National News IN THE PEACH STATE A group of thugs defaced the mural of a memorabilia shop in downtown Kennesaw. Vandalizing a brick wall atop the Wildman’s Civil War Surplus store with what the alleged culprits described as “antifa Smurfs” that resemble the blue cartoon characters. Indecline, which calls itself an “activist art collective,” was founded in 2001. The group issued a press release to local media Sunday taking credit for the graffiti. They called it “a large-scale art installation.” According to the press release, which was issued anonymously from thisisinde-cline.com, artists from the group spent about six months visiting the Kennesaw shop, posing as Civil War enthusiasts. They gained the trust of Dent “Wildman” Myers, the 90-year-old owner who opened the shop in 1971. According to Indecline, Myers gave the group the okay to redesign the pre-existing brick mural, which featured paintings of two Confederate soldiers armed with muskets surrounding the store’s logo. Indecline released a 23-sceond video that showed Myers telling someone who asked about the mural, “It’s okay, you can do anything you want to do. I’m glad to have you.” The artist, whose voice was electronically altered in the clip, quipped, “Don’t say we can do anything... We’ll put a bunch of antifa Smurfs up there.” Myers was reached at his store Monday but declined to comment on the incident over the phone. Kennesaw police say they are "investigating the incident," which occurred Saturday night. Myers has described his store as a museum and said it was opened to preserve history.

IN THE SUNSHINE STATE There was a spirited 3.5 hour meeting Tuesday of the Putnum County Board of County Commis-sioners debating an ordinance that would protect Confederate and other monuments within the County. At the urging of Commissioner Paul Adamczyk, the Commission directed County Attorney Rich Ko-mando to expand the reach of the ordinance before representing it at a second meeting to be held later this month.

IN THE TAR HEEL STATE

The Confederate statue “Fame” that had stood in a median at the corner of W. Innes and Church

streets in Salisbury for more than 100 years before being moved into storage last July, has just been

replaced in a new location in the Old Lutheran Cemetery on N. Lee Street.

In the new location, the statue is surrounded by a fence and will be monitored by security cameras.

ALSO IN THE TAR HEEL STATE

During an open session meeting on Monday morning the Wilmington City Council voted to remove the

Confederate statues located at Third Street and Market Street.

The statues will be given to a local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

County Judge Charles Dorsey is ordering the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors to remove the Con-

federate monument sitting outside the courthouse in a timely manner. So far, the Board is properly ig-

Jason Peters, chairman of the Board, said they were very surprised when they received the order from

the County Judge.

Peters said the county has owned the monument for more than a century and that the monument is dif-

ferent because it was given to honor local residents who served in the Confederate army. "We want to

Over the past 12 months, my husband and I have been involved in a personal issue that consumed much of our time and re-

sources. Until now, we were unable to speak about it, even to you, our supporters, until all legal issues were properly resolved.

One of the first things we did after moving into our new home in the spring of 2020, was to install a flag pole holder, with a

pole and 3x5 battle flag, which flies every day on our front porch. We live in a conservative, rural area of Virginia, and there

were no problems for the first few weeks.

All that changed when we returned home from a Confederate Cross of Honor dedication ceremony in early June, to find one of

our neighbors (his house is over 100 yards away) blasting filthy rap music and civil rights speeches from a window, so loud that

we could hear it INSIDE our home. Having never met this (68 year old white) man, we weren't sure what was going on until he

stepped out of the house shouting threats that our house was going to be burned down if we didn't take down our flag.

This was the same weekend that the terrorists were burning cities across the country.

We called the authorities and reported the incident. Over the next few days, the man stepped up his threats and attempted in-

timidation, claiming the flag was coming down "or else", and, there were more visits by law enforcement. Finally, under the

advice of the sheriff's department, we filed a request for, and were granted an emergency protective order.

Of course, we did not take down our flag.

During the weeks that followed, the man continued to try and push the limits of the protective order, until one day, in a fit of

rage, he violated the order. We filed charges, and the man was subsequently arrested and charged with violating the order.

At that point, if found guilty of the violation, the protective order would automatically be extended for two years, and if not

found guilty, we would still have the chance to get the original emergency protective order extended. A hearing date was set.

Over the next months, there were repeated continuances and delays by his attorney, but we finally had our day in court.

After hearing all testimony, (which is MUCH more extensive than I have shared here) the judge found him GUILTY of the

misdemeanor violation of the protective order and sentenced to him to spend a NIGHT IN JAIL, AND gave us a two year ex-

tension of the original protective order.

THIS WAS A HUGE VICTORY, not only for us personally, but for the First Amendment rights of others!

Although we were immediately notified that he planned to appeal, the Commonwealth's Attorney's office contacted us recently

to let us know that the appeal had been withdrawn, the conviction upheld, and that he would be reporting for his night in jail

very soon.

We are extremely grateful to our attorney, Colt Puryear, who went above and beyond in helping us get this resolved, and to our

Father in heaven for his continued hand of mercy and blessing! We also appreciate your patience and understanding as we may

have had to put some things on hold and haven't been as quick to respond as we hope to always be.

We are happy to be FINALLY be able to put this behind us and be able to move forward and dedicate our full attention to the

numerous new flag site projects that are in various stage of development....

…..right after we get a bigger pole and flag installed on our own property...VERY SOON. ;)

God bless and keep you all, and GOD SAVE THE SOUTH!

CHARGE TO THE SONS

OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS

“To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the

cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Con-

federate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his

virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love

also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish.”

Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee Commander-General United Confederate Veterans New Orleans, Louisiana 1906

Remember, it is our duty to see that the true history of the South is preserved and

presented to future generations.

Until we meet again, let us remember our obligations to our forefathers, who gave us the

undeniable birthright of our Southern Heritage and the vision, desire and courage to see

it perpetuated.
