a military chaplain. I made a promise, that Ill inform You about the progress of my journey. After a very complicated and detailed process my application was approved. Last week I took The Oath Of Office. I have to attend 12 weeks of US ARMY BASIC TRAINING required in order for an individual to become a soldier. Ill start my training in September. Any day I shall receive detailed notification when to report to FORT JACKSON-COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA. Dear Brothers and Sisters, You are my parish family; Please, pray for me. Thank You and may God bless You! Fr. Marcin Bulinski

From the Pastors Desk. 15 years ago the Archdiocese of Chicago opened the Bishop Abramowicz Seminary for Seminarians from Poland to study and become the priests for this Archdiocese. I was the first Rector of this Seminary, and Fr. Peter Gnoinski, Fr. Marcin Bulinski, our Seminarian, Paul, and many others went through this program. BAS continues and is hosting the 11th Annual Benefit Dinner on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at The Westin OHare Hotel in Rosemont, IL. Cocktails and Silent Auction starts at 5pm and dinner at 6pm. Please let us know as soon as soon as you can if you would like to attend because we would like to organize a table from our parish and support the BAS. The tickets are $175 per person and can be reserved through the rectory office. Bishop Andrew Wypych as a delegate of His Eminence Cardinal George is asking us to support the Catholic League for religious assistance to Poland to assist the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic League is working to nurture both: The New Evangelization calls for fostering vocations to the priesthood and religious life and supporting continued formation in faith and training lay leadership in our parishes. Bishop wants to thank us for supporting the Catholic League every year through the collections. This year, the second collection for the Catholic League in our Parish will be taken on the weekend of August 30 and 31 when we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa. Fr. Rich Milek

HELP CHILDREN IN NEED Each August, Fr. Joe Mulcrone and the Deaf Community collect school supplies for children who have been abused or are very poor. Once again, There is a great need. the simplest way to do this is to get a back pack, then fill it with all sorts of schools supplies. (Flyers with the list of supplies are in the back of church or available from the SFB Office.) Then, drop off the back pack or any school supplies at Stokes Center, any Sunday in August.

August 4, 2014 Dear , St. Francis Borgia School is Preschool to Grade 8, and is a continually growing parish. We are proud of our important contributions to the community and our tradition of faithful service. With over 60 years of proven academic success, our school is committed to giving our students the best education possible. St. Francis Borgia School will continue to be a vibrant pillar of academic excellence on the northwest side of Chicago in the years to come. Last year, St. Francis Borgia School hosted its Third Annual Fall Festival with much success. We are expanding this event with the hope that this will become our main fundraiser. The goal of this event is to raise much-needed funds to support our academic program, improve the technology used by teachers and students daily, as well as to build neighborhood relationships. We are so excited this year to hold our Fourth Annual Fall Festival. This years event will be held on Thursday, September 18; Friday, September 19; Saturday, September 20; and Sunday, September 21. With nearly 250 children enrolled in the school and the use of great marketing, we expect to have over 2,000+ people attend this fun event each day. Now in our Fourth year, we are looking to make this years Fall Festival better than ever, and we need your help to make that happen. I am writing to ask for your generosity and help to achieve our fundraising goals. We are looking for donation of various items to manage the food concessions for the event to include: paper products, foam coffee cups, cans of soda, hot dog and hamburger buns, bottled water, polish sausage, Italian sausage, brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, and much more. The Fall Festival staff can come to you and pick up the donations, or you can come to St. Francis Borgia to drop off the donations. If you cannot donate physical food product items, a monetary donation would also be useful to our fundraising goals and to purchase items not able to be donated. If you are interested in supporting St. Francis Borgias Fall Festival through any donation, please return the enclosed form by September 2nd, 2014 to ensure having your business listed in our marketing materials and/or banners. St. Francis Borgia School is a qualified tax-exempt organization, and you will receive a post-event tax letter for your purposes. Thank you for considering this request. If you have any questions or would like additional information about the Fall Festival or our school, please contact Chair of the event. Sincerely, Fran Puleo 2014 Fall Festival Chair 773-865-7520 [email protected]

A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 Feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men walking single file. The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said: "I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whos is it? "My wife's." ''What happened to her?" "She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her." He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?" The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her." A very poignant and touching moment of brotherhood and silence passed between the two men. "Can I borrow the dog?" The man replied, "Get in line."
